Release information

The non-holographic version of this card was reprinted in the Base Set 2 reprint set, which was only released outside of Japan.

Trivia

A number of early Unlimited run prints have no Jungle expansion symbol. This error occurs on the holographic version only.

Origin

Shift's and Venom Powder's Japanese names are those of Color Change and Shield Dust, respectively, two Abilities later introduced in the Generation III Pokémon games. Venomoth can have Shield Dust, but not Color Change. This card's English Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Red and Blue, though it is slightly reworded. The Japanese entry comes from Pokémon Red and Green.
