Template

The template says it only lasts for 3 days, why is this? Gliscorguy54 15:50, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Will someone please answer me? Gliscorguy54 16:35, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
You can only have the template up for 3 days. It wouldn't be fair to keep the page reserved for a whole month. So, choose wisely and only place the template when you are sure you have 3 days to complete your entry. Jellotalk 18:35, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
A question, what happens if you finish in a day (or less)? does this mean we can't edit another until the days are up? Ataro 03:31, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
The time is most just a frame at which you should finish, as to be courteous to other who may want to do the page. Feel free to do more if you have lready finished one. The time mostly gives a stronger personal deadline on how ling it should take you to finish your edit. MaverickNate 03:40, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Multiple entries

I read the page backwards and forwards, and I just wanted to make sure: can we have more than one entry? I'd like to get confirmation before I go off and work on all 52,746 of the articles and submit every single one of the diffs. Thanks. chiefboz (my talk and contributions) 23:37, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

You are allowed to have multiple entries, but only one of them can actually win. This also means that you can only reserve one page at a time. Jellotalk 23:42, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
Got it. Thanks for the help. chiefboz (my talk and contributions) 23:48, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Different Country

Hi. Just wondering, can people from other countries enter? I live in Australia so I'm not sure what would happen if I, somehow, won. Sorry if this was mentioned on the page already! --Rankurusu 05:25, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

If you win then the prize will be shipped to Australia. Werdnae (talk) 05:34, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
Wow! Sounds awesome! Thanks for giving me the answer! --Rankurusu 06:49, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Creating pages

Does the contest apply to creating pages, or turning redirects into pages (specifically the status ailment pages)? --SnorlaxMonster 10:12, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

It applies to any edit. If you wanted to turn the Paralysis redirect into a page (for example), then it would certainly be considered. Just a note for people reading this though, pages which redirect because they are considered not notable will be turned back into redirects. So don't bother trying to enter a page like Rudy's Starmie. Werdnae (talk) 18:10, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Size of Edit

Im still kinda new to the whole editing deal, although I have typed up some synopsis for episodes before I haven't really edited an entire page in order to make it complete. So I was wondering how much change would I have to make to a page in order to be considered. And also how would I go about submitting an edited page.--Terry08 10:15, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
Any entry will be considered, but the more you can improve the page, the more likely you are to win. To submit your page, go to the page and click on the history tab at the top. Click the radio button on the left for the last edit by someone else before you started, and the radio button on the right for your last edit. Then click the "Compare selected revisions" button. That will take you to what's called a "diff", showing you everything that has been changed on the page during those edits. Copy the URL and follow the instructions at the top of this page. Werdnae (talk) 17:59, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Walkthroughs

I'm considering revamping a walkthrough for my entry. How should I go about doing this? Should I submit just the main page or all of the section pages? --EricDLee 00:43, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

You should be submitting a "diff". You can obtain a "diff" by going to the history of the article and choosing your revision and the previous revision, and then clicking "Compare revision". After that, you copy the URL of that "diff" and submit that. Jellotalk 01:00, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
I was wondering if a walkthrough diff counts as one sumbission, or if I should submit individual diffs for each section I edit. --EricDLee 01:10, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
If you're doing more than one page (I assume this is what you meant by each section), then you are welcome submit diffs of each individual page. Jellotalk 01:13, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
For example, if I revamped the entire FRLG Walkthrough, would I submit one diff or seventeen diffs? - unsigned comment from EricDLee (talkcontribs)
You can submit all of the 17 diffs, but each entry/diff would get judged individually. Therefore, only one entry of yours can be eligible to win. Jellotalk 01:32, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
Got it, thanks so much! --EricDLee 01:34, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Hello I'm confused about entering. When i copy my link for the diff and when I paste it it looks different to the other links. How can I change this. WhenI paste mine it looks like a real link but the other entrants have names to the link. Pokeams 17:20, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

After the link, put a space and then type the title of the page. For example for your last edit to this talk page, you would put "[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/w/index.php?title=Bulbapedia_talk:Christmas_Improvement_Drive&diff=1280934&oldid=1279546 Bulbapedia talk:Christmas Improvement Drive]", which would give you this: Bulbapedia talk:Christmas Improvement Drive Also, please sign your comments by putting four tildes (~~~~) at the end, rather than manually putting a link at the start. Thanks, and I hope that helps. Werdnae (talk) 01:33, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I have another question but t does not pertain to the contest. I can't find anywhere else to post it so I gonna post it here. How do you make your name change from red to blue. I mean like having a page for the name. i don't know how to do it. Please help me someone. Like to customize your own page, how do you do that. Pokeams 17:20, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

To edit your user page you need to be autoconfirmed, you become autoconfirmed by making a certian amount of edits and being a user for a certain amount of time. Pikiwyn talk 18:19, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

Judging

I have a question about judging that is easiest to explain using an example. Say there's a user who submits one page that's been edited to be almost perfect and another one who has four pages that fall just short of that. Which user would do better in this contest? →ΑΧΧΟΝΝfire 21:46, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

Though you are allowed multiple entries, each page is judged individually. Jellotalk 03:01, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

Template exploration

The page said the template would expire automaticly in three days. I'm pretty sure it has been three days, yet the template I had put on the Mirage Pokémon page is still up. I had finished early when I worked on that page, basicly what I am asking is if we should take the templates down manualy if we finish early?--EpicShadow 22:37, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Yes. The template won't delete itself. Once you've finished with it, please remove it. The time limit just means that after that point other people can remove the template and edit the page. Werdnae (talk) 22:40, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
The template is not there as a guideline for how long it should take; it is a limit on how long you should take. --SnorlaxMonster 23:31, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
Okay. Thanks for that information, I have removed it now.--EpicShadow 00:34, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Banning high traffic articles

I think there should be a ban on entering high traffic articles in this contest. Take M13. It recently came out on DVD and needs to be updated. Also, the English release date was revealed and no one can add it in except the user who chose it for the contest.

This also happened with Dent a while back and the user who chose it didn't even do anything to it.

It's highly inconvenient for a user to claim an article that has so many new updates flooding in. --ケンジガール 02:48, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Perhaps if we decrease the reserve time to one day? To me, this is just a variation of the {{inuse}} template that lasts too long. --SnorlaxMonster 02:51, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Deadline

Does the deadline *include* December 24? Do I still have 21 hours to submit something? Zhorken 03:09, 24 December 2010 (UTC)

Never mind, the "last day" header answers my question. Zhorken 03:59, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Yeah. Once that clock at the top by your username ticks over to midnight the competition will close. Immediately. At that time the entries page will be protected and no further entries will be accepted, even if the edits were made in time. In other words, remember to give yourself at least five minutes to put your entry in. The clock's ticking, only 14 hours 22 minutes left. Werdnae (talk) 09:38, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
So what if we're in a different time zone? No countdown clock on the front page or anything? That's lame. MagicBarrier 02:34, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
There's a clock at the top of the page by your username. At the top of every page. Any time there's a time on the wiki, that is the clock we'll go by. Werdnae (talk) 02:44, 25 December 2010 (UTC)

The Prize

When it says "a pre-order" dose that mean it will be payed for ? Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 17:46, 24 December 2010 (UTC)

Yes. Werdnae (talk) 18:13, 24 December 2010 (UTC)

Judging progress?

Any word on how far along the judging is? Or how much longer it might be? Zhorken 23:38, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

At time of your writing, it had been completed. For those who have not yet seen, the winners have now been announced. Congratulations to all winners, and thanks to all participants. —darklordtrom 23:00, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
