Hi, I'm new

I need a bit of help, and this is pretty odd, but... How do I get new box backgrounds in Jubilife TV, again?

TogePikachu 07:41, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

The best place to ask questions like this is on the Bulbagarden forums. However: the box background is called wallpaper and we have an article about that with links to generators. —darklordtrom 07:45, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Archive Images

Hello Trom. I know it says not to ask, but I need some of the images |moved on the archive as some of those are over a month old. I mainly need the Sprout Tower and Union Cave Eyecatches moved as I fixed the pages to correspond with their new locations. If I get could get some help it would be much appreciated. Thanks! –MasterKenobi 20:44, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Done. Next time though, don't create new images. Redirects work wonders. Don't forget about the DPPtHGSS sprites. We don't have a a:File:Spr 4p 001.png for instance. That's just a redirect. MK, can you upload Curelean Cave-Day though? ht14 20:48, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
Thanks Ht for doing that for me. I will make sure to use redirects, it just that I didn't know exactly how those worked for images. It was also so people didn't look at it and think that we were being inaccurate or something. Cerulean Cave was one of the first ones that I was working on so I forgot to check to make sure every image was there. I will make sure to upload it though and look over the rest. Thanks again. –MasterKenobi 05:37, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

Body?

Found one more: Template:GlitchPkmnInfobox, but it's hidden so only gen 3 and 4 Pokémon have it. --SnorlaxMonster 11:44, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Done. As is the other glitch template thing you got me to do ↑up there↑ (if you hadn't noticed). —darklordtrom 11:47, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
Yes, I saw that. I started removing those Color redirects from articles, but there is still a problem with Template:Moveentry and Template:Movelistglitch. --SnorlaxMonster 12:22, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
Also, the defaults on Template:GlitchEvobox/Setup simply need to be changed from Bird to Unknown. --SnorlaxMonster 12:50, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
Evobox is done. I don't see what needs to be chaned on moveentry - this template is used on move articles only. Do you perhaps mean {{mlentry1}}? Regarding {{Movelistglitch}}: just put "Unknown" for the variable that would usually be a glitch type. The type is not written down anywhere on the template; all you are doing is calling a color template. —darklordtrom 13:03, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
It is written on the template, down the type column. So Glitch should be used instead of IIIItoto here? As for move entry, it's used here and here. --SnorlaxMonster 13:17, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
That's actually on a different template which I have located and updated. The moventry should be done too now. Any further demands requests you have will be dealt with once I've woken up... in, like, five hours D: —darklordtrom 13:26, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Retrieving sprites

Can u retrieve the egg sprites from Project:CustomSprites that would be very much appreciated. DoTheWave 02:41, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Given the sheer volume of sprites that will take up a large amount of time that I currently don't have. I'll see what I can do later in the week, but no promises. —darklordtrom 06:55, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
Sorry to barge in, but what do you need them for? If anything, ask Tavisource. ht14 21:00, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
Tavis is not an admin. Unless he has all sprites saved on his computer, he won't be able to help. --electAbuzzzz 19:02, 20 April 2010 (UTC)

Redirection Question

Hey trom, need to ask something. There are two characters with the same name Shū. One is Drew from Advanced Generation and the other one is from Pokémon Get da ze!. The thing is that there is no redirection to Drew's article when we search Shu, it directly jump to that manga shu article. Shouldn't there be a disambiguation? Because Shu (that anime one) isn't a minor character afterall. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 14:39, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

My personal opinion on this issue is that the article at Shū should stay the manga character with the hatnote it currently has (the thing that says "If you were looking for...") because that is the only name we have for that character, whereas we have an English name for the other guy. If any of my talk page stalkers want to chime in, I'd like to hear what they have to say on this :) —darklordtrom 20:38, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Next time, don't forget to plonk a warning message on his talk page. That'll help us notice anything in future. —darklordtrom 00:46, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

Crystal

Sorry about removing that chunk without an explanation. I usually leave one, just was lazy tonight. I didn't think it was necesarry to have the starter Pokémon names, just seemed too long. I am gonna re-add about how the rival chooses the starter that the player's is weak is against. My bad. Jedi Striker 06:12, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

It's forgivable, but please don't be lazy. It can be really confusing to see a large chunk of text vanish with no explanation. Again, I urge you to use the link templates as mentioned by Zesty Cactus on your talk page. They'll prevent you from unintentionally linking to redirects or disambiguation pages. —darklordtrom 06:14, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Isshu Starters

