Trivia

  • When first released, its similarity to Volbeat and Illumise led many to believe it was a pre-evolution.
  • Oddly, Kricketot is less common in the wild than its evolved form, Kricketune. Kricketot can't be found during the day, while Kricketune can.

Origin

Kricketot is based on a cricket and a music conductor.

Name origin

Kricketot is a from a corruption of cricket and tot. Korobōshi's name is derived from kuroboshi tsutsuhamushi, the black-spotted leaf beetle, or 蟋蟀 koorogi, cricket, and 黒星 kuroboshi, black-spot.
