Release information
This card was first released in the EX Hidden Legends expansion, originating from the Undone Seal expansion, with artwork by Ryo Ueda. It was later reprinted in the EX FireRed & LeafGreen, as well as the Venusaur/Charizard/Blastoise Random Constructed Starter Decks, Metagross Constructed Starter Deck, and Emerald Gift Set. The card was reprinted again in the Platinum expansion and Entry Pack DPt with new artwork by the same artist.
Life Herb was reclassified in Japan as an Item card during the HeartGold & SoulSilver Series, though the English Trainer cards did not adopt this naming convention until after this card's latest print. Unleashed and the Battle Starter Decks featured new artwork by Hideaki Hakozaki.

Trivia
Life Herb is the first Trainer card to appear in two consecutive English-language sets, and would remain the only one until Bebe's Search and Night Maintenance appeared consecutively in Mysterious Treasures and Secret Wonders.
Origin
This card is based on a Revival Herb, a herbal medicine in the Pokémon games that revives a fainted Pokémon to full HP.
