Poison Sting (Japanese: どくばり Poison Needle) is a damage-dealing Poison-type move introduced in Generation I.

Effect
Generation I
Poison Sting inflicts damage and has a 19.9% chance of poisoning the target. Poison Sting cannot poison the target if it has a Substitute, already has a major status ailment, or is a Poison-type.
Generation II and on
Same as Generation I with a 20% chance of poisoning all Pokémon except Poison-types and Steel-types.

Pokémon
Weedle. Weedle jumps at the foe with its stinger pointed at it.
- Used by a wild Weedle in Challenge of the Samurai Debut.
Beedrill. Beedrill stabs at the foe with it's body stinger.
- Used by several Beedrill in Challenge of the Samurai.
- Used by Jeanette Fisher's Beedrill in The Fourth Round Rumble.
Arbok. Arbok open its mouth and multiple white or purple darts are shot at the opponent in rapid succession.
- Used by Arbok from The Flame Pokémon-athon! to A Poached Ego!.
Tentacruel. Tentacruel stabs the opponent with its large blue tentacle on its face.
- Used by Marina's Tentacruel in Bye Bye Psyduck.
Croagunk. Croagunk opens its mouth and purple darts are shot at the opponent.
- Used by Brock's Croagunk from Gymbaliar to present.
Drapion. Drapion opens its mouth and purple darts are shot at the opponent.
- Used by the J's Drapion in Mutiny in the Bounty!.
Dustox. Dustox opens its mouth and purple darts are shot at the opponent.
- Used by Jessie's Dustox from ??? to Crossing Paths.
Nidoran♂. Nidoran opens its mouth and purple darts are shot at the opponent.
- Used by a wild Nidoran♂ in Leading a Stray!.
