Exploring a dungeon.

Dungeon is an area in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games. This is where rescues are done and where Pokémon can be recruited to the rescue team.

Dungeon structures

Dungeons are almost always constructed in their own unique way, as they are randomly designed each time you visit them. Some dungeons may be mountain-based, while some may be cave-based, some forest-based, and some based on other, unique places. Dungeons contain various floors, which can be accessed by stairs. Most dungeons end with a floor containing some treasure boxes, or with a Pokémon boss, usually legendary ones.

Pokémon

Depending on what a dungeon is based on, there will be all kinds of different Pokémon in it. For example, the dungeons Tiny Woods and Sinister Woods have a lot of Bug and Grass-type in them. However, some dungeons will be entirely mixed with different kinds of Pokémon. Some notable examples are the dungeons Buried Relic and Final Maze.
