Release information

This card was released in the HeartGold & SoulSilver expansion, origjnating from the Japanese SoulSilver Collection. In Japan, a specially stamped reprint of this card, along with five others, was awarded to those who won in Pokémon Center Card Free Battle events held at Pokémon Centers during the Autumn of 2009. This print has a generic Pokémon Center logo in the bottom right of the illustration. Winners could only select one of the six cards available at each event.

This card is extremely similar to another Chikorita card released previously. This card adds a Resistance of Water-20, has 10 more HP, and changes Tackle's cost to Grass instead of Colorless.

Tackle and Razor Leaf are both moves in the Pokémon games that Chikorita can learn. This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon SoulSilver. Professor Elm's lab is featured in the illustration.
