Memory Girl

I saw your comment about a separate page for the Memory Girl. I've actually been doing some research on memories over the past few days since there's so little information about them out there (even Serebii doesn't have a page on them - HA!) Obviously as a new user I can't create the page myself, but if you could do it I'd be more than happy to contribute my findings. One thing though - should we have separate pages for the Memory Girl and the memory feature itself, or should everything be kept on one page? The memory page would have a list of all possible memories and feelings as well as what triggers each memory; I'm not sure if that would be too much to include on the character page or not.--♪ Rebel Rebel, how could they know? Hot tramp, I love you so! ♪ 17:30, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

Does the "memory" concept serve any role aside from the Memory Girl? If not, I don't see why we would want a separate memories page. --SnorlaxMonster 17:33, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
I hadn't considered that, good point. Having everything on one page seems like the best way to go. Although I wonder if maybe the page should be called Memories instead of Memory Girl, since the bulk of the information will be on the memories themselves rather than the character. On the other hand the memories are essentially character quotes, so I don't know. Whatever you decide is best.--♪ Rebel Rebel, how could they know? Mossdeep City backdoor house

Is there perhaps a reason the QR Codes for the backdoor house are not on the wiki somewhere (like perhaps List of other event distributions in Generation VI; or on Mossdeep City itself, maybe in a gallery). You linked them in your edit summaries. Tiddlywinks (talk) 02:54, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

I think they should be on the wiki somewhere, I just didn't know where to put them. If you have a good place, by all means add them. I don't think they should be mixed in with other event distributions though. --SnorlaxMonster 04:37, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

PMD move mechanics.

So I was planning on researching PMD move workings in near future (so far, I've noticed that for some reason, there seems to be two counters for drops and I have no idea how the other works, but seems to be cap at 4 uses). I've also noticed that German wiki has that nifty images to mark PMD targeting. The only place we have PMD info like that are the PMD-exclusive moves. Eridanus (talk) 12:38, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

Dream World Artwork

The Roseli Berry, Kee Berry and Maranga Berry articles each list their PGL artwork as Dream World Artwork despite these berries being introduced in Gen VI, and the fact that Gen VI does not have a Dream World. Shouldn't we change it from Dream World to PGL? Yamitora1 (talk) 01:39, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

Yeah all the Dream World artwork should probably be referred to as PGL artwork. --SnorlaxMonster 01:51, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

Heads-up on Soaring in the sky

Greetings. I hope it's okay if I'll leave my question here? I feel like situation with duscussion of renaming Soaring in the sky went a bit too far with everything, not to telling about that aside of just decision to move it somethere, there's now also template asking about splitting it apart... and everyone in tell is now just talking about what suits them best in matters of article name, even though there's already redirects from alternative article name pages. Maybe as member of Bulbapedia Staff, you can simply put an end to that discussion? i don't know... have a private discussion with other staff members on that topic for a bit, while talking on more important matters... as talk-page in Soaring in the sky now looks ridiculously long, as I see it. Thanks for your attention. TLN (talk) 06:16, 9 February 2015 (UTC)

NSW 2000 Crystal info

I'm not sure of the best place to put this on the wiki. One of the screenshots is an early version of the PokéCom Club trade room (go here for a better copy), while the other is the nurse asking which room the player wants to use for trading: Cable Club room or the PokéCom Club/mobile room (pic: モバイルと ケーブル どちらを つかって こうかん しますか?; unused English text: Would you like to trade over a GAME LINK cable or by mobile phone?)

The name "PokéCom Club" comes from unused English text, by the way (proof). The Japanese version doesn't call it something different. つうしんクラブ is CABLE CLUB in the English versions and the green NPC in Cherrygrove's Pokémon Center also calls it COMMUNICATION CENTER.

There's a POKéCOM CLUB upstairs in any POKéMON CENTER. There, you can battle or trade with a friend far away by using a MOBILE ADAPTER.
To link up, your friend must have the same kind of MOBILE ADAPTER as you.

vs.