Hey trom, apparently almost everything related to Pokabu, Tsutaaja and Mijumaru is under protection including there images. I've crystal clear + clean artwork images of these starters but I don't have the permission to upload them neither do any other normal user. Can you please add/upload them? Another user have also provided it's link (as he uploaded it on imageshack), you can save it from there and upload it here. Thank you. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 09:57, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

A concern with images is whether the image is fan-made or not. Where did you find the art from? —darklordtrom 10:11, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
It's fan edited (check Pokabu's back leg and Tsutaaja tail). By the way, the BW site says BW will be released Fall 2010. Page here only says 2010. tc²₆tc26 10:16, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
Hmm... didn't noticed that. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 10:25, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
Jioruji and I decided that including fan-edited art isn't necessarily a bad thing provided it is from an obscured scan and is noted as such. —darklordtrom 10:53, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

Gen 5 Artwork

I figured an Admin would be the best person to talk to - if we want artwork not edited from Coro Coro...yeah. Drake Clawfang 20:55, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

Most of it is already uploaded, if you bothered to check the Archives. Jello 21:13, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Just trying to be helpful, no need to be a dick. Drake Clawfang 22:00, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Jello was also trying to be helpful. If you want to upload stuff that's from the official BW site that's fine, but you need check that it's not there already. And follow the naming conventions, guys. File:bw-1.jpg is not a descriptive name at all. We want to know what the image is about before we see it. —darklordtrom 02:38, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, about the copyright

I personally, and by hand, cut out those sprites from multiple Sprite Sheets found on Google, not Bulbapedia. Yes, we might have a few ideas from your site, but you can't prove that any of those images were from Bulbapedia. As for our Diamond, Golden, Silver, and Bronze Charizard awards that we present to our best contributors, yes, it was an idea from Bulbapedia, however they're different as our site mascot is Charizard, not Bulbasaur. We don't have any GIFs that are in identical motion with any of yours, so you have no legal proof that those images are yours. As for giving credit? We plan to put your URL as a cousin site from ours on one of our high-traffic pages, in time. —RockSmashGuy 05:04, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Woah, way to get out of hand. Please stay calm.
I was never saying that you stole the images themselves from Bulbapedia. Stuff that's ripped from the games is anyone's content, after all. That part of my post was more to do with the fact that our naming conventions had been used. While we can't hold claim to them, it's a little upsetting to see something that Bulbapedia used developed on another site.
I had no idea you were using Golden Charizards. Don't get too defensive.
My main concern, and the concern of the Editorial Board, was that you took a whole stack of templates without permission. This violates the terms and conditions of Bulbapedia. A lot of users put their time and effort into creating those templates, and their work cannot be recognized without providing attribution at the time of publication.
Finally, if you want to continue any discussion, please do so on this page now that you have brought the issue to the BP end. Thanks. —darklordtrom 05:14, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Okay then, we'll try to make our own templates. Thanks for not escalating the problem ;). RockSmashGuy
Please ensure that you not only use your own original templates, but also remove all work unfairly taken from Bulbapedia. Editorial Board page, I'm looking at you D: —darklordtrom 05:43, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Don't upload any copyrighted images here, even if you have permission. Period. The reason behind that is that we generally want to stay out of the copyright stuff, as a precaution.
Every single image, picture, animation, and sprite of a Pokémon is copyrighted. —darklordtrom 05:52, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
You know that quote isn't represented literally! So, if it's copyrighted, doesn't Bulbapedia need permission to have them, Mr. Literal? Bulbapedia has no legal ownership over any sprites, so watch your mouth there, buddy. RockSmashGuy
Excuse me? Watch my mouth? Please refrain from harassing staff members. I'm only trying to help you.
Bulbapedia knows that the images are copyright, and we use them under fair use guidelines. I was only pointing out that by prohibiting copyright images, you shouldn't have all those sprites (e.g. File:Spr 3r 003 s.png). Why do you keep bringing up the issue of stolen sprites? I never said you stole our sprites. —darklordtrom 06:14, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Illusion

I'd like to make this page, however it is protected from being made. What should I do? SpecialK Leiks Lucario and the Celebi Glitch 12:48, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Don't make it. It's protected so that it will have no speculation. Right now the page would say "This is the ability of Zoroark and Zoroa. It makes them take the sprite of of the opposing Pokémon." When we have a substantial amount of information to make a page, an admin will.--SnorlaxMonster 13:19, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Trainer template?

