Trivia
- In Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, Fearow weighs as much as the male protagonist of the game.
- Fearow's "mane" is at least 3x as large as it was at its debut.
- Its RSE and FR/LG sprites are mirror images.
Origin
Its appearance may be vaguely based off of the cormorant, or even more closely to that of an anhinga.
Name origin
Fearow's name is a combination of the words fear and sparrow. Its Japanese name can be taken to mean 鬼ドリル, demon drill, although it is worth noting that the first four syllables can be taken to mean 鬼鳥 onidori, demon bird.
