Glaceon (Japanese: グレイシア Glacia) is an Ice-type Pokémon.

It evolves from Eevee when it is leveled up on Route 217.

Contents

Biology

Physiology

Glaceon is a fox-like creature covered in light-blue fur. The fur is actually frozen into sharp quills, but one can't really tell by just looking. Glaceon appears to be wearing a Sherpa cap on its head. Glaceon's ears, two spots on its back, tail end and cap-endings are all rhombus-shaped.

Gender differences

None.

Special abilities

Glaceon can use any attack that Eevee knows with the addition of Ice-type attacks. As a fully evolved Pokémon, Glaceon can learn Hyper Beam and Giga Impact. In addition to that, it can also freeze its fur to make it stand up like needles - similar to its evolutionary kin, Jolteon.

Behavior

Habitat

Glaceon lives in snowy regions of Sinnoh.

A Glaceon made a cameo in A Lean Mean Team Rocket Machine under the ownership of a Trainer bearing a strong resemblance to Pietra.

Glaceon made a small cameo in the beginning of Giratina and the Sky Warrior together with an Eevee and the other six Eeveelutions.

A Glaceon also appeared in Sliding Into Seventh!.

Trivia

Origin

Like most Eeveelutions, it has traits of foxes, dogs, and cats.

Name origin

Its name may be derived from the French glace, meaning ice, and -eon, the traditional suffix of all Eevee evolutions. Alternatively, the “glace” part of the name may be derived from the word glacier, which is a large, slow moving mass of ice.