Hi Trom, I was playing around and tried making one and I could use feedback. Or are you the wrong person to ask. Anyhow, thanks--FlyingSkymin23 22:38, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

For a start, you've broken the wiki. ... Kidding. But notice how the sidebar is all the way at the bottom? You haven't closed some tags that you've opened. Secondly, TTE got there first. —darklordtrom 00:58, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
D'oh! I guess I should stop trying to make templates now. BTW, do you know if he made a wild pokémon encounter table template with roundy corners? Because I was playing around with that idea. (Hopefully, my dreams aren't smashed).--FlyingSkymin23 01:21, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

re:"It's likely to have been Thursday 8 April, given my holiday plans. If there's one thing I'm good at remembering, it's dates I did stuff. If anyone wants a specific breakdown of why it's that date, email me or something :)"

Yeah out of interest why was it shown on that day? break it down.Cheers--Solid! 11:17, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

It's not as impressive as it sounds. Basically I read it in the TV Guide at my grandma's house the day before it aired, on that day I drove back to my city, and then the day it aired I was at work. —darklordtrom 06:52, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

I got it!

I got a template giving credit to Bulbapedia on the pages its used on here. I'll try to set up a time where i can insert the template into the proper pages :). I'm getting really sleepy, as I stayed up all night last night. —RockSmashGuy 15:14, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

That's a start. I strongly recommend that you completely recode everything you've taken from Bulbapedia, though. Give the wiki your own personal touch (because that EB page, although recolored and square, is still blatantly "borrowed"). —darklordtrom 06:52, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Need some possible help

I recently found an important conversation at Talk:List of Pokémon by National Pokédex number regarding a problem with the NDex link that someone noted at that talk page. Could you look into because if I recall that link follows the NDex follows the listing from Generation II and since the National Dex listing is locked down I am going to need your help for that page at least. -Tyler53841

I don't have time to fix it now. If I temporarily unprotect the page, can you work fast? —darklordtrom 07:57, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
Better yet remove the link from there, I deal with the rest of the stuff right now. -Tyler53841 08:00, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
NDex page is unprotected for you. Don't tell anyone and make your edits quick :P —darklordtrom 08:09, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
It's done though I might had made an unintentional mistake in my summary, but that was before I saw you response so hurry and re-protect and seriously I hope you do not get in trouble for this since I did offer you a way out of doing this and I'd feel partly responsible. -Tyler53841 08:15, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
Huh. That wasn't the problem I had in mind. But thanks anyway. —darklordtrom 08:58, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

Sorry about last night, but I did send a message to Kogoro that something needs to be done to eliminate confusion to other people since one my secondary objectives is to clear up confusion whenever possible. -Tyler53841 01:24, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

My point is that if I could be confused and the people who wrote on that talk page can be confused then without an invisible note to the National Pokedex page regarding that confusing link then it would cause more problems. P.S. I feel REALLY BAD about that mistake that I am filled with anger and sadness from that unintentional mistake and for getting you involved in it that it I am upset about myself so please, don't make me feel worse. -Tyler53841 01:36, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
In the fandom, NDex means National Dex. That is why the redirect is where it is. If people want to get to the NewDex for whatever reason, they're likely to search for that instead. —darklordtrom 03:00, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
Right didn't know that and thank you. Also during my long walk I took I also realized that deep down we both made mistakes that we have to live with. -Tyler53841 03:40, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Image Issue

Right now on the player characters page there is a problem with the image for the main characters of Gen. V. What I do know is that even though it has the same file name on the Archives, it is not linking with it properly, and there is a chance that the size re-adjustment might be part of the problem, which I just confirmed from recent previewing. If you have the time then can you look into it? -Tyler53841 05:16, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

Eh... it's going to be more work than it's worth, says the rest of the Board. We can always add new parameters if we need them, but this isn't an essential changeover. —darklordtrom 23:03, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Physiology for the starters

Pokabu: "Pokabu is a pig-like Pokémon, primarily orange in coloration with the additional colors of black, pink, and yellow on various portions of its body. It has large, ovular eyes, an archetypically piglike ruddy-pink nose, and a thick stripe of yellow over its snout. Much of its face has black coloration, and its ears, long and oblong, are positioned closely together on the top of its head. Pokabu has short legs, with the extremities of its forefeet being black in coloration. There is a band of black on its lower back and rear, from which extends its coiled tail, topped with a ruddy-red bauble-like adornment." Hopefully this helps. Also, I was not sure if its extremities---farthermost portions of its limbs--- should be called hooves or paws, so I left it at "extremities". (I was not sure if you noticed that I put this on its page previously...) Steph 14:32, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

