Barlow (Japanese: バロウ Barrow) is the muscle-bound leader of the Vientown ranger base and a graduate of the Ranger School. His partner is a Makuhita. Although he looks tough, he'd prefer Big Bertha to carry most heavy objects. He also might be afraid of water, as he prefers not to go with the main character on the Puel Sea mission. He is unique among Rangers with the fact he will do a Target Clear without a Pokémon, but rather use brute force while yelling "TARGET CLEAR!," even calling it his trademark Field Move in Operation Brighton. This is first seen after the player rescues him on Team Dim Sun's Cargo Ship, where he crashes through locked doors. While he is very important in the beginning of the story like the other Area Rangers, when the player advances to the Ranger Union, he is seen less in the game.

He is seen in other small missions later after you complete the game.
