Welcome

Welcome to Bulbapedia, Yami Takashi!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

  • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
  • Read over the style primer before making your edits. It is a basic outline of Bulbapedia style. For a more in-depth set of rules, see the manual of style.
  • Keep an eye on the Messages from the Editor on the main page, to stay informed on current events on Bulbapedia.
  • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The é can be accessed by holding Alt and typing either 130 or 0233 on a Windows computer, and by using Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can easily click it in the character palette below the editbox.
  • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a capital B. The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
  • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon or other media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
  • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
  • The use of link templates is official policy.
  • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
  • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
  • For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
  • Image uploading is done on Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki accessible through the toolbox in the sidebar. This is done so that both Bulbapedia and Bulbanews have access to the images uploaded. To activate your account at the Archives and Bulbanews, please login there using the same username and password you use here on Bulbapedia.
  • If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Yami Takashi/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
  • Having said this, please make sure that you do contribute adequately to the main namespace. Bulbapedia is not MySpace or Facebook.
  • A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here! --MoldyOrange 01:46, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

Thank you and you also have a pleasant day as well. Yami 01:52, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

You might not have known this (maybe someone should put it in the welcome) but, we only use the ampersand (&) in titles, such as Diamond & Pearl (TCG) (the set's title has the ampersand). For everything else, it is common practice to use the word "and". MoldyOrange 02:05, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

I thought i did put that in the trivia section. i guess i saw the t and town and added that there by accident. Yami 02:21, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

That's okay, nothing a simple move couldn't fix. ;) But I saw this when I moved it. You linked to May in reference to "May (anime)." Because the May in the games and the May in the anime are on different pages, simply putting [[May]] wouldn't put the link where it needed to go. When talking about anime May, put {{an|May}}. And when talking about game May, put {{ga|May}}. I hope this clears some things up if you were wondering why I changed it. MoldyOrange 02:25, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

ok that'll make it a lot easier to link, and i didn't notice you changed it.

I only got mad when you reverted the Ash smile thing without saying why, but i'm not going get mad if you fix the info. Yami 02:45, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

We have a lot of helpful templates like that one for linking. Check out the list of link templates when you have time; it's long, I'll admit, but everything in it is useful. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 02:53, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

Hey man.

Look, I'm sorry for what I did earlier, but honestly, if you see it from my side of things, it was hilarious. Notice some of the usertags on my page. I'm Anonymous. We do this. We make fun of people who don't listen to us.

Anyway, I hope we can both put it behind us, and forget the whole thing. TTEchidna 02:29, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

i agree. i dont hold grudges and am more than willing to put this behind us. -- MAGNEDETH 02:45, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

yeah here too Yami 02:46, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

hmm. you still need to take a chill pill. Just ChillDCM((Mock MeEdits)) 18:21, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Trivia on Mauville

Anyone think that trivia I added needs cleaning up, its a long trivia but all the connections are there. Really I've always thought that SRE was just a ripe off/clone of RBGY and GSC.

The cities are a mix between past cities, and the Pokémon are like counterparts for the previous games.

Like Seedot-Shiftry is a throwback to Oddish-Vileplume and Lotad-Ludicolo is a throw back to both Bellsprout-Victreebel and Poliwag-Poliwrath/Politoed. Ludicolo is very much like a Politoed in behavior and color scheme.

If i didn't think it would get deleted i'd make a whole article on the counterparts and similarities in the games and generations. Just like how people put the 2 and 2 together that The beaster were like the bird. or that the trios had a master.

I have a thing where i notice patterns as explained by my userpage.Yami 03:04, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

I did one of those for Pokémon, but it's only half done.
I also noticed that the Champion battle music sounds kinda like the rival theme. TTEchidna 03:07, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

yeah cool, though Skitty and Delcatty is more like meowth and Persian then the fairy family. and Whisper to loudred would be counterparts to the jigglies and maybe fairies. Shroomish and Breloom would be Paris and Parasect's counterparts its llate so i don't got time to spell them right.

Wow i can't believe we both compared oddish and seedot. Yami 03:19, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

Either way don't overdo the trivia. We don't need to tell a person everything about the Pokémon world on one page. TTEchidna 05:27, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

Hi

I noticed you have been editing the User: namespace a lot recently. You may not be aware of this, but Bulbapedia has a Userspace policy that asks users to try and minimize the number of userspace edits they make in a short period of time. Instead of making multiple edits, why not use the Preview button (Alt + Shift + P) located right next to the edit button to look at your page and see how it is coming? That way, your page can look great while staying within the required amount of edits. Instead of editing the userspace, as a wiki, we encourage users to edit the mainspace. So, if you edit the mainspace more often, you will be allowed to edit the userspace more. Thanks! --Kevzo8 12:42, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

I've been using the preview button, and i do edit the main space. Yami 12:45, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, try to add Main Space contribs in between those. You don't want to end up like me. :D tc²₆tc26 12:48, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
So what your saying is that while i edit my userpage i should also put down what i've made contributions too? I've made several contributions to the DP105 article. Mostly in the trivia and fixing an error that labeled a utility worker as a miner. Yami 12:51, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Lol @ teacey. You'll be lifted from the abuse group soon. ^__^ And, Yami, he means balance your contributions. Main space > user/talk spaces. Thanks, Kevzo8 12:55, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Your Userpage

The reason we've been reverting you, is that something on your page causes the userpage to be categorized with mainspace pages. That's why we've been reverting you, so please just leave it like it is now. Thank you. --PsychicRider 04:02, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

next time contact me on the talk page if there is a problem. I would remove it if it was causing problems for the site. Communication is not that hard.

I don't know everything there is to this site, i don't know your lingo and when you just go and remove stuff throwing the word "Categorizes" with no explanation it causes problems. Worse when you try and squeeze it into the limited space of the summary bar. Yami 04:06, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Hold on!

If you did not read your last warning, then please read it now. You have edited the User: namespace too much for now. Please do not edit your page any more for now. Thank you. --RexRacer 14:38, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

That warning is old, and I've been spreading my edits out over the main space. Yami 14:39, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

DP105

I don't need you to tell me how to edit. I've been here long enough to know that. And your reverting as well. --HoennMaster 14:55, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
