Nintendo Promotional Cards (TCG)
From Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia.
Since their occupation of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Nintendo have produced many exclusive cards for promotional events such as tournaments, special events or through Pokémon-related merchandise.
Promotional cards are typically rarer than cards found in Expansion sets. Some Promotional cards are rarer than others, depending on what promotion they were released through. Nintendo's Promotional cards have a more diverse range than the cards produced by Wizards of the Coast, having Promotional cards for more affiliated events and producing Promotional sets such as the POP series.
In the lists below, each of the cards are designated '--', as they all have 'Promotional rarity'. In the cases of holographic or reverse-holographic cards, they are indicated in brackets.

Promo Collection
- Because of the high-profile events that some of these cards were available at, the Nintendo Promotional cards are regarded as more collectible than those produced by Wizards, as they were harder to obtain and therefore much rarer. Some cards were limited to quite small print runs, making them especially sought after.
- The 'PROMO' symbol on these cards is much smaller than the one used on Wizards' Promotional cards.
- A number of these cards have two or more versions (with a 'Winner' or special stamp). The cards listed here are the regular versions (i.e. no stamp), the other versions are listed under other categories.
There are also new Promo Tin Cards of Dialga, Palkia and Darkrai cards, which are also obtainable in the packs.
Prerelease Collection
- The Prerelease cards are reprints of one selected card from an Expansion with a foil Poké Ball symbol and 'PRERELEASE' stamp in the bottom right corner of the card art. These cards were released through special Prerelease tournaments held on weekends before the release of the Expansion.
- The only holographic Prerelease card is Armaldo, probably as it was the first Prerelease card to be produced by Nintendo.
