Camouflage (Japanese: ほごしょく Camouflage) is a non-damaging Normal-type move introduced in Generation III.
Effect
Camouflage changes the Pokémon's type to a type corresponding to the battlefield terrain.
- If Camouflage is used on grasslands or water puddles, the user becomes a Grass-type Pokémon.
- If Camouflage is used on sand or marsh, the user becomes a Ground-type Pokémon.
- If Camouflage is used on rocky surfaces and caves, the user becomes a Rock-type Pokémon.
- If Camouflage is used on or under water, the user becomes a Water-type Pokémon.
- If Camouflage is used on snowy fields or ice, the user becomes an Ice-type Pokémon.
- If Camouflage is used on a plain terrain or a building floor, the user becomes a Normal-type Pokémon.
In contests, the appeal points earned depends on the appeal points earned by the preceding Pokémon. If it was below three, the user gets double the appeal points. However, if it was greater than three, the user receives no appeal points.
