Pokémon that are obtained via a Nintendo event usually have a specific ID No. and Original Trainer, and many also hold a special item, such as a rare Berry. Others can be obtained by a special item, as is the case with Deoxys in Pokémon FireRed, LeafGreen, and Emerald.

Pokémon obtainable by item
The following are some Nintendo event Pokémon obtainable via a special rare item.
Latias or Latios
In Ruby and Sapphire, only one of the two legendary dragons appear in mainland Hoenn. The other is only available on Southern Island, which can be accessed only by having the Eon Ticket. In Emerald, the player can choose which will appear on the mainland.
Lugia and Ho-Oh
In Pokémon FireRed, LeafGreen, and Emerald, the Mysticticket serves as an event item that allows players to travel to Navel Rock, where both Lugia and Ho-Oh can be found.
Deoxys
In Pokémon FireRed, LeafGreen, and Emerald, the Aurora Ticket serves as an event item that allows players to travel to Birth Island, where Deoxys can be found.
Mew
In Emerald, Mew can be found on Faraway Island, which can only be reached via the Old Sea Chart.
Darkrai
In Diamond and Pearl, Darkrai can be found on Newmoon Island, which can only be reached with the Member's Card.
Shaymin
In Diamond and Pearl, Shaymin can be found in the Flower Paradise at the end of Seabreak Path, which can only be reached with Oak's Letter.
Arceus
In Diamond and Pearl, Arceus can be found in the Hall of Origin, which can only be reached with the Azure Flute.
Manaphy in Pokémon Ranger
In Diamond and Pearl, a Manaphy egg can be obtained by completing a rescue mission in Pokémon Ranger or Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, then transferring the received egg via Mystery Gift into Diamond or Pearl.
Phione
Phione can only be obtained by breeding Manaphy with Ditto.
