Welcome

Bulbapedia logo.png
Welcome to Bulbapedia, TheLastCharmander!

Here are a few links to help you get started:

The Manual of Style, or MoS, outlines the format of all pages on Bulbapedia.

All of our administrators are here to help! Talk to them if you have any questions or problems with Bulbapedia.

On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~), or by using the "Your signature with a timestamp" (button_sig.png) button at the top of the edit window.

The Userspace Policy says that you should keep userspace edits (edits to User:TheLastCharmander) to a minimum, and outlines a few other guidelines for your userspace.

For a complete list of policies and editing advice, please see the Welcome Portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Preview!

Remember you can preview you edits before saving. This prevents edits from spamming the recent changes page. Please preview your edits before saving! And try to edit the mainspace more to balance out userpage edits. Thanks. [[Derian]] 17:50, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

Stop.

Do not edit the User: namespace any more. In the past, we were not allowed to edit our pages at all because of users over-editing their pages. If you edit your page any more without making some edits to the mainspace, then the privilege for you to edit the userspace will be removed. ---- MAGNEDETH 18:06, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

Nice userpage

Give it a rest now though, ok? Bulbapedia has a userspace policy that says that we shouldn't edit our personal pages too much. Otherwise, the server can have problems. Please try and edit the mainspace (or articles) instead. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, after all. Thank you. —darklordtrom 20:24, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

Hey

Although you've edited the mainspace better than you have been, you still have to follow the userspace rules. I see that above, you have a couple warnings. Getting too many usually comes with a userspace ban. None of us want that, so don't edit the your userpage anymore today. Stick to the mainspace for a while, because you've been editing your page a bit much. Try not to edit it for a couple days, and do the main pages, which is the reason Bulbapedia exists. Hi!

It's really great that you're trying to help out the encyclopedia by adding information! What you added with your last three edits, however, were already mentioned in the pages' trivia sections. In the future, make sure beforehand that what you want to say hasn't already been said! :) 梅子 04:25, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

I don't have the authority to decide something like that; I'm just a regular user trying to give some advice. If you really want to try to get that kind of trivia moved into "special abilities," I'd suggest bringing it up on the Project Pokedex talk page. Probably wouldn't want to hold your breath, but it's worth a try. XD 梅子 18:57, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

Link Templates

Please use link templates when linking to stuff such as Pokémon names, attacks, and the like. For example, {{p|Umbreon}} instead of just [[Umbreon]]. This is so you don't unintentionally link to a disambiguation page.

For a full crash course on link templates, look at the list of link templates. ht14 22:17, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Please listen. You failed to do so when linking Silcoon, Cascoon, and etc. ht14 02:46, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

Stat averages

the Statistical averages are are a section solely devoted to averages based on all of the Pokemon of that type. similarities in their types are already noted in their respective Characteristic sections and have no need to be mentioned elsewhere. furthermore, a majority of your summaries contained opinions and as a wiki, we are facts only. -- MAGNEDETH 23:47, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

I didn't list any opinions in those. Just facts. I thought I should spruce up the unsatisfactory type articles so I added summaries of the stat averages over the tables - unsigned comment from TheLastCharmander (talkcontribs)
those articles arent amazing, but they arent unsatisfactory. also saying Dragon-type is "considered the most powerful type" is an opinion. and as i said, all the info you stated can be found in the characteristics section, and therefor doesnt need to be stated in the stat averages section.
also, i commented here. dont go to my page to respond. and please sign your comments with 4 tildes (~) -- MAGNEDETH 00:09, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

Speculation

All of that was unnecessary to be quite honest. Anyone could figure that out... In addition, you added speculation. ht14 02:47, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, but honestly that's the only thing to put about Bug Maniacs that isn't there already from what I can see. I'm just trying to expand the article.- unsigned comment from TheLastCharmander (talkcontribs)
You can expand it by adding Trainer info. See Bug Catcher for details. ht14 02:54, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