ポケモンセンター 2かいの ポケモン つうしん クラブ で モバイルアダプタをつかって とおくにいる おともだちと たいせんや こうかんが できます
つうしんは おなじ しゅるいの モバイルアダプタを つかっている おともだちと してください

Then again, the unused English text also calls it MOBILE ROOM, which I suppose is モバイルルーム in the Japanese version. — SatoMew 18:12, 9 February 2015 (UTC)

Template:Helditems

Could you please update Template:HeldItems so that it is compatable with OR and AS? I am asking you because you are familiar with how the template works and have done so for previous games. PartHunter (talk) 07:45, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

Done. I really think that template needs to be overhauled so it is easier to maintain. --SnorlaxMonster 13:26, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

Memory indices

Why do you think the memory indices are relevant? Is it just something like, for anyone who might want (and be able) to hack their Pokemon's memories? Personally, I don't see much use to be gotten out of adding the indices or a great benefit for most users.

FWIW, going by a post on the Project Pokemon forums by Kaphotics, it seems pretty clear that the game just uses a 0-based index into the list of memories or locations or feelings. And our lists are the same as the ORAS text dump, excepting the absence of a few memory indices in the text dump that apparently have no data (06, 09, 0C, 10, 15, 19, 1F, 2A, 2C, and 3C). Tiddlywinks (talk) 13:19, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

Personally, I like info to be as detailed as possible. It feels like it's similar to List of locations by index number (Generation VI). Occasionally, these kind of things have relevance. However, it's incredibly minor and might not be worth the effort to collect them. --SnorlaxMonster 13:23, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

Wobbu-Palooza! characters

Are you fluent with Japanese and have access to the Japanese version of Wobbu-Palooza!? There are two characters named Shinji and Yahichi who are created on my userspace. I can't tell who they are as their names were only listed in Pokeani and in a Japanese-related matter. Pokeani also lists Tatsuro who is on the same page as Shinji and Yahichi. PattyMan 02:25, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Help Requested!

Please verify that my sdex template is set up correctly, then move it to that location (I thought of creating it there but held off) and assist in setting up the first reference at User:CycloneGU/List of Pokémon by Pokémon Shuffle Browser number‎; I'll be able to do the rest from there. =) One thing that will be needed is the correct Pokémon images instead of the ones from other games, but that won't break the table if missing. CycloneGU (talk) 17:37, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

I'm going to need to look over it more carefully later, but the imediate issue I notice is that you're using "SDex", which refers to the Sinnoh Pokédex. Perhaps ShDex? --SnorlaxMonster 12:57, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

Zorua/Zoroark event-exclusives

Awhile ago, Solar Dragon and I had a disagreement over Deoxys being the first event-exclusive to no longer be as such. I asked Arc about it, but she was undecided. You've since altered Deoxys' trivia so that it's not an issue, but it still is for Zorua and Zoroark. Your thoughts? glikglak 21:44, 1 March 2015 (UTC)

I'm going to say just call it non-notable trivia and forget about it. It's a "first" rather than an "only"; IMO, we should only really worry about "only", not "first". You also have to exclude transfers from spin-off games (e.g. Ranch Mew). --SnorlaxMonster 13:08, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
The current trivia for them isn't saying first to switch, but rather only non-Legendary to have ever been. Which, if considered true, I'd say is still notable. glikglak 15:12, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
In that case, you're also ignoring Spiky-eared Pichu and the Rotom forms, although I guess you can since they are forms and not species. It's also ignoring Phione. I still think it's better to just leave it out. (If the trivia does stay though, it should be "non-Mythical and non-Legendary Pokémon".) --SnorlaxMonster 05:56, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

List of Pokémon by Pokémon Shuffle list number

I believe this page is ready to move to the mainspace as it is. However, the associated template, Sdex (could be renamed to "ShDex" since Sdex is reserved for Sinnoh), might still use an improvement I want to ask about. Are we working to get the Pokémon Shuffle images on the Wiki for use instead of the other images in there? I know some fan sites already have all of them, but assume we are adding our own copies.

