Kimberly

Kimberly (Japanese: キワメ Kiwame) is an old woman who lives on Boon Island in the Pokémon Adventures manga.

Kimberly is known as the "guardian of ultimate attacks", and has been known to require Trainers to go through trials known as the Jump Path, Catch Path, and Battle Path in order for their Pokémon to learn these techniques. Through these trials, Red's Saur was able to learn Frenzy Plant and Blue's Charizard was able to learn Blast Burn. Kimberly later taught Green's Blasty Hydro Cannon without having to go through the trials.

Kimberly appears to be based off an old woman living on Cape Brink in FireRed and LeafGreen, a move tutor known for teaching Frenzy Plant to Venusaur, Blast Burn to Charizard, or Hydro Cannon to Blastoise.

• Due to Coronis's translation of the mangas, she is also popularly known as Brinca in the fan community, as Coronis is fond of inventing Western names for manga-only characters who lack dub names.
• Kimberly possesses a full set of the fully evolved forms of Johto's starter Pokémon, who themselves are able to obtain the "ultimate moves" either through evolving from Pokémon obtained on Mt. Battle in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness or from a similar move tutor on Route 228 in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.
