Plot

201 Spoiler warning: this article may contain major plot or ending details. 201

Yellow wonders who Giovanni is, having never met him before; conversely, Pika is enraged to see Giovanni who merely sneers at him. Yellow, reading Pika's memories, realises that Pika has fought with Giovanni. As Lance tries to go invisible, Giovanni sends out his Rhyhorn to blow sand all over the smaller bubbles, revealing them and allowing his Nidoqueen to break them. However, Nidoqueen is unable to break the main bubble. Lance mocks Giovanni, but Giovanni merely rolls his Beedrill's Poké Ball underneath the main bubble and pierces it with Twineedle, dropping Lance into the middle of the String Shot net and entangling him.

Giovanni, looming over the bound Lance, declares that he cannot permit the Elite Four to wage war on Kanto before he can assume control over it. Lance merely acknowledges Giovanni as the leader of Team Rocket, surprising Yellow who recognizes Giovanni as the one who attempted to exploit Viridian Forest two years in the past.

High above, a massive amount of energy gathers in the sky, much to Lance's pleasure.