Other than the images question, I believe the pages are ready to be moved and would like your input. CycloneGU (talk) 04:29, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

I am still looking for input on whether these can be moved. CycloneGU (talk) 23:28, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
We don't currently have plans to upload images from Shuffle. However, it would appear that Phiraptor28 has uploaded a bunch of Battle Trozei images, which look to be the same. It would be worthwhile asking him/her about his/her source, to see if we could get more. I think Shuffle images would be useful. --SnorlaxMonster 14:59, 28 March 2015 (UTC)
I think it would make sense to get the images people would expect to see in the game. Other sites have already done so, so while we can't just use those images from that site, we look bad by not having them ourselves. They can then be linked to Pokémon pages in the SideGames template as well as on the list page.
I've also changed the title of the section, which was outdated. CycloneGU (talk) 16:08, 28 March 2015 (UTC)

Soccer/Football

I won't go on about this, but "football" would only(!) be ambigous in the USA. *le sigh* - unsigned comment from MasterZeroFlash (talkcontribs)

Well, Bulbapedia uses American English (matching virtually all official material), so that's the most important place that it's not ambiguous. However, it's also ambiguous in other countries that refer to a different sport as "football", such as Australia (where I live) and New Zealand. --SnorlaxMonster 17:21, 14 March 2015 (UTC)

Style/anime appearances

Hey there, SM!

I wanted to ask:

1. Do photos of Pokémon count as appearances? Such as on Sandile's page.

2. And regarding style, shouldn't the subsection Other on a Pokémon's page under the section Anime appearances be a subsection of Major appearances? For example Mantine's page hasn't Other as a subsection. But the real questions is: is it really necessary for that section to exist, if under the Major appearances section does not appear a link to a Pokémon which has its own page such as Pikachu or Dewgong? Because Other refers to other Pokémon than the one which has its own page, right?

Thanks! --DJWolfy 12:29, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

I'm not really sure about the standard for formatting anime sections on Pokémon pages; I'd suggest asking Kenji-girl. However, I'll do my best to answer your questions.
 1. I think I've asked Kenji-girl about this before, and she said photos count as minor appearances. I forget how we handle statues though.
 2. IIRC, Bulbapedia staff had decided against the "Other" section before (as seen on Mantine's page), preferring the appearance be classified as either major or minor. --SnorlaxMonster 12:37, 22 March 2015 (UTC)
But Kenji said on her page that she is quite busy and may take some time to answer...
So, should the Other section on Mantine's page and on other's Pokémon with the same issue be removed? --DJWolfy 13:26, 22 March 2015 (UTC)
I guess you can remove the "Other" section. --SnorlaxMonster 03:58, 25 March 2015 (UTC)

Another question regarding style. When a sentence ends with the name of an episode which contains exclamation or question mark or any other graphic signs, do we add a period after it or no? Example here.--DJWolfy 12:56, 25 March 2015 (UTC)

Here's one I can answer with certainty. If it's an episode title such that the exclamation or question mark is in italics, our convention is to include a period after it. It doesn't apply for stuff that's not in italics though, like Pokémon Trozei! --SnorlaxMonster 13:19, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
So, in other words, here (after hello, pummelo!) the style is right while here (after the Flame Pokémon-athon! and hi-ho silver wind!) the style is wrong, right? (Sorry if am repeating myself, I just want to be sure of everything).--DJWolfy 13:24, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Yes. --SnorlaxMonster 14:55, 28 March 2015 (UTC)

Mega Lucario Rankings

I can confirm based on past research that rankings are region-based. Apparently, in Japan, the top 50,000 players got the Lucarionite. That said, it's removed from the game now, so I can't verify the current top five; I just know that I got it on both my systems. CycloneGU (talk) 17:15, 23 March 2015 (UTC)

It is accurate, as I have used it several times and it still won't back up save data because no compatable save data exists. Also, the log-in info saved is saved to the system in general, and is saved by the operating system, not the game (because it is the Nintendo Network ID log-in info). Template:Eggcyc update

I've been figuring out how Eggs hatch across the generations and I've now added that all to Egg cycles. The only thing still out of date is the base Egg cycle list and the template it's built from. Or if you have any questions or concerns about the template, I'm more than happy to hear those, too.

