Where'd you hear that the possibilities of hitting 2, 3, 4, or 5 times changed? You've changed the chances from 3/8, 3/8, 1/8, and 1/8 to 2/6, 2/6, 1/6, and 1/6. Other pages will have to updated as well if this is true, so we'd need your source. --IWannaBeTheVeryBest (talk) 03:26, 10 January 2013 (UTC)

Since you've done research on King's Rock/Razor Fang before, I thought you could help me sort out some conflicting information I'm finding. Does Serene Grace (and the Pledge rainbow) increase the chance of flinching with King's Rock/Razor Fang? Smogon says it does, but Bulbapedia says it doesn't. And if it does, does that mean it would also affect other items with a chance to trigger (such as Focus Band and Quick Claw)? The description of Serene Grace never specifies that it only applies to moves, which makes me wonder if it applies to items too. Also, on a related note, does the Pledge rainbow boost the probability of Abilities that only have a chance of happening (such as Effect Spore or Shed Skin, or most notably, Stench)? --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 05:05, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
::Serene Grace/Rainbow Pledge does increase the flinch chance for King's Rock/Razor Fang/Stench. It doubles the secondary effect chance of moves, King's Rock et al. just add an additional secondary effect to the move you're using, so I doubt it does for Focus Band and Quick Claw as well but there are no research records on it that I can find (Gen 3 was a long time ago). By extension I also doubt Rainbow Pledge has an effect on Effect Spore and Shed Skin, although there is nothing to prove it doesn't either. Once I can figure out a test scenario for it I can make sure though. --V4Victini (talk) 09:35, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
:::Okay, thanks for the help. I would understand if it only applied to those three that add a flinch chance, since it basically adds an effect to moves rather than just having a chance to trigger. Additional effects get tricky though, because as I understand it, Sheer Force uses a slightly different list from Shield Dust and Serene Grace/Pledge rainbow. --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 10:07, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
::::Thinking about it some more, Poison Touch is probably affected by the Pledge rainbow, since adds an effect to moves rather than just has a chance to activate and is blocked by Shield Dust (which I think uses the same list as Serene Grace, but I'm not 100% sure); also, I can't seem to find anywhere indicating whether or not the Poison Touch chance stacks with a move's chance to poison, but my guess is that it functions like Stench and doesn't. Only chance Abilities that I found and haven't mentioned (and aren't just variations of Effect Spore) are Cursed Body, Healer and Harvest, none of which seem particularly likely to be influenced by the Pledge rainbow. Anyway, sorry to bombard you with questions and thanks for your help. I'd usually just test things in-game myself, but it's not really possible to check properly when things "increase the chance". --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 16:13, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

 • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
 • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
 • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
 • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
 • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
 • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
 • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
 • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
 • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Changes button... Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Thanks! --Abcboy (talk) 05:50, 13 October 2012 (UTC)

Multi-strike move chances

Where'd you hear that the possibilities of hitting 2, 3, 4, or 5 times changed? You've changed the chances from 3/8, 3/8, 1/8, and 1/8 to 2/6, 2/6, 1/6, and 1/6. Other pages will have to be updated as well if this is true, so we need your source. --IWannaBeTheVeryBest (talk) 03:26, 10 January 2013 (UTC)

Tested it myself. There was some inconsistency between different sites so I tested it in-game (not empirically, through observing the RNG) and updated the information. --V4Victini (talk) 03:54, 10 January 2013 (UTC)

Serene Grace

--SnorlaxMonster 05:05, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

Serene Grace/Rainbow Pledge does increase the flinch chance for King's Rock/Razor Fang/Stench.

Thinking about it some more, Poison Touch is probably affected by the Pledge rainbow, since adds an effect to moves rather than just has a chance to activate and is blocked by Shield Dust (which I think uses the same list as Serene Grace, but I'm not 100% sure); also, I can't seem to find anywhere indicating whether or not the Poison Touch chance stacks with a move's chance to poison, but my guess is that it functions like Stench and doesn't.
