Whitney's Miltank (Japanese: アカネのミルタンク Akane's Miltank) is Whitney's main battling Pokémon in the anime and games.

In the anime

Miltank appeared in the episode A Goldenrod Opportunity where she battled Ash Ketchum in a Gym battle. With a powerful Rollout attack, Miltank was able to take out all of Ash's Pokémon, easily thereby defeating him.

Miltank also appeared in A Dairy Tale Ending where Ash found out that the reason why Miltank was so strong was because it trained by using Rollout to roll up and down a steep hill.

Team Rocket then appeared to steal all of their Pokémon in a giant barrel-shaped mecha which rolled on the hill. Ash used Totodile to create holes on the ground to slow the mecha down and then used Pikachu to blast them off again. He realized he could use the same strategy against Whitney.

He used Cyndaquil to tire Miltank out, Totodile's Water Gun attack to dig trenches to divert Miltank's Rollout, and subsequently had Pikachu knock her out. With this win Ash earned the Plain Badge.

Miltank was later seen in Lyra's fantasy in Bagged Then Tagged!, along Whitney, as well as Morty and his Gengar, when Lyra mentioned that her next Gym battle would be against either of those two Trainers.

Whitney sometimes refers to her Miltank as 'Milty', as seen in A Dairy Tale Ending.

Whitney's Miltank appears in the Pokémon Adventures manga. It has the nickname Mil Mil. It debuted in chapters Smeargle Smudge and How Do You Do, Sudowoodo? during Gold's and Whitney's bike race. Miltank was seen again at the Mahogany Gym in Irked Igglybuff and Curmudgeonly Cleffa, where it was used in battle against Pryce's Suicune-shaped ice sculpture. Whitney used Miltank also during her battle with Misty in Mighty Flight, Noctowl!. However, Miltank was quickly defeated by Misty's Starmie.

Whitney's Miltank in Golden Boys

Miltank also appears in the Pokémon Gold & Silver: The Golden Boys manga. She first appears in For Pikachu's Sake!! The Search For The Missing Farfetch'd as a use of transportation. Miltank battles Gold's Bayleef. During the battle, when her Rollout crashes at Bayleef's Protect, she accidentally causes a rock slide that almost hurts Cleffa. However, she was able to rescue Cleffa by using Rollout to get to Cleffa faster. Later, Whitney sends out Miltank to deal with a giant tree that was blocking the path to Route 36. However, her Tackle was proven ineffective. In A Promise Given to Miltank, she battles with Gold's Croconaw during their rematch. However, Miltank becomes very sick along with the other Miltank at MooMoo Farm and the only way to cure Whitney's Miltank was to feed her several Berries before sundown. After Gold and Whitney find some berries for Miltank, Miltank is fed the berries and she starts to feel better.