(I haven't tried to replace all of the templates used within Eggcyc with their equivalent code, but perhaps you may wish to do that, since I know it's been done in other cases. And I honestly haven't tested sorting the updated template...but I don't expect it to be a problem either.) Tiddlywinks (talk) 20:32, 3 April 2015 (UTC)

I saw you undid my edit. I know the Nintendo 3DS has a gyro sensor, but I just want to confirm, because References are an important thing. ThePokémonFanSince1995 06:12, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
It's worth asking, do you even have a Gen VI game, and have you tried to evolve Malamar? You don't seem to have said that you personally evolved Malamar without doing anything special, which should be the obvious point of contention. And if you don't have personal experience that something is wrong, rather than making a big assumption and removing it from the page, it's better to post a comment on the talk page explaining your apprehensions instead. Tiddlywinks (talk) 12:04, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
Actually, no. But I can't just believe that you need to evolve a Pokémon using your gyro sensor. It would be confusing to those who are new to Pokémon, except if Nintendo or The Pokémon Company really said it in public (they would have said it in a trivia). But nah. I am now believing in you two. I hope Nintendo won't think this way of evolution in the future, even though it is for promoting the 3DS. Because it will become confusing. Atleast this is an obstacle to completing the Pokédex. ThePokémonFanSince1995 12:15, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
For the record, I saw his undoing of your edit, and he confirmed that its true. He literally did say after all that his Inkay never evolved even past level 30 when he didn't hold his 3DS upside down, and only did so once he hold his 3DS in an inverted position. There isn't really a need for complete references here, especially since Goodra and Sylveon are both examples of Pokémon that have weird evolution requirements as well that have been confirmed via gameplay. EDIT: Also to note that in regards to this evolution requirement, other websites seem to agree here. ScraftyIsTheBest (talk) 13:03, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
Let me chime in that I have attempted to evolve Malamar and did not turn the system upside down in time. It appears you have to have it upside down as the level is gained. If it's upside down at the correct moment, even if turned back around before you see the evolution screen, then it will evolve. Just turning the system upside down right before the expected evolution screen is not enough to evolve it. CycloneGU (talk) 23:52, 7 April 2015 (UTC)

US seasons template

Seeing the previous seasons, I think the XY series seasons should be named The Series: XY and Kalos Quest. The previous seasons also omit the Pokémon in the name and hence these should also do it to maintain consistency. PikaTepig999 06:58, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

Rumble Pages

I had removed the TOC intentionally. Is there a reason why it needs to be there? If anything, we can link the stage names in the intro to the anchors below. CycloneGU (talk) 23:30, 25 April 2015 (UTC)

What reason is there why you think it shouldn't be there? Removing it takes a specific effort. --SnorlaxMonster 15:51, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

I just didn't think it looked right since the stage names are also listed in the intro. Hence why I said I'm all right with linking them from there. Granted, moving the TOC to the right side might still work. CycloneGU (talk) 16:16, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

Why is there a need for a bulleted list in the intro? Could that not be removed and the TOC reinstated? --Abcboy (talk) 16:21, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

It could, but the reason I removed it is because I thought it looked odd to list the stages, then list the Legendaries, then list the stages again. And it's right to list the Legendaries. CycloneGU (talk) 17:46, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

Adding after a test: this might work, but again requires noting the TOC where we want it on the page. It doesn't look right listing it after the Legendaries, as I noted, because I determined noting where they are there (to save people hunting through the tables and for ease of reference) doesn't make sense to come before the list. The default location without the marker is right before the first header, which would not make sense. CycloneGU (talk) 17:52, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

