Nidorina (Japanese: ニドリーナ Nidorina) is a Poison-type Pokémon.
Contents |
Biology
Physiology
Nidorina is comparatively larger than its pre-evolution, though it loses the forehead horn. Nidorina's poison spikes are larger and probably more potent; it has also gained the ability to stand on its hind legs.
Gender differences
Nidorina is the female equivalent of Nidorino. This is shown even in its name, which ends in a as opposed to o in Nidorino. A is traditionally a feminine vowel in the English language, particularly at the ends of names.
Nidorina seems to be more docile and and relaxed than its counterpart Nidorino.
Special abilities
Nidorina's abilities are stronger than Nidoran♀'s, but are otherwise the same.
Behavior
Nidorina is a gentle Pokémon like its pre-evolution, Nidoran♀. It is a caring mother, chewing food for its young. Although it would rather not attack at all, it prefers attacks like clawing and biting. It seems to display close family bonds with others of its own kind, and becomes nervous when separated. However, when angered, a Nidorina can become a formidable foe.
Habitat
Nidorina live in expansive hot savannas and plains.
Diet

In the anime
Emily's Nidoran♀ evolved into Nidorina after battling Team Rocket and kissing Ralph's Nidoran♂ in Wherefore Art Thou, Pokémon?
Whitney has a Nidorina. It was easily defeated by Ash's Cyndaquil in their Gym Battle.
In the manga
Blue had a Nidoran♀ in Pokémon Special that evolved into a Nidorina. It later evolved into a Nidoqueen.
