Release information

This card was reprinted with artwork by the same artist as a McDonald's promotional card in Japan in May 2002. It was reprinted again with different artwork by Ken Sugimori. In Japan, it was available through a Meiji Chocolate campaign in June 2005. The English print was a secret card in the EX Holon Phantoms set. This print changes "number of Energy cards" in Super Psywave attack's effect to "amount of Energy", literally changing the effect from counting the cards to counting the Energy.

Trivia

  • When the non-holographic version of the Expedition print of this card is scanned through the e-Reader, another attack is revealed:

Strange Wave
みちのはどう
This attack may cause a random effect to the Defending Pokémon.

The random effect is chosen from between Burned, Paralyzed, and Poisoned.

  • A non-holographic version of the EX Holon Phantoms print of this card was distributed in copies of the DVD release of Lucario and the Mystery of Mew.

Origin

Super Psywave is based on Psywave, a move in the Pokémon games that Mew can learn in Generation I via TM46.
