I love this! It clearly states a lot of the things that have to be constantly told to new users, especially things that aren't clear to those who have no experience editing wiki-style websites. Good job.--PhantomJunkie 06:13, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
I like the design. Nice, but not overwhelming. It could maybe do with an explanation of a what a good (or bad) edit is, maybe a mention of link templates, the é and the preview button too? I guess it's the only one I've read since the wall at the top of my talk page, so maybe it's just me. Werdnae (talk) 06:20, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
Purdy. Nice and short and straight to the point. It condenses all of the text on the old welcome page into a short little template. I like it. --Psyライダー 06:30, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
Is that placeholder text, or is that what we're going to be using? I hope it is what we're using, because the simple language gets the point across rather well. I like this a lot, though the header/footer seem a bit on the large side. If the padding was cut back a bit, I think it'd look better. ▫▫ティナ 06:32, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
If you can squish in the é, the preview button, and link templates without making it too huge, that would be pretty cool. Even without that stuff, this is excellent - straight and to the point and a lot less overwhelming than some of the older welcomes. --ZestyCactus 06:46, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Yaaaay lots of comments.

  • Phantomjunkie: that's what I was going for.
  • Werdnae: design credit isn't really very much mine at all. Good edits will be explained somewhere other than here. Preview button is in. I think the é will make it cluttered.
  • Psy: I like you.
  • Tina: that's the actual text. Simple language in policies is good. I like the header, but I've shrunk the footer as much as I know how. What do the rest of you think about these? My personal thoughts are that they should be large-ish to grab the reader's attention, given the the whole template is not swamped with green any more.
  • Zesty Cactus: think of some original comments ;)

I also changed the bold at the beginning of the first line. Do we like it how it is now, how it was before, or another way?

Next thing I want is opinions on the RHS column - two pictures or one picture? (and what do we use for the second picture if so?). Coloured background for the pictureboxes? And the redlink to wikicode will be made, at some point, I think. Also, official credit to Jio and Evan for unknowingly helping in this brief mashup of mine (seriously, it took like fifteen minutes, tops). —darklordtrom 10:30, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Looks great, when can we get it into use? Um, I'd say one picture is fine, two might be a bit cluttered and over the top. And what would it be? Bulbabot? Oh, and I like the bolding now. Werdnae (talk) 04:57, 7 August 2010 (UTC)

Is anyone other than electAbuzzzz having problems with the wrap? —darklordtrom 10:51, 7 August 2010 (UTC)

I already fixed the wrap, Tromboliny. I like this a lot. It takes all the advantages from our current version and the previous two versions and puts them together. It's easy to read, it sends the message, it's nice to look at, it's simple, and not intimidating. This is just how a welcome template should look like. --electAbuzzzz 10:48, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
I like it. Its... different, but just because I'm so use to the other one. Thumbs up!--Clarky13 12:12, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
