Trivia
- Mantine's Generation IV sprite has no Remoraid attached to its wings, unlike past sprites. The ironic part about this is that the same generation introduces Mantyke, which requires a Remoraid in the party in order to evolve into Mantine.
- Mantine is one of nine non-Bug, Flying-type Pokémon that cannot learn Fly.
- The shiny form of Mantine features a normal Remoraid, and vise-versa for the Gold and Silver sprites.
- Ironically, despite the fact that Mantine is featured in Crystal, Remoraid, its partner is not found in the wild.
Origin
It is similar to a manta ray, with some kite-like aspects.
Name origin
Mantine's name, an anglicization of its Japanese name, may be a combination of manta and marine.