I preferred the old name. But hey, I'm a creature of nostalgia. Reunify your global account, and log in on Archives and News. Apologies about the Pullman references; it was either that or Doctor Who, and I wasn't in a mood for quoting Christopher Eccleston. —darklordtrom 11:57, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Project Ranger

Welcome. I am Donnaclus, and I noticed that Bulbapedia has far too many stubs regarding the Pokémon Ranger games. I want to create an ongoing project to help fix all destroyed Ranger articles. I will need your approval, though. If you'd like to reply using my Usertalk, click right here. Also please feel free to reply here. --Donn.::.(Usertalk) 19:31, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

I'm not Trom BUT... If I'm not mistaken, I think the Pokémon Ranger series falls under Project Games. You could bring it up on their talkpage that all the Ranger articles kind of suck (I'd edit them more myself, I love the Ranger games, but I haven't played them in ages D:) --ZestyCactus 20:23, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
Zesty Cactus is right. All articles relating to the video games share the same category: Project Games. What I suggest you do, in this situation, is work with Umeko, the Project Leader, to establish a Ranger to-do list which users can then work through.
The next time you write on my talk page, please don't resign it three times. The extra, unneeded edits may strain our fragile server. —darklordtrom 20:33, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

MS links

About a month ago I mentioned to TTE that most of the MS links weren't leading to the right place, and he said to fix them. I've done all the mainspace/templatespace ones I can (with a bit of help from a few others), but now the only ones left are protected templates. They need a (Pokémon) inserted in the MS link after the parameter. The templates in question are:

Could you/another admin change these when you get the time please? Werdnae (talk) 07:04, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

Images?

Hi Trom. Who do I go to if I want certain images to be uploaded, and I can't do them myself? Littlmiget123 15:22, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

Me. Upload them to an image sharing site and give me the URLs. If they're above the 2MB limit, though, no one will be able to upload them. Why can't you do it yourself, may I ask? —darklordtrom 05:48, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
Sorry for the late response. I went away for the weeekend. Well, there are alot of images that need to be updated from HG/SS, and I don't know where to get them. For example, Route 32. Littlmiget123 22:14, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
Ah. Well if you don't have the images, and I don't have the images, there's not a lot we can do. We should probably get some sort of "requests for images" page going... I'll think that over. —darklordtrom 22:34, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
Okay, that's awesome, thanks. If I look, maybe I will find them somewhere, but thanks. Littlmiget123 00:30, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Max's Ralts

Did you not see what I had on that talk page? Max's Ralts IS a notable article, under the grounds that it counts as a CotD. The ENTIRE episode was focused on it. There weren't any human CotDs in that episode. I swear, is that rule going to be completely unused?

And Misty's Golduck was deleted before that rule was even thought of. It should be remade as well. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 12:18, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

I saw what you wrote and I know what the rule says. I likened it to Misty's Golduck as that was how the Project Anime leader Kenji-girl described it as, but a better analogy may have been Cassandra's Parasect. My main reasoning is that if the information can fit into a box on a human character's page, it is better off there. Keeping down the smaller articles in favour of fuller articles is the idea behind this policy. Favor to ask

Can you nip on over to List of Pokémon by Isshu Pokédex number and edit it to reflect that we now know Zekrom and Reshiram are at least part-Dragon type? Thanks. Shady got PokémonDollar.png10,000 for winning 14:34, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

They may or may not be Dragon-types

This really pisses me off: People automatically assuming something when we only know something else. We do NOT have any confirmation that they are any type as of yet. Has it been stated by Daisuki Club that they are the "Legendary Dragon Pokemon"?Yes, they said that. I'm not denying it. But that sounds too suspicious if you ask me. Why word it like a Pokedex entry? Perhaps they are like the Komodo Dragon and are only Dragon in name only. We have nothing confirmed (except for maybe Zekrom being Electric but meh) and since this is a wiki based on the facts, as most wikis are, we shouldn't interpret a rumor as fact. Please edit the Zekrom and Reshiram pages so that they are not listed as Dragon-types. --Mackinz of SoulSilver 17:09, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

