Trivia

  • Elekid's Pokédex entries between Generations III and IV are contradictory on whether Elekid can store electrical energy in its body.
  • Nintendo was concerned about making Elekid toys because children might put the prongs into a power outlet, which could electrocute the child.
  • Although it has no visible tail, Elekid can learn Iron Tail.
  • Elekid's normal and shiny colors were switched in the games from Generation III onward.
    • However, in its Sugimori Artwork and in the Anime, its color stayed the same.

Origin

Elekid is based on U.S. and Japanese domestic AC power plugs.

Name origin

Elekid's name is a combination of electricity and kid.
