Lava tile

A lava tile is a special tile featured in Pokémon Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and Platinum. They are just for decoration; the player can't step on them during the normal course of gameplay (for obvious reasons).

In the games
Generation II
Generation II is first generation to feature lava tiles. They are found at the Blackthorn Gym and later at Bruno's room on Indigo Plateau.
Generation III
Generation III is the second generation in which lava tiles are found, specifically in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. They are found at the top of Mt. Chimney, and almost anywhere Groudon is present, including Terra Cave and the Cave of Origin.
Generation IV
In Pokémon Platinum, lava tiles are featured at Stark Mountain.
In HeartGold and SoulSilver, they can be found in Blackthorn Gym and in Bruno's room at the Indigo Plateau once again.
