Pikachu belongs to Isamu Akai. He is coincidentally the cousin of Clefairy and one of the only Pokémon in the manga who cannot talk, instead relying on pantomime to communicate. Pikachu is often shown as an opposite of Red's Clefairy because it's intelligent and makes everything much better than his cousin. Due to that, Clefairy and Pikachu are sometimes shown as rivals.
