Project SpriteDex To-do List

Use these tables as guides to know what needs to be fixed -

  • Generation I - 56 x 56 pixels.
  • Generation II - 56 x 56 pixels, for animated no less than 56 x 56 pixels.
  • Generation III - 64 x 64 pixels, for animated no less than 64 x 64 pixels.
  • Generation IV - 80 x 80 pixels, for animated no less than 80 x 80 pixels.
  • Generation V - 96 x 96 pixels, for animated no less than 96 x 96 pixels.


  • Upload sprites to complete sprite tables, etc.
  • Make sure that the sprites that are being uploaded are not duplicates of other sprites. For sprites that are duplicates, the summary tag is placed on the older game's sprite file instead of being uploaded. The newer file is then redirected to the older game's sprite file.
    • Fix animated regular Pokémon Crystal sprites. Many of them are animated to move too fast.
    • Fix animated shiny Pokémon Crystal sprites. Many of them are animated to move too fast.
    • Upload missing animated regular Pokémon Diamond/Pearl sprites at 80 x 80 pixels for those that can fit in those dimensions, other sprites need to be no smaller than 80 x 80 pixels (in apng format).
    • Upload missing animated shiny Pokémon Diamond/Pearl sprites at 80 x 80 pixels for those that can fit in those dimensions, other sprites need to be no smaller than 80 x 80 pixels (in apng format).
    • Upload missing animated regular Pokémon Platinum sprites at 80 x 80 pixels for those that can fit in those dimensions, other sprites need to be no smaller than 80 x 80 pixels (in apng format).
    • Upload missing animated shiny Pokémon Platinum sprites at 80 x 80 pixels for those that can fit in those dimensions, other sprites need to be no smaller than 80 x 80 pixels (in apng format).

  • Fix the coloring on Pokémon Crystal regular front sprites.
    • Upload missing shiny back sprites for Pokémon Emerald at 64 x 64 pixels.
    • Upload missing shiny back sprites for Pokémon LeafGreen/FireRed at 64 x 64 pixels.
    • Upload missing shiny back sprites for Pokémon Platinum at 80 x 80 pixels.
      • Only sprites that are not duplicates of Pokémon Diamond/Pearl/HeartGold/SoulSilver shiny back sprites. For ones that are duplicates, add the missing summary to their respective pages.
    • Upload missing shiny back sprites for Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver at 80 x 80 pixels.

Let's get to work! There are many nonexistant, nontransparent, and nonanimated sprites out there, and our goal is to make that number zero!
