Trivia

  • Unusually, many Flying-type Pokémon can learn Heat Wave by Platinum move tutor, despite it being a Fire-type move. However, this may be because Heat Wave's Japanese name contains the word "wind".
  • With the exception of Mew, Arceus and Smeargle, Vibrava and Flygon are the only Pokémon who can learn this move by tutoring that are not Flying- nor Fire-type.
  • Because its animation consist of a colored wind blowing at the foe, it may be confused with Ominous Wind and Silver Wind.
