Welcome to Bulbapedia, Zewis29!

Here are a few links to help you get started:

The Manual of Style, or MoS, outlines the format of all pages on Bulbapedia.

All of our administrators are here to help! Talk to them if you have any questions or problems with Bulbapedia.

On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~), or by using the "Your signature with a timestamp" (button_sig.png) button at the top of the edit window.

The Userspace Policy says that you should keep userspace edits (edits to User:Zewis29) to a minimum, and outlines a few other guidelines for your userspace.

For a complete list of policies and editing advice, please see the Welcome Portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Help! If anyone is reading this, (like an administrator,) it won't let me make my user page. It says that I don't have permission to edit things in the user namespace. I would like to be able to. I haven't done anything wrong, or much of anything, yet, for that manner, so please help! --Zewis29 10:50, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Hi Zewis29, I am an administrator. If you read the userspace policy linked above you will understand that you have to be an established user before you can create userspace pages. Please help Bulbapedia's article content grow before editing your personal userpage. Thanks. —darklordtrom 10:54, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

That's what I thought. Thank you very much! --Zewis29 10:58, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

You thought right. I look forward to working with you. Before you get stuck in, could you do me a favour? Go to your userpage, click edit, and copypaste the message you get here. Cheers. —darklordtrom 11:03, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

OK, here it is:

You do not have permission to edit this page, for the following reason:
You do not have permission to edit pages in the User namespace. If you are a new user, you will need to edit existing articles before you can edit your userpage.

But it didn't have that last sentence before. Hey, how do you get a cool font on your signature? --Zewis29 11:09, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Aha! I changed the right page! Umm.... signature help is here. —darklordtrom 11:17, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Got it. Thanks. I'll just keep editing. This is my new signature: ----<span style="color:green">Zewis</span> <small>( 11:56, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

And now you have to go to your preferences and put a check in the box. —darklordtrom 11:58, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

That didn't work... I'll just stick to this: --Zewis29 15:03, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Link Templates

Please use link templates when linking to stuff such as Pokémon names, attacks, and the like. For example, Bulbasaur instead of just Bulbasaur. This is so you don't unintentionally link to a disambiguation page.

For a full crash course on link templates, look at the list of link templates. --Psyライダー 15:48, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Understood.--Zewis29 16:19, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Preview button

The preview button, next to the save page button can be used to check what the page will look like when it is saved. For Gliscor you had the right idea, but link templates need Curly Brackets like this Staravia, as opposed to Square brackets like this Staravia If square brackets are used it will try to link to the first part (in this case a page called p) with the text of the second part. Werdnae (talk) 22:39, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

I did not know that! I thought that there was a way to view the page. Thanks for the help with the brackets and stuff.--Zewis29 23:19, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

Remember that you need to use the curly brackets for all link templates, not just p. Hyper Beam links to a page called m, which actually exists, redirecting to an article on a glitch Pokémon, rather than linking to Hyper Beam (move). Thanks, and keep up the good work. Werdnae (talk) 22:16, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

Okay, thanks. (This is why I dislike glitch Pokémon...) --Zewis29 00:06, 9 May 2010 (UTC)

Again, please use the preview button, especially if you're only doing something like making sure your signature works. ▫▫ティナ 21:47, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks ----Zewis29 (Talk, Contribs) 22:47, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

Testing, testing, 123

Just testing my new signature. Cross your fingers. ----<span style="color green">Zewis</span> <small>(<span style="color:yellow">Talk</span> <span style="color:red">Contribs</span> 21:32, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

And again. ----[[User:Zewis29|Zewis="color:green" 21:35, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

And again. ----Zewis="color:green" 21:37, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

Check the Treat signature as wikitext (without an automatic link) box in your preferences. Also, you can test it by previewing, you don't need to save the page. Werdnae (talk) 21:39, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks! ----Zewis29 (User talk:Zewis29, Special:Contributions/Zewis29) 21:43, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

Usertag policy

Please take the time to revise the Usertag policy before creating usertemplates in the template space. I realise the Usertag page said the opposite; I guess we forgot to change that page when we created the new policy last year. —darklordtrom 21:31, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm not really into making usertags anymore. I spent a while making one and it didn't even work. I think I'll stick with the one's I have. Thanks. ----Zewis29 (Talk, Contribs) 21:34, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

So do you want me to delete the one that I shifted into your userspace? —darklordtrom 21:37, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I think that would be OK, but I'm not quite sure what you mean. If it's the water gun one, then you can delete that.----Zewis29 (Talk, Contribs) 21:40, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Template

I'm thinking of making a navigational template for my userpage that looks like the party one. Am I allowed to do this? I'm pretty sure I am, so I'm going to make one, but if someone knows otherwise, please tell me so that I don't get in trouble . ----Zewis29 (Talk, Contribs) 17:30, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

It has to be in your userspace, you can call it by putting . Jello 20:20, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

I put it as just Template:Zewis29 Nav. But it doesn't work when I try to use it. ----Zewis29 (Talk, Contribs) 20:25, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

That's because it has been moved to the location Jello specified. Werdnae (talk) 20:29, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
You can't put a template that's for your userspace in the mainspace (aka Template:Zewis29 Nav) It has to be in your Userspace, which Tina has moved to at User:Zewis29/Nav. It works the same way and you can put it in your userpage by doing what I told you above. Jello 20:33, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Got it, sorry. Can I put it on my pages? I don't get how. ----Zewis29 (Talk, Contribs) 23:11, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi

I noticed you have been editing the User: namespace a lot recently. Please don't do it any more, though. Bulbapedia's Userspace policy restricts the amount you can edit your userpage. This policy was instated to prevent strain on our server, and also to promote people helping out in the mainspace. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, after all, so help us out by contributing to some articles before coming back to your personal userpage. The more often you edit in the mainspace, the more you will be allowed to edit your userpage. Thanks! -- Jello 20:20, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Okay, so I'm not allowed to anymore. Fine. Can I edit it later if I edit the mainspace more often? I really like editing both. Wait, did I exceed my daily edits, I don't think I did, unless I misunderstood the policy. And my new navigational template won't work, and it shows up telling me I might be deleted off of Bulbapedia. But, no more Userpages. ----Zewis29 (Talk, Contribs) 20:30, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

You've been editing your page a lot in yesterday and today. Bulbapedia isn't about userpages, so I suggest you concentrate more on the mainspace. You could have easily gotten warned and had your userpage protected from further editing. Jello 20:33, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Okay, tone down userspace, more mainspace, got it. Can I somehow get a message on my userpage that says something like, "This user is on voluntary userspace probation. He will edit his userpage at a later time. Thank you for understanding."? ----Zewis29 (Talk, Contribs) 23:14, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
