Trivia

  • Bagon is the second non-Bug-type Pokémon (after Larvitar) to go through a metamorphosis-like evolution.
  • Bagon and its evolutionary line are the only Pokémon that are exclusively in the Dragon egg group.

Origin

Bagon is based on a dragon, but possibly draws some aspects from pachycephalosaurus, a species of two-legged dinosaurs known for their domed heads.

Name origin

Bagon's name is possibly a combination of baby and dragon. Its Japanese name is a combination of 竜 tatsu, dragon, and possibly English baby.