What in the world brought this on? I mean, I agree with you, but exactly why are you railing on Trom about this when he isn't even online right now? 梅子 18:04, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
Sorry Umeko-san, it's just that I saw him reply on Talk:Zekrom (Pokémon) (Part of being a Pokémon encyclopedia is reporting what we know. We know that they're Dragon-type. We don't know anything else about their types. That's why it says Dragon and nothing else (not even a ???). —darklordtrom 12:49, 30 May 2010 (UTC) ) and, while it was a week back, I still can't believe he admits that he accepts fan-based (while not unfounded) speculation as FACT. That's why I railed on him. I just can't believe people can be so assuming. Could someone please explain to the admins and mods that the typing is not confirmed by anyone, ANYWHERE. --Mackinz of SoulSilver 18:36, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
If we're wrong, we'll change it. It's not a big deal. The typing will probably be revealed tommorow on Pokémon Sunday. CuboneKing 18:42, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
Well, it's actually today that Pokémon Sunday is airing. I'm recording it so I can upload it to my YouTube so people who weren't able to watch it can watch it. The links on my user page and, if the recorder doesn't crap out like last week, they'll be up by 5pm here. --Mackinz of SoulSilver 18:49, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
I'll be sure to check, since your 5 PM is my 5 PM (I checked your page) :P CuboneKing 18:53, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
I have been discussing with the other admins the issue about their types still being uncertain. It's just not really a priority right now, so not much headway has been made. While yes, we do want to be as factual possible, it's not really the end of the world if we accidentally have information that may end up to be untrue on the pedia for a little while due to a misunderstanding.
I have not taken the initiative to change the typings myself, because it would not be prudent of me to do so without getting the others to agree first.
Finally, there's really no need to add "-san" to my name. Just Umeko is fine. 梅子 18:56, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
Thank for discussing it with the other admins, Umeko.
Just so you guys know, I'm not denying the fact that they could be Dragon-types, I'm just denying the fact that it's been confirmed that they are. If I sound angry, which I'm sure I do, rest assured it is only because I am unsure how to tackle a general assumption by many thousands(?) of people and get easily mad when people mix rumors with fact (same with Arceus and the god complex). --Mackinz of SoulSilver 19:03, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, I thought it was confirmed that they were Dragon-type? I don't speak Japanese, so I was only going off what other people had told me. Umeko, did the other staff give any final verdict?darklordtrom 05:22, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

Confirmed something

I confirmed the other day through luck that the highest level in the Voltorb Flip is level 8. Since you posted a note in that page regarding the topic I figured I should let you know. On that talkpage I put down the summary of my experience. Just to note if I hadn't seen it too clearly then I wouldn't consider it confirmed since all the conformations I have done for this site involve careful and clear observation. If you don't want to post that information on the Voltorb Flip page without additional conformation I understand since this is not something easy to confirm. -Tyler53841 04:43, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Err, how exactly is his username unacceptible? I was curious, so I went over the username policy. It's not obscene, it's not impersonating anyone, it's not named after a Bulbapedia admin or function, it's just a slightly long string of the letter Q. Name change?

I apologize for asking this, but if possible, I would like to have a username change. I once asked TTEchidna this some months ago, back when the errors were around so obviously it couldn't be done then, and I would ask him again but I seem to be disabled from adding new talk sections on his talk page. I've been told to ask one of the Main Editors, hence why I came here. If you can't do the change, then that's fine too.

I understand the rules of a username change, that once made I can never ask for another one, which I am perfectly fine with. I'd like to be called Rai Marshall, if possible. Thank you kindly. Mudkipchan 02:26, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Gimme like five hours or something. I gotta prime the servers, run calibration tests, reconfigure the registry panel.... LOL JK I'm going to a film screening now. But I'll do it, sure.
Go edit the mainspace or something while you wait. —darklordtrom 02:32, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Project Idea

I have an idea for a project. It's called Project Control Blaze. It's for censoring things on bulbapedia,so no one getts offended. - unsigned comment from Gamerater888 (talkcontribs)

I'm not Trom, however, I find the general policy on Bulbapedia has been to present all facts, including images, accurately and without censorship. As an encyclopedia, our goal is to be as complete and factual as possible, which is contradictory to censoring images. --ZestyCactus 15:25, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
Are we still going on about Electric Tale? The images on that page are so small that you can't even see anything without having to click onto them, and why would you even click if you've read the section above them? Personally, I despise spoiler warnings in all their forms. If you're on a wiki about any series/franchise, you can expect plot details to crop up on every single page. Project idea denied. —darklordtrom 23:44, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Thank you!

