Pokemon Online Revolution (commonly known as POLR) is a fan-made MMORPG developed using Clickteam's Multimedia Fusion 2. The project is developed by Sienide with the guide of the POLR community and a few other devs. The forums feature sections and polls asking its members what they would like to see in the next build of the game. A new version of the game is released at least once a month to ensure on-going development of the game.

Website & Gallery

POLR's website features the latest news from the POLR team, game screenshots, an in-depth developers blog and a link to download the game client. There is a detailed setup guide on their forums as the game also requires Hamachi network client to play. The forums also feature a gallery which shows members screenshots of past, current and future releases.

Current Build

The current build is v0.7.6 which features:

Planned Features

The developer currently plans to implement all features of the original games and more. Some include: - Ability to catch most Pokémon, including rare Pokémon seen in the anime such as Surfing Pikachu

  • Player vs. Player Battles, Trading and Online Tournaments
  • All game regions available to roam, with the addition of fan-made regions
  • Offline mode for those who 'just want to play'
  • Pokémon Mystery Dungeon mode that will take your Pokémon on quests
  • The ability to have your starter Pokémon follow you everywhere just like Pikachu followed Ash
  • Optional quests that branch off from the main story arc which unlock rare items/Pokémon
  • Map & Quest Maker

Offline Mode

Offline mode will be available from v0.7.6 onwards. Builds will be addressed in the following format: Online Build/Offline Build. Example: v0.7.6 will be known as v0.7.6/0.7, indicating the online build as version 0.7.6 and the offline build as 0.7. This is due to the difference between the offline and online game engines, and displays the relevance to each other. Sienide is aiming that by version 0.8, both engines will be at equal standards and will progress at equal steps.

Also, interestingly, user data stays the same on both offline/online modes. Allowing players to level up offline and display their talents online.
