In the anime
Both Misty and Daisy have a Luvdisc, nicknamed Caserin and Luverin. They acquired the two Rendezvous Pokémon in Luvdisc is a Many Splendored Thing.
Juan's Luvdisc was first seen in The Great Eight Fate!. It was also used in the following episode in the gym battle against Ash.
A few Luvdisc also appeared in Hold the Phione!.
In the manga
Wallace has a Luvdisc nicknamed Elizabeth in Pokémon Special. She's usually shown out of her Poké Ball, floating along beside him. Wallace relies on her to solve problems, apparently, as she is shown doing such things as putting out a burning scarf and releasing a Lileep and Anorith to test Ruby's worth at Wallace's request. Also, the two seem to share a bond, as he rarely, if ever, has to specify what he wants her to do. Like all of Wallace's Pokémon in the manga, she is incredibly beautiful and was able to defeat all of Ruby's top contest Pokémon (excluding Mimi) in an unofficial contest in a matter of minutes.

Trivia
- Luvdisc's shiny colors may be a reference to having a Heart of Gold, which signifies a person or being completely without malice, whose nature is loving or caring.
- In the games, Luvdisc has an orange-pink tint, while in the anime and its official art, Luvdisc appears more reddish-pink.
- Luvdisc is considered by many fans to be a Novelty Pokémon. due to the fact that it was very weak stats (except for Speed), a very poor movepool and an ability which serves to increase a stat which is not really in need of increasing in the first place yet it is still desired to be caught by players simply due to the fact that they can be caught holding Heart Scales which can be used to teach Pokémon previously forgotten moves.
Origin
Luvdisc is based on the discus fish and certain other species of fish that appear to kiss each other (such as the kissing gourami).
Name origin
Lovecus is a combination of love and discus. Luvdisc is a play on luv (probably meaning love) and discus.