Seriously, thanks for un-breaking my new Pokémon page. I didn't have much information to put into the New Pokémon template and I was really confused when I made the page and got a bunch of gibberish. Thanks Adyniz. When dealing with userspace abusers in future, please use the prescribed template {{userwarning}} with the appropriate warning to make sure the right message is given. In the case of this user, the message you left should have been {{subst:userwarning|2}} and that would have made it clear that he was up to his final warning. BW Template

Hey trom, as we all know that DP series is about to end and we have all the 191 episode articles. Now, it's time for BW articles as the new episodes will be probably available next month. Because we only know a little about the songs and there is a week in the songs to debut. I'm pretty sure that someone will try to create the article but there will be no quality in it. So, I've created the articles in my userspace instead of mainspacing it directly till we get more info. What do you think? ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 11:07, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
Can you please unprotect BW003? The episode is airing right now. Thanks ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 10:01, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi, if you wish could you go into the Pokedex page and send a copy of the Isshu Pokédex picture and put it into the Isshu Pokédex listing? Since I helped decorate with the other pictures to their appropriate page, it would be nice to have the Isshu Dex listing with this kind of decoration as well. -Tyler53841 04:21, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Ugh. They've split them up into separate domains by series. There's no easy way to do it, although I can make a new intersite link or four. It'll still require millions of relinks. I'll forward this to the Echidna chappy I guess. —darklordtrom 07:43, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
Don't mean to bother you again, but has anything new developed about this issue? I personally have no problem changing all the links if necessary. --rockersk08 17:05, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
Technically it can be easily done due to the colorscheme of the templates being based on their series. Just tell me what the heck I've gotta do. TTEchidna 08:21, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

Disambiguation Pages

This might be a rather stupid and noobish question of me, but it's obvious that there are quite a few Pokemon with main articles which lack disambiguation pages, and it's almost clear to me that it isn't in my power to make new ones. So, if it is possible, could you inform me of a way, or create some that I can list off the top of my head if it's for administrators only? Thanks in advance.

Non-stop Hatred of Kabam- Kaboomustdie! 05:52, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Which ones are you thinking of? Are you sure they need to be disambiguated? —darklordtrom 05:58, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Mostly starters that, due to their meager presence in the show, haven't had disambiguation pages even if they appear as a mainstay in various manga series. Like, say, Swampert, for example (both its pre-evolutions have disambiguation pages to them). That and Ponyta, the evolution of which has a disambiguation, as well as the other articles Ataro and I created a while ago, like Scizor, Machoke/Machamp, Golduck, and Porygon/Porygon2, off the top of my head. Oh, and the Aron line, too, but I might have forgotten a few that have main articles and lack these pages. Thanks in advance.

Kaboomustdie 02:17, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Edit: Or for a more straightforward list (I assume that's the reason why you haven't responded in a while):

Swampert (Ruby's Zuzu)

Ponyta (Platinum's)

Scizor (Blue's)

Machoke and Machamp (again, Blue's)

Golduck (Blue's)

Porygon and Porygon2 (Blue's)

Aron, Lairon, and Aggron (Sapphire's "Rono")

Yeah, that's about it. Obviously, those with no nicknames were just given their trainer's names.

I need help

Sorry about my article I'm just flustered because I don't know what to do. And that's not a problem. My problem is, I want my bulbapedia and bulbanews accounts to link. I know your not suppose to have multiple accounts, but when I tried to start it with the same name, it wouldn't work. is there a way to link my accounts to both have the name Shaymin Master426?

--Shaymin Master426 01:50, 4 October 2010 (UTC)User:Shaymin Master426

Odd. You've tried logging in with the same name and password here (Bulbapedia) as you have on Bulbanews? What is the error message that pops up? —darklordtrom 01:59, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
O.e I solved the problem but i feel dumb. I never knew that there was a bulbawikiunified account already. I made a poll on the fourms and everything. But you dont understand, i have made a bulbanews article called "What we need" and "Nintendo moves to the next dimension." on another account. i understand that I can use my bulbapedia account for bulbanews and archives. Thank You!

