Welcome

Welcome to Bulbapedia, WolfMan of Light!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

  • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
  • The manual of style is very important. Make sure to read it. It outlines all official policies of Bulbapedia.
  • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The P, of course, is accessed easily by holding Shift and pressing the P key, while the é can be accessed using Alt + 130 or Alt + 0233 on a Windows computer, and Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can click it in the character palette below the editbox.
  • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a captial B (which is, again, accessed by holding Shift and pressing the B key). The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
  • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon or other media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
  • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
  • The use of link templates is official policy. For an explanation on their use, see the page on shortlinks.
  • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
  • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
  • For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
  • Image uploading is done on Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki accessible through the toolbox in the sidebar. You will have to register separately for it, as well. This is done so that both Bulbapedia and Bulbanews have access to the images uploaded.
  • If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:WolfMan of Light/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
  • Having said this, please make sure that you do contribute adequately to the main namespace. Bulbapedia is not MySpace or Facebook.
  • A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem, can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here! PL12 22:15, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Linking

Linking to other articles is done by placing brackets around an item, not parenthesis. Try Ash Ketchum as opposed to ((Ash Ketchum)). --ニョロトノ666 19:43, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

No opinions

Do not put opinions on our pages. --ケンジガール 09:47, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Charizard

"*Charizard has often been called Ash's most powerful pokemon due to his battle performance, it's evolutionary stage and it's level."

  1. By whom? Don't insert opinions into articles.
  2. Pokémon, not pokemon.
  3. It's is a contraction of it is. Somehow, I doubt that Charizard is either evolutionary stage or level. Use its, the possessive form of it, in these cases.
  4. Charizard's gender has never been confirmed one way or another, so you shouldn't refer to it as "him."

If you plan on re-adding this to the article, please address these issues first. --((Marton imos)) 19:00, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

"members of Pojo and Bulbaforums" is not a reliable source. It doesn't matter whether or not the opinion is actually yours; don't put it in the article. --((Marton imos)) 23:27, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Please

Slow down on editing the User: namespace. There are only three userspace edits allowed per day, and you have gone over the limit. Editing your userpage too much will lead to it being locked again. Instead of making multiple small edits, why not instead use the preview button (Alt + Shift + P) to check your edits before saving the page? Thank you. --Gywall(Talk) 13:08, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Well it helps to let people know these things, Ugghh honestly no editing the talk page no editing the uder page more than three times a day, is there some kind or rule book Being unable to change or delete stupid things from your talk page is stupid 13:11, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

If the server running the place was free, then there wouldn't be such policies in place. Glinn Mgraw 13:16, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
First for the Userspace is Userspace Policy. It's found on the main page. The talk page policy is harder to find. You should be able to find most under the Bulbapedia policies category. Gywall(Talk) 13:19, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
Fine no more edits today then but how do I create a catagory for all the tags that I want to put in such as being a Leo and that, is there some kind of coding for it. Being unable to change or delete stupid things from your talk page is stupid 13:26, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
The category with all the user tags can be found right here. To add one to your profile, simply type in {{User Libra}}, and it will appear on your profile.
Also, if you use the Preview Button, you don't have to worry about going over your editing limit for the day. --PAK Man Talk 14:41, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
Well that clears things up loads, thanks very much PAK man Being unable to change or delete stupid things from your talk page is stupid 19:10, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
One more thing. I hope you don't plan to keep that as your regular signature. It's against our signature policy. If you already changed it than ignore this message. --ケンジガール 04:46, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Genders

HOLD IT! There's a policy on Bulbapedia, and this is it: "Everything on any article must be proven directly." That means no "OMG MAY'S BUBLSAUR LEIKS ASH'S SO AHS'S EES A MAIL." It is OBJECTIONABLE. What you SHOULD do is examine the evidence and check which one, without a doubt, proves that Ash's Bulbasaur is a [fe]male. I rest my case. Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links 14:43, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Yes. And don't leave offensive comments on talk pages because some people may think differently about a Pokémon's gender. --ケンジガール 06:41, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
Excuse me I have examined the evidence and I stick by what I said, Ash's Bulbasaur, Charizard, Totodile are male. Many female pokemon in the anime have fallen in love with a male and automatically been classed as a female so why not the male ones.De Wolfy is here 13:42, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
A female can fall in love with a female * ht14 13:43, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
I don't think they are going to allow that on the DUB anime especially the 4Kids side of it when May's Bulbasaur was in it. Also with Charla and the others.
OBJECTION. Sailor Moon? TAKE THAT! Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links 13:51, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Sailor Moon sorry I only seen a couple of episodes and well frankly I didn't know that it had Gay characters. De Wolfy is here 23:23, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