Interview with Scott of SE

questions, who what where when why how and since when were you a staff member of the site? -- MAGNEDETH 20:47, 8 November 2009

Haha. Calm down buddy I realized my mistake as soon as I put it there and it's gone now okay? I thought a staff editor was any person who's on the site and editing, but I changed it and it just says EDITOR now. Take a chill pill bro (:--TheLastCharmander 20:52, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
dont worry, im calm. but i cant let an unverified and poorly written paragraph sit on a page in the mainspace, let alone an FAC. -- MAGNEDETH 20:54, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Well I want to find a way for me to get that information on the article! Tell me how to verify my interview and how to make the paragraph nicer. That information should be there!--TheLastCharmander 20:56, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
hmmmm, well, Trom has been the one mainly in contact with Scott, so ill ask him his opinion and get back to you. -- MAGNEDETH 21:22, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
alright thanks. tell me what's up when he gets at you - unsigned comment from TheLastCharmander (talkcontribs)

Hey, Jack. While I appreciate your effort, any "interview" "on behalf" of Bulbapedia will have to be cleared with a staff member before it goes ahead. It is important, when representing the site in the wider community, that our site is presented accurately. I'm sure you can see where I'm coming from: if you accidentally misspoke, or did something else a bit out of line, then it would be Bulbapedia in trouble. Our reputation as the best Pokémon site could go down the drain. While I appreciate your efforts, leave liaisons to the staff. Also, I will need to see a copy of your conversation with Scott. Thanks. —darklordtrom 09:32, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Thanks Trom,

I contacted you about the interview before I posted it in the article, but you didn't reply for a while so I decided to post it and see if anything was up. I guess there's a large time difference where we live or something. But anyway, I think the interview was a success (I didn't even expect Ramsoomair to contact me back). Should I forward it to your e-mail or copy and paste it to your talk page?--TheLastCharmander 20:25, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Sorry to jump in, but you'll see from Trom's page that he lives in New Zealand. So yes, that's quite a large time difference from Florida. :) 梅子 20:42, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
Oh it's fine haha. I'm just anxious to get this interview I had with Scott onto the mainspace (not to mention an FAC) so I'm hoping for him to contact me as soon as possible. Any ideas of what time it is in New Zealand if it's around 3:45 PM here?--TheLastCharmander 20:46, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
Try this. I don't know where in New Zealand he is so that might not be totally accurate, but it should give you a general idea. 梅子 20:58, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
Thank you (: I suppose he's just waking up now. So unless logging on here is a crucial part of his morning routine, I might not here from him for at least a few hours >.<--TheLastCharmander 21:00, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
It doesn't matter where in New Zealand I am. We're a sensible country with only one timezone. I gave you my email, so please send it there. —darklordtrom 21:13, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
Alright I'll send it. And haha, New Zealand sounds like a nice place. Do you guys really have a rivalry with Australia? I heard that somewhere.--TheLastCharmander 21:16, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
You know, that's what I thought (that there was only one time zone for NZ), but the timeanddate site came up with two times for New Zealand (there was another one for Chatham Islands, but granted, I'm not exactly an expert in the geography of the Oceania region, so I had no idea how relevant that one was :P). Anyway. I'll just pop out now and leave you two to smooth out this issue. XD 梅子 21:24, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
Could you forward the whole email to the address I specified to you, thank you. —darklordtrom 21:33, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
Umm I don't think you specified any particular address. I just sent it to the one on your page. Is that the right one? If it's not then what is? Ack! Sorry mate I'm having a slow day x]--TheLastCharmander 20:36, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
I emailed it to you using 'email this user' to protect my own privacy. You may need to check your Junk email box. Then forward the whole email to that address so I can read it in its entirety. —darklordtrom 20:47, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
I e-mailed it to you from my more professional alternate address. Tell me when you read it.--TheLastCharmander 19:21, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
Thank you very much. —darklordtrom 19:54, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