Oh and one more thing, can you change my name to HailZekrom ? I feel bad for shaymin; he was myfavorite. but zekrom kikied him out. LOL

oh no. forgot sig. --Shaymin Master426 06:20, 4 October 2010 (UTC

Account blocked

If it's all the same, Id rather you blocked this one and send me a new password for Weedefinition. You see I use that username in both wikia and wikimedia edits and I've kinda grown attached to it :) WellyDawn 23:26, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Understandable. I'm not entirely sure if I'm able to sent you a new password though. Have you checked your junk folder, etc., and has it gone to the right email address? I am able to check email addresses and see that the two accounts have different emails attached to them. —darklordtrom 23:30, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
Well the system threw me out when I tried using the same Email for both accounts, so I used my backup Email, [email protected]. My primary Email is [email protected], that's the one I used for the Weedefinition account. WellyDawn 23:40, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
How clever of it. Are you sure that it hasn't gone into a junk folder or anything? It might be possible for me to rename the old account to a generic name and then rename the new account WellyDawn as Weedefinition... but I wouldn't be able to do that until later in the day when traffic is lower. —darklordtrom 23:42, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
I'm absolutely sure it hasn't gone to any such place. I've double (and now triple) checked. I could try and have a new PW sent again. I'll try it and see what happens. WellyDawn 23:51, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
Update: The system says the new PW should arrive within 24 hrs, which is something I must have missed. Anyway, thanks for all your help! I wish the admins in my wiki were this nice :) WellyDawn 00:00, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

Mew the Pokémon

Could I create an article about my website, Mew the Pokémon? I don't know if it will be on google but I have submited the URL of my website to google. So could I create the page? - unsigned comment from Cool469 (talkcontribs)

I believe there is some policy somewhere that you shouldn't create articles about your own website. Even if it's not, it is still a good rule of thumb. Someone else (non-encouraged) should create the article. Once it's made, you would probably be the best person to clean it up. --SnorlaxMonster 09:53, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
Hi Cool649. As I mentioned on your talk page, only the major fansites have articles on Bulbapedia, as they are involved with a significant part of fandom history. In addition, SnorlaxMonster is correct: you should not create an article about your own website, as it may lead to bias. —darklordtrom 23:54, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

Oh. Ok. Cool469 06:18, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

It was used in the Official HeartGold/SoulSilver guide published by Prima. I haven't seen it used anywhere else, but we ought to have a page on it, and the page needs a name. And I haven't seen it referred to by any other name. --AndyPKMN 01:29, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

Uploading Generation V Sprites

I am trying to upload missing sprites for Generation V Pokémon, but can't seem to get it working. The Archives server and Bulbapedia servers are seperate, so there are synching issues from time to time. Just wait a while or purge the page. It should appear eventually, so you don't need to worry. Jellotalk 21:21, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

Talk Page

Hi,

Thank you for pointing me to the rules regarding acceptable use of talk pages. If I may quote them:

"Talk pages should never be blanked, nor have any comments removed (this includes the welcome), by the user whose page it is, nor by anyone else, unless all that is on the page is off topic spam (consult an administrator first), or a personal attack against the user."

There was no mention of a six-month cutoff in the rules with regard to non-replies. Just because a user made a comment in the talk page two years ago does not preclude me from doing the same now - as it would be on any other Wiki. Note that I was making an independent observation, as evidence by my not using a colon.

Thank you,

--Haveanicedays 21:28, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

Read the page again. Carefully. The whole thing this time.
If you still can't find it, Ctrl+F this: "While old comments are archived, replies for comments over 6 months old will be removed". It's the last sentence before the first section.--Cold (talk) 21:49, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
(edit conflict) It was totally a reply, as evidenced by a) your first comment having colons and being otherwise indistinguishable; and b) your comment being directed towards the above conversation. If it wasn't a reply, then I reserve any right to remove it regardless, as it comes under the heading off-topic spam and is counterproductive for improving the Scientist article. And finally, from our policy, replies for comments over 6 months old will be removed. It's been part of the policy for a year and a half, for the purposes of reducing spam (as I elaborated on your page). —darklordtrom 21:51, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

Oops

Sorry, man, I was just looking for quick help, and it seems putting stuff on several peoples talk pages is often the fastest way to get noticed. I didnt realize I would be noticed like THAT. And I usually never join forums for the simple reason that whenever any discussion mentions my personal life, it immediately turns into a contest to see who can insult me the worst. So... yeah, that, and my parents limit my time using the computer, so I can never seem to keep up with anything. *Sigh* so... Who here is the master of Action Replay? It might help to know that. And does this place have a 'New Message on your talk page' alert? cause i didnt get one. Yeah, that was kind of long, so... respond when u get the chance. This is Your (hopefully) Buddy Bill, message sent.

