Draco Meteor (Japanese: りゅうせいぐん Dragon Meteor Shower) is a damage-dealing Dragon-type move introduced in Generation IV.

Draco Meteor can only be tutored to Dragon-type Pokémon. This means that Pokémon like Charizard and Gyarados, despite their dragon-like characteristics, cannot be taught the move. Even Horsea, Seadra, Swablu, and Trapinch cannot learn the move, despite being related to Dragon-types. Similar to Blast Burn, Frenzy Plant, and Hydro Cannon, the Pokémon that the move is to be taught to must have a high happiness rating.

Trivia

  • Smeargle is one of only three non-Dragon-type Pokémon able to learn Draco Meteor, due to Sketch. The others are Jirachi and Arceus without Draco Plate (it needs to be holding the plate when it learns the move). Coincidentally, both Smeargle and Arceus are Normal-type.
  • Mew, though repeatedly said on the Pokédex to be able to learn any move, is not able to learn Draco Meteor because it can only be taught to Dragon-type Pokémon.
