Release information

This card was released in the English Team Rocket expansion, originating from the Japanese Crossing the Ruins... expansion. It was later reprinted in the English Legendary Collection expansion. An exclusive Non-Holofoil print of this card was present in that set's Turmoil Theme Deck. Unlike the Team Rocket set version, the reprint was not a Secret card.

  • This card was the first secret card in a TCG set. It was also the first card that was released internationally before it was released in Japan, in which it would later be printed in Crossing the Ruins... as a super-rare card.
  • The interior of this card's evolution box is light gray, not dark gray as opposed to other Pokémon with "Dark" in their names from the Team Rocket set. It appears this way even in the Legendary Collection print.
  • In the top-right corner of the card, it reads "Put Raichu on the Basic Pokémon", as opposed to the proper "Put Dark Raichu on the Basic Pokémon".
