Flying Pikachu (Japanese: そらをとぶピカチュウ Air-Fly Pikachu) is a Lightning-type Basic Pokémon card. It was released as a promotional card in Japan only. This page uses the English equivalents of Japanese names.

	Fly そらをとぶ	30
Flip a coin. If heads, during your opponent's next turn, prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to Flying Pikachu; if tails, this attack does nothing (not even damage).

Release information

This card was released as a promotional card. In Japan, it was released as a special card by All Nippon Airways in 1998. Passengers flying in conjunction with the “Pokémon Getaways” campaign could redeem their boarding passes for the 2 card set including Flying Pikachu and Dragonite. The card was never released in English.

Trivia

• This card is identical to Flying Pikachu, with the exception that it features an aeroplane in the illustration.

Since the release of this card, Pikachu that know Fly have appeared in other Pokémon media. A Pikachu with Fly can be downloaded to a Pokémon video game at certain events.

Origin

Thundershock is a move in the Pokémon games that Pikachu can learn. Fly is also a move, but Pikachu cannot learn it under normal conditions.
