Barrier (Japanese: バリアー Barrier) is a non-damaging Psychic-type move introduced in Generation I.

Effect
Barrier increases the user's Defense by two stages. Barrier will do nothing if the user's Defense has reached a stage of +6 or a value of 999. The effect of Barrier is ignored by critical hits.

Mr. Mime. Mr. Mime waves its arms and a glass square appears in front of it.
- Used by Delia Ketchum's Mimey from It's Mr. Mime Time to Present. Debut.
- Used by Stella's Mr. Mime in It's Mr. Mime Time.
Mewtwo. Mewtwo rises in the air and a blue barrier appears around it.
- Used by Mewtwo in Mewtwo Strikes Back.
Mew. Mew raises into the air and a pink barrier appears around it.

Togepi. A blue barrier appears around Togepi and others, shielding it from any attack.
