Trivia
- Poké TV: "Burn! Pokémon Challenge!!" focusing on Fletchinder.
- The Poké TV segment was skipped for the initial broadcast of the episode and replaced with a trailer for the third XY series movie.
- In the Japanese version, the title card segment focuses on Serena and is read by Clemont.
- Clemont and Ash narrate the preview of the next episode.
- Serena does not wear her hat throughout this episode.
- When Jimmy plays his guitar, silhouettes of Pikachu's old design can be seen in the background.
- During one of Meowth's boss fantasies, Giovanni is seen with an orange suit, much like his design from the original series.
Errors
- When Greninja uses Cut to cut Pikachu's Electro Ball during their practice battle, the brown patch on Pikachu's tail is abnormally larger than usual.
- This happens again in the scene when Team Rocket's truck drives through the bushes holding the captured Pikachu.
- While Serena is nursing Ash to health, Sylveon's feet are cream colored rather than darker pink.
- While Pikachu and Tongari fire a Thunderbolt at one another and are airborn as it collides, Ash's Pikachu is missing the two brown stripes on his back and red circle on his cheeks.
- When the group watches Jimmy and Tongari as Jimmy plays the guitar, Dedenne's tooth is missing.
