Adventuring the Stone (Japanese: めざせ!冒険の石!!, Aim for it! The Adventure Stone), is the first chapter of the second volume of Magical Pokémon Journey.

When the manga was published in monthly issues in North America, it was published in Volume 2, Issue 1: Almond's Adventure Club.

Plot

The chapter begins with Squirtle asking Almond if he can be his "little brother". Squirtle looks up to Almond and wants him to teach him how to be "manly". Clefairy and Pikachu decide they would like to become manly too.

Almond begins by giving the three Pokémon tests of stamina and courage. When they fail at these tests, he challenges them to find the "Stone of Adventure", which will make them "Masters of Adventure".

Inside the cave containing the stone, the group fight off a flock of Golbat. Squirtle tries to use its Water Gun, but it cannot reach the flying Pokémon. Pikachu, however, is able to defeat the Golbat with a Thunder Shock.

Almond thinks he has found the Stone of Adventure, but when Hazel picks it up, it turns out to be the end of an Onix's tail. Squirtle defeats Onix with a Water Gun, rescuing the group. Onix awards Squirtle a Stone of Adventure for his bravery.
