(Japanese: とべ、紙ヒコーキ Fly, Paper Plane) is the eighth chapter of the Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl manga created by 坂井 孝行 Sakai Takayuki.

Plot

Ash and Dawn sit near a crater, and Ash is practicing throwing paper planes. Dawn teases that he is bad at making them since none are flying far. He finally sends one that flies well, but it is stopped in mid-air by an Alakazam. Ash gets angry, sliding down the crater towards Alakazam and demanding his paper plane back. Alakazam pushes Ash away with Shadow Ball, and blocks Pikachu and Piplup's subsequent attacks. Ash realizes they are outmatched, and says they won't be able to fight normally. He pulls out a package of silver foil paper and urges Dawn to help him make paper planes out of it. They fly all of the planes towards Alakazam, and Pikachu sends a Thunderbolt into the air. The electricity reacts with the foil and creates a web of electricity around Alakazam, shocking and trapping him. Ash is about to call for a final move, but at that moment a paper plane flies into his head. Ash inspects it and realizes it is the same plane Alakazam took from him earlier. He tells Pikachu to stop attacking and tentatively throws the plane back to Alakazam. Alakazam catches it and happily throws it back. The two trainers realize Alakazam only wanted to play the whole time.
