Facing the Grand Design! (Japanese: カラマネロ対マーイーカ ！絆は世界を救う！！ Calamanero VS Maaiika! The Bonds that Would Save the World!!) is the 54th episode of the XY series, and the 853rd episode of the Pokémon anime. It first aired in Japan on December 25, 2014.
Plot
The episode begins where Inkay is eating a croissant along with Team Rocket. Then James asks it it really love to eat croissants.

- James attempts to release Inkay, but Inkay decides to stay with him.

- One of the flashbacks with James and Inkay features James disguising Inkay as Pikachu while wearing an Ash disguise himself. In the scene, his hair is colored gray just like his gloves instead of dark cyan.