It's not like the pages are large; scrolling isn't going to be a detriment to people, so listing the Legendaries at the top isn't necessary. If someone's looking for Legendaries, they're going to go to the Pokémon's pages, not run through all the locations. glikglak 18:16, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
Except that, right now, they can't do that. There is no addition to the template for Rumble World yet. I do see Rumble Blast has been added to Template:SidegameAvail but the last edit was July 18, 2013‎. There need to be three variables for Rumble World to be able to properly note all Pokémon as there are a few that have three locations, and many with two. Once that is done, then I can take on the task of going through the pages once my list is completed from the game data. CycloneGU (talk) 18:38, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
I'll add to the above comment. I looked up Shellder at randon to see how other games are treated. I saw:
|md=Stormy Sea (1F-8F)<br>Silver Trench (1F-8F)<br>Far-off Sea (1F-8F)<br>Marvelous Sea (B1-B5)<br>Fantasy Strait (B1-B5)
Something like that would work, but with a "rumbleworld" variable. It allows room to list specifics of where in each case. "rumblew" could be mistaken for Wii or Wii U (there is a Wii U entry obviously), same with "rw", but "rworld" might be safe as well if preferred. CycloneGU (talk) 18:56, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

Arceus Types

see this.

I already confirmed the Arceus one myself, as I had Normal on Thursday (April 30), Fighting the next day (yesterday), and Flying today. So, in other words, we could put this to a calendar. We can use that switch in the Bastion of Beginnings table at Legend Terrain.

I can't confirm any of the others, but if you were to play and get Arceus today, see if it's Flying type. My suspicion is that the data is set the same for everybody for these things so everyone has the same experience the same day. I wonder if the Deerling/Sawsbuck types are also affected by this, hence why I only found Winter form; I'll do stage revisits to that locale someday after I finish the Arceus hunt for all 18 (and Mew!). If an 18 element switch is programmed (something like Shaymin's page calculations on showing its Sky Forme; Genesect also uses a switch, as does Castform), and I can get that remainder bit figured out, I can experiment in my sandbox and see if I can get a formula working as I'll have everything I need at that point; dividing the date subtraction by 18 and pulling that remainder is what will determine the type that shows in the table next to Arceus on that page load. For instance, May 2 minus April 30 is 2, divide by 18 is 2 remainder (obviously) and thus the player gets a Flying-type (I got that today, and it's May 2 LOL); May 31 minus April 30 is 31, divide by 18 and remainder is 13, thus Psychic-type will appear on May 31; June 23 minus April 30 is 54, divide by 18 is clean with no remainder, so Normal-type will appear on June 23. This would update directly into the table. Obviously I'll copy the table to my sandbox for experiments once I have the remainder information and figure out the formula. What's the order for the types to appear? Identical to the list in-game when you go to filter by type.
The only question from there is if changing the 3DS system date wrecks it or makes Normal Arceus always appear. Genesect and others might also use days calculations; Unown definitely requires experiments once I finish getting all of the Arceus. CycloneGU (talk) 19:01, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

tt

Does tt works also in mobile platforms? I wanna know if it works. Thank you! --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 09:27, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

If I may...
My understanding is that the code generates with the underline like in regular browsers, but there's no mouse to scroll over the text, so the TT tag does not activate. I had this discussion with Tiddlywinks once and he said something about not liking the TT tag because mobile users never see it, so I try to avoid the TT tag as much as possible. Pokémon Origins

You said in the edit history that you disliked the newly-added "Differences from the games" section. I'm not trying to be rude, but may I ask why? Just trying to figure out if it's notable enough or not. Technickal (talk) 23:48, 10 May 2015 (UTC)

Bulbanews

Don't know if you noticed this, but I left a message on your Bulbanews talk page. Can you please try to respond to it? Thanks! → signed comment from PikaTepig999 10:12, 11 May 2015 (UTC)

Whoops

I actually didn't mean that to go back in next to 1.1.12. Thanks for fixing that. CycloneGU (talk) 01:16, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

