Trivia

  • Due to the three lumps at the front of its head and its ponytail, it bears a resemblance to Nurse Joy.

  • Happiny, along with Chansey, has the lowest base stat for both Attack and Defense in the games.
  • In the games, Happiny gives 255 base experience points, greater than all other Pokémon besides its evolutionary relatives Chansey and Blissey and the all-powerful Arceus, all of which give the same amount.
  • Happiny, and its evolution family, Chansey and Blissey, have the most in-game items associated with them. This includes: Lucky Punch, Lucky Egg, Luck Incense and the Oval Stone.

Origin

Happiny is vaguely based on marsupials that carry young.

Name origin

Pinpuku may be derived from the Japanese word ピンク pinku, meaning pink, the color that this Pokémon is, and 福 fuku, good fortune. Happiny is derived from the words happiness and tiny.
