Anticipation (Japanese: きけんよち Danger Premonition) is an ability introduced in Generation IV. Five Pokémon have this ability.

Effect
In battle
Anticipation causes the Pokémon to "shudder" upon entering battle against opponents with super-effective attacks, one-hit knockout attacks such as Sheer Cold, or the moves Selfdestruct or Explosion.
It will not notify the Pokémon in the case of a super-effective Hidden Power, Judgment, Weather Ball or Natural Gift, as they are nominally Normal-type.
In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2, a Pokémon detects super-effective moves by hitting the opponent with a regular attack.
Outside of battle
Anticipation has no effect outside of battle.
