As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

• For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.

• The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The é can be accessed by holding Alt and typing either 130 or 0233 on a Windows computer, and by using Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can easily click it in the character palette below the editbox.
• The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a capital B. The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
• The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon or other media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
• On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
• The use of link templates is official policy.
• If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
• A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
• For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
• Image uploading is done on Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki accessible through the toolbox in the sidebar. This is done so that both Bulbapedia and Bulbanews have access to the images uploaded. To activate your account at the Archives and Bulbanews, please login there using the same username and password you use here on Bulbapedia.
• If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Superbreeder/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
• Having said this, please make sure that you do contribute adequately to the main namespace. Bulbapedia is not MySpace or Facebook.
• All users are allowed to edit the userspace 3 times a day. If you edit more than 3 times, you may be subjected to a warning. If you ignore the warning, you will be given three chances to comply. If you do not comply, your ability to modify the userspace will be revoked for a period of time.
• Unless prior permission is given, no user is permitted to edit another user's page. Furthermore, edits to other users' pages are permitted only if there are problems that spread to other parts of Bulbapedia, such as broken links that appear on the wanted pages, switching out duplicate images that appear on the Archives, etc.
• Fan fictions, missions, riddles, games, and anything else deemed not suitable for the wiki will not be allowed. If you would like to add something, but do not know if it is acceptable, ask an administrator.

Getting the Picture

I'd love to know how to get images onto other pages, particularly my userpage. If at all possible, a little help with getting tables on there, as well. I know about Slaking's high attack, so I'm going for a Nature that boosts Attack, even though you didn't go into that. Okay, I have the female, and I couldn't have asked for a better Nature! She has a Naughty nature, which is the perfect nature for a Slakoth, raising Attack and lowering Special Defense. I am usually on between 8:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. on weekdays, and anytime after 4:00 p.m. on the weekends in your time zone. As for a Pokémon you can give me, how about either a Piplup♀, a Turtwig♀, or a female of their evolved forms? If you can't do that, I have no problem with that. I have until Platinum comes out in America to get Sinnoh Starters for one of my friends, and I want to breed Egg Moves into them for him, but I don't have females of those two. Thanks anyway. FYI, That Buneary should have a decent Speed IV. Although it's at level 14, it doesn't have any EV's because I put it in the Daycare to breed with (hence the name 10). Do you Breed With IV's?

Good question. Usually I breed for IVs if Moves aren't an option, but it's very rare that I get the oportunity to do them together. I breed for moves, then choose the one that best emphasizes the stat I want, for example, I will choose a Shuckle if it has a Nature that does not raise attack or lower defense AND has something like "Sturdy body," or "Somewhat vain," as its character trait. Not really. IVs are how I decide which Pokémon from the batch I want to keep, and which ones are going to the Ranch or onto GTS. Superbreeder 01:56, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

I am involved in many trading sites and trust me, IVS are wanted the most.A straight 31 pokemon is better than a pokemon with A Correct Nature and an Egg Move--DCM_{((Nag at Me!Edits))}

Is there any way that you know of to make IVs not depend on the father? I think you may be suggesting I breed for IVs when fulfilling breeding requests like Tesh's. I'll have to work on that. It might take a few weeks, I really don't know. That is a true project. I'm bored to tears right now, with nobody giving me a request. If I really can't get both stats with max IVs, can Nature be a substitute? The website pokemon.marriland.com/diamond_pearl is a reliable source for this kind of information, and the tables on that website show that Natures hane a greater impact on stats than IVs, which was why I wasn't too woried about them in the first place. Question Two: If maximum and minimum IVs for Speed and Special Attack for a Level One Electrike are the same, how can you tell if it has a 31 or a 0? Go into the Ultimate Stat Calculator on the page I mentioned earlier, and you'll see what I mean when you crunch the numbers (don't forget to tell it to show all Natures). Egg Moves don't matter, just suprise me if you want, but the Piplup's Nature should raise Special Attack and lower either Defense or Speed, and the Turtwig's should raise Attack and lower either Sp. Defense or Speed. I would like you to give the Pokémon you're giving me a Heart Scale, since I had to use one to get the father to learn Ice Fang. I have 3 Electrike♂ for you to choose from based on Nature, Characteristic, and Ability, and all of them know Ice Fang and Tackle: The first one has a Rash Nature, has good perseverance, and has the Static Ability. The second one is just like the first but is alert to sounds and has Lightningrod. The third and final Electrike is Hasty, mischevious, and has Static. Images and Tables

To link images you just put it like Image:xxx.png, for the Pokémon. Like if you wanted Roserade for example, you would put [[Image:407.png]] and it would come out like this:. Now as to tables, for the simplest table, you start out with this: {|border="1" style="border: 1px solid #000; border-collapse: collapse;" width=550px cellspacing="0" |- | align=center | [[Image:XXX.png]] | align=center | [[Image:XXX.png]] |} And to make a new line, put this: |-. It will look like this:

Wanted Pages & Broken links

I noticed you recently went and removed some links to pages that should exist, but don't yet. This, unfortunately, takes them off the wanted pages, which in turn, makes it so that people aren't aware that they should exist. When removing redlinks, you should think to yourself first if they are the sort of subject that deserves their own page before taking them out completely. Things like spelling mistakes are what should be removed, not links that could have potential. ^Maverick_Nate 17:02, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

My mistake. I believed those to be cases where an editor made a contribution to the article and forgot to preview to ensure that his or her links were functional before he or she saved the new edit. I'll be more careful about that from here on out. Superbreeder 17:33, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

I can't edit the Mainspace

For some reason, I have been unable to edit the mainspace (but I made a userspace edit with no problems). When I try to save an edit in the mainspace, my browser spends ten to fifteen seconds saying it's "connecting," after which it goes to a blank page (with a URL that would have meant my edit was saved). However, when I go back to the page I edited, my changes are not saved. I have tried this on multiple browsers and multiple Internet networks that have worked before, but I still can't edit. Can anyone clear up what is going on? Did I get blocked for some reason? Superbreeder 15:33, 19 September 2014 (UTC)