AFAIK we don't have a master of Action Replay on this offshoot of Bulbagarden, which is why I directed you to the forums. If you have limited time and forget to check things, it is possible to subscribe to a thread and have email notifications when it is updated. You might want to look into that.
If you went straight to your talk page after I left the message, you wouldn't have been given a new message prompt. Don't forget to sign properly. —darklordtrom 23:07, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

Right. Thanks, man. YourBuddyBill 13:44, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

help me

I recently edited some pages. Itend to edit pages that need more detail, like the unreleased pokémon page, but after I edited the silver(rival) page someone erased it. Someone also eraced edits to the Harley and ash pages. What do I do? -Auragirl 22:41, 10 November 2010 (UTC)auragirl

New comments to the bottom next time.
Your edit about Silver's anime starter was reverted because it's all speculation, no fact. This is likely why your edit to Harley's page was removed as well - Bulbapedia is a factual encyclopedia, and generally does not include things that are only guessed upon.
You also need to start spelling Pokémon and proper nouns such as Chikorita with capital letters. —darklordtrom 01:24, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Categorizing of Pokémon Body Sizes

After you changed the Sidegame Template, is it automatic now? Or do I still have to do something about it? (How to tell what's not using the fixed version?) --Turtwig Lover 11:56, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

Everything is used the "fixed" version. It will just take a while for the server to put everything into the categories. However, as long as the Pokémon have their body type displayed correctly in the template, they will appear in the right categories. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. —darklordtrom 11:58, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. It was strange when all the category pages for body sizes were empty. I also was worried when you changed the template but nothing happened for a while and slowly the entries are entering the correct categories. I feel much better now knowing that it isn't instantenous. --Turtwig Lover 12:01, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

?

I know I can't make my own website. But if I created my wiki I made would that count? Cool469 05:16, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Creating a page on a website that you personally are afflilated with (in this case, you are affiliated with it by that fact that your website hosts it.) is considered the same as creating an article on your own website. In other words, you cannot create an article on anything that you refer to (or consider as) "my". Doing so is considered advertising, and is not allowed. Secondly, unless you are referring to The Pokémon Wiki, it isn't notable enough for an article anyway. Werdnae (talk) 05:28, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, dude. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia which means we don't publish battle strategies as they are opinionated. We publish the moves' effects and everything, but it's up to our readers to figure out what to do with all of that.

Wikia's still stealin.--immewnitythemew 22:08, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

Not so much Wikia as a whole, but a contributor thereof. I will deal. —darklordtrom 03:40, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Can I have this?

Since I have to ask an administrator, can I have this? Pikiwyn talk 10:36, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Yes. Five shy of having them all in the mainspace, but your non-main contribs are in good order. The template doesn't seem to specify anything, anyways. Thanks for your help. —darklordtrom 10:46, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! Pikiwyn talk 10:53, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
For the Christmas Improvement Drive, can it be any recent edit or does it have be since the 5th December? Pikiwyn talk 12:29, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
And also there's something wrong with the template when I used it. Pikiwyn talk 14:19, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Hey, could you help me out?

I was wondering how you add a "diff" to the pages I edit, like you did on the Ash's Torkoal page? Thanks. Absol21990 18:39, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Go to the history of the page, choose your revision and the previous revision and click compare revisions. Once you have done that, copy the URL of the page to get the "diff" Jellotalk 18:41, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks.Absol21990 18:43, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Can I enter then?

I have a question to ask about it, does users who participated in the Christmas Improvement Drive have to be people living in the US or UK, or is it allowed for worldwide? -- Ruixiang95 06:35, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Anywhere in the world. —darklordtrom 06:45, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Christmas Improvement Drive

Is it allowed to even further update/improve a page that has already been submitted by another member for the xmas improvement drive? I had already had an idea on how to improve a particular page, and another member had used it as their submission, but I feel it can be made even better. To be fair, I decided to ask first before trumping this page. If you need more detail please feel free to email me. Thanks. --Absol21990 22:48, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

I don't see why not :D —darklordtrom 07:33, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

Thank You

Thank you for the warning, Trom. I think I might have made the same mistake on a few other articles. I'll go and check. Mikel123 18:29, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

Category:Berry minigames

Is it really necessary? I would think that the two minigames in there could go straight into minigames rather than creating a whole new category for two articles. There should be a bunch of other minigames floating around the wiki to be categorized. --SnorlaxMonster 00:29, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

The person that made that category was an idiot. I'm guessing he did it to keep them separate from the rest of the minigames. Deleting the category would depend on how many minigames there are. —darklordtrom 07:33, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

Right. Sorry.

Wasn't paying attention. --PLA 10:01, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
