Trivia

  • Kricketot is less common in the wild than its evolved form, Kricketune: it cannot be found during the day, while Kricketune can.
  • Kricketot is so far the only Pokémon with a base stat total of 194.
  • Kricketot was first believed to evolve into either Volbeat or Illumise, however, this was proven false.
  • Kricketot has lower Base Stats than Magikarp, the weakest Pokémon. However, Kricketot has a more diverse and powerful movepool in Pokémon Platinum.
    • Kricketot could learn only Growl and Bide in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, although it had a larger movepool in Platinum with the introduction of the Move Tutors and that it can now learn Bug Bite through level-up.

Origin

Kricketot is based on a cricket and a music conductor.

Name origin

Kricketot is a from a corruption of cricket and tot. Korobōshi's name is derived from kuroboshi tsutsuhamushi, the black-spotted leaf beetle, or 蟋蟀 koorogi, cricket, and 黒星 kuroboshi, black-spot.