A suggestion to consoles and handheld consoles

How about if the page will show shortcuts, like List of Pokémon by Pokémon Shuffle list number? It will be like this. (Sorry for my bad English, I don't know how to say it) --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 10:08, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

Shortcuts are used for lists because their titles are constructed and not necessarily obvious or memorable. Console names are just the names of the products, so shortcuts are unnecessary. --SnorlaxMonster 11:09, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

"Eight Hearts"

It was merely an example. If a player has three Hearts when the update is applied, the player will have those three Hearts and five MORE Hearts upon being updated. That was my own example and was NOT false. I now have 6 in the back because I got three more bonus Hearts from Streetpass situations. CycloneGU (talk) 07:00, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

It said "a player can have five free Hearts (from the update) and three remaining Hearts from before the update for a total of eight Hearts". That indicates that only 3 of the Hearts you had before the update would be transferred, which is not true. I can now see what you were trying to say, but what you wrote was incorrect. --SnorlaxMonster 07:03, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
Ah, probably got the wording mixed up while updating everything else. I'm clarifying it now. CycloneGU (talk) 07:04, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

Regarding Shadow Blast's damage category.

While it's true that Shadow Blast doesn't make contact, much like Aeroblast, Shadow Blast is of the Physical damage category. I can prove that by directing your attention to the game's coding; in this slot 0xBC04F3, Physical damage is 1, Special Damage is 2. Not only that, Shadow Blast causes Counter to react instead of Mirror Coat. I did that by using what I call the "Hols Method". Hope that clears up the debate that's been going on for so long.IM-T-MAN2 (talk) 17:04, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

Thanks! I would recommend leaving this comment on Talk:Shadow Blast (move), since that way other people who read my comment there know it has been checked. --SnorlaxMonster 04:34, 1 June 2015 (UTC)

Oh Lord

Did we literally just have the exact same thought at the exact same time?

I'm going to suggest using the four-line formatting I used on mine. I'll edit that in on your design. CycloneGU (talk) 04:30, 1 June 2015 (UTC)

I guess so. I figured that since there was already an existing one in the userspace, I may as well move it if the location pages were going to be created. --SnorlaxMonster 04:33, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
I didn't know of the existing one; I tried using several variants and didn't think to use "Zones". I'm actually tempted to remove the Wikilink on that since an article doesn't exist for it, and this seems to be the only reference to it (unless there's a "stages" article or something it can jump to). DP149

Hello, I would like your confirmation on a certain subject. In this episode in the Japanese dub, it basically confirms that pokemon of the same gender are unable to act that way (being attracted to each other) normally (like in the games). Brock says this when looking at Pikachu and Piplup.

But, I was watching a subbed version of the episode though.

Still, I decided to listen carefully about what he was saying. While staring at Pikachu and Piplup, he mentions to the others that pokemon with the same (onaji) something being impossible (arienai) to act that way. The only thing about Pikachu and Piplup being the same is their gender, so I thought it was correct. Plus, the machine that made the pokemon act that way manipulates the move attract to make even pokemon of the same gender able to feel the affect for each other.

I asked Umeko this already, but I'm not sure if that user was active anymore though (since 2014? I'm not sure). Can I have your confimation about it though? I want to be sure about it as some sort of connection to the games too.-- --Handmaiden 101 (tAlk) 12:06, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

I don't have access to the Japanese version of the episode, nor am I confident enough in my Japanese to be able to answer your question anyway. However, Dogasu's Backpack is a great site for this kind of thing, and in the DP149 episode comparison it pretty much confirms what you said. --SnorlaxMonster 12:11, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
Okay, I'll add it in the trivia of the episode. --Handmaiden 101 (tAlk) 14:18, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

StreetPass and ORAS

Both times that you've edited the StreetPass article, you've removed the part of the intro where I put that it is (a unique) part of the ORAS games. I really don't feel this is right. The functionality within the ORAS games is patently different from the system functionality (most egregiously in that it very much does not require people be in local wireless range) and should have equal billing, so to speak. Tiddlywinks (talk) 10:22, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

