Fury Swipes (Japanese: みだれひっかき Disturbed Scratch) is a damage-dealing Normal-type move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Generation I

Fury Swipes inflicts damage, hitting 2-5 times per use. There is a 37.5% chance that it will hit 2 times, a 37.5% chance that it will hit 3 times, a 12.5% chance that it will hit 4 times, and a 12.5% chance that it will hit 5 times. Although only the first hit can critical hit, each successive hit after will deal the same amount of damage.

Fury Swipes will end immediately if it breaks a Substitute. Bide and Counter will only acknowledge the last hit of this move.

Generation IV

Same as Generation I, except it will continue attacking after a Substitute is broken.

Meowth. Meowth's claws glow white. It then repeatedly scratches the opponent.

Sandshrew. Sandshrew slashes the opponent repeatedly with its claws.

Golduck. Golduck repeatedly swipes at the opponent with its claws.

Nidoran ♀. Nidoran ♀ repeatedly scratches the opponent with its claws.

Nidoran ♂. Nidoran repeatedly scratches the opponent.

Purugly. Purugly's claws come out, glow white, and then slash the opponent.

Psyduck. It slashes the opponent repeatedly with its claws.