First of all, I think equating a method of communication with an in-game feature because they share a name is inappropriate. The article should be about the communication method, and any stuff about the ORAS game mechanic can be mentioned in its own section or another article.
However, I don't see where that feature of BuzzNav is referred to as "StreetPass" in the game. The manual mentions that it collects StreetPass data, but it makes sure not to call the function as a whole "StreetPass". I'll admit, I haven't used BuzzNav much, but from the in-game prompts, it appears to refer to it as "updated news". Does the game store data taken from the internet in the same place it stores StreetPass data from all games (and thus causes the auxiliary light to be green when there is new data)? If you disable StreetPass in ORAS, can you still get data from online? --SnorlaxMonster 10:58, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
The reason I created the StreetPass article was specifically to explain the ORAS functionality that you're describing as "updated news". Looking around carefully, while various places tend to throw around the term "StreetPass" in the context of BuzzNav and that mail icon, I have to admit that it's not strictly clear whether or not that's a name they've given to the news/etc that ORAS collects when it connects through the PSS. This is complicated by the fact that I've never had the first opportunity to play with the "classic" 3DS StreetPass functionality and see what sorts of responses it can produce in ORAS and if there is a different explanation than I assumed for the use of "StreetPass" in those places. At the same time, it may also be that I have heard people describing their experiences with the 3DS StreetPass and it giving them the same sorts of results as I've gotten by connecting through the PSS, and I misunderstood them to be the same thing. Finally, the fact that when you click that mail icon in BuzzNav after connecting through the PSS it says, "You've passed by [X] people!" definitely doesn't make things any clearer either...
In short, though, I can't know how or if I'm right or wrong (and what should rightly be done about it) unless someone can explain to me how much the 3DS system StreetPass overlaps with the sort of stuff you can get just by connecting through the PSS. I tried to explain what I thought I knew when I made the StreetPass article, but if I got it wrong, no one has made that clear to me yet. Tiddlywinks (talk)

Dungeon infobox map image

Hello I wonder if you or anyone could add map location images on Mystery dungeon articles just like on Poképédia for instance fr:Falaise Trempée just to show you what I mean? Since they already have those I mean can't we just take those images and insert in our articles? --Raltseye (talk) 14:18, 17 June 2015 (UTC)

I like the idea of having maps on dungeon articles to show where they are, but I'm not sure if the style of maps Poképédia uses are the best way. I suggest making a thread on the Bulbawiki forum. --SnorlaxMonster 03:27, 18 June 2015 (UTC)

Keanan

I'm trying to move Kenzo's page to his English name, Keanan, but I can't because there's a page in the way that redirects to Keenan. Should the new page just be called Keanan (Kalos)? That doesn't sound right because there's no other character with that exact spelling. AGGRON989 12:16, 27 June 2015 (UTC)

Ideas for Template:Fan site

Hi I wonder if it is possible for this template used on wiki articles to have the link that Bulbapedia use for linking to that wiki between number of articles and forums for example super mario wiki I was thinking we would have a section saying:link=smw Example:

|articles=yes
|noarticles=15,721+
|link=smw
|forums=yes

Was just thinking that if you liked to know that information that should be available on the page in itself. --Raltseye (talk) 10:52, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

I don't understand your suggestion. Could you try rephrasing it? --SnorlaxMonster 13:25, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
My idea was that if you needed to link something to a different wiki (if ever, I don't know) then I thought it would be smart to put that information in that template, so that you can easily find that information, on the page. --Raltseye (talk) 14:21, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
Oh, I see what you're saying. The abbreviation Bulbapedia uses are just an internal thing only relevant to editors, so I don't think that's necessary. BP:LLT should suffice. --SnorlaxMonster 07:42, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
Okej thank you for listening to my proposition, I had forgotten that BP:LLT existed, thank you for that. --Raltseye (talk) 19:14, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
