Diancie Event
Still a day early. I have OR in my system and will be checking it. However, I have half a mind to wait until the next day as we just know Power Saves will create their Wonder Card for the initial date; they always do, and it ruins legitimacy in some eyes. CycloneGU (talk) 15:17, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
:Yeah, I guess they're going to try and match it to the East Coast American timezone (whereas it went live for PAL as soon as it struck midnight in Australia). --Snorlax'Monster 15:46, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
::Yes, because Eurpoe and Australia are the PAL region. Too bad they don't match it to Newfoundland; that's the first part of the NA region to get to midnight. I'm testing for avasilability but not doing a 7/24 download.
::I'm actually hoping X/Y can download it, but I'm not confident. It wouldn't accept the HA evolved starters from Unova, either. That disappointed me. Speaking of, I looked at my OR Wonder Cards earlier today and noticed Samurott missing; no way they're calling my 7/23/15 Samurott a hack! *g* CycloneGU (talk) 17:30, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
:::Diancie is live. I took a gamble with a 7/23 download. Hopefully AR is 7/24. I'm waiting until 7/25 on AS, but that's irrelevant. Will update the data if it's not already in. CycloneGU (talk) 02:21, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
Sleeping Pikachu Collection
I set up a link to this page from the Sleeping Pikachu released in Generation IV, but later noticed that the page only covers the 2014 release. Can we have that page updated to include details of the 2009 set and have the link pointed to the eventual anchor on the page instead? I think it would be appropriate to cover both sets at the page. CycloneGU (talk) 20:09, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

Revealed Symphonic Evolutions: Adelaide and Perth
I know I should've said this two weeks ago, but there is going to be a Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions held in Adelaide, South Australia, on November 17 at 7pm (played at the Adelaide Festival Theatre). Here is a link to show the bookings, and thus, proof. The official Pokémon website also lists it, in addition to one for Perth, Western Australia (for November 15, at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre). I think there are others on the list that are unlisted, but I wouldn't have a clue. UxieLover1994 (talk) 13:30, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

I'm sure you likely have an alert for the message, but want to direct your attention here as I just received a Lab Starter with a Classic Ribbon. I'm having this researched with other events of the same type and specimen to find out whether we have incorrect information and may edit them after further research. CycloneGU (talk) 01:18, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
Symbiosis, Eject Button, double effects
On Symbiosis, you wrote:
:When the Pokémon that was switched out by the Eject Button is switched in again, until it is switched out, if its item is activated its effect will be applied twice.
But then after that you listed just a few items, mostly with obvious effects/side effects, seeming to imply that perhaps those are the only affected items, rather than any/all items as the above seems to imply.
Are the listed items actually the only ones that are affected by this "double effect"? Because it's weird that only a few items are listed there. Especially when, for instance, Black Sludge just says what one should expect when the "double effect" is first explained; nothing unexpected, nothing seeming to make Black Sludge worthy of explicit explanation. So that really makes me wonder if those are the only affected items.
Or, does the "double effect" indeed really apply to any/all items (...except the ones mentioned at the bottom of the section)? For instance, do Choice Band's and type-enhancing items' boosts get applied twice? And items like Binding Band or Big Root? And...everything except the excluded items?
Tiddlywinks (talk) 14:58, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
:Always good to have a second person try and interpret these kinds of things. Basically, activated items apply twice. Purely passive items with no message display, such as the Choice Band and Big Root that you mentioned, do not appear to be affected in any way (to be fair, I haven't checked such items thoroughly). In many cases, it wouldn't even make sense to consider how such items would apply twice. I tried to make this clear with the wording "if its item is activated its effect will be applied twice" as opposed to say just "its item's effect is applied twice", but perhaps more emphasis should be placed on the fact that it only affects activated items. --Snorlax'Monster 15:06, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
:Power Herb was listed there because it's the only item that can be consumed that would allow you to then immediately use a Gem that you were passed via Symbiosis; however, I guess it is adequately covered under the "otherwise" sentence. --Snorlax'Monster 15:14, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
::Yeah, I guess I'll add a distinction for items that aren't affected then.
::I still kind of don't understand the list of items (Black Sludge/etc). Like I more or less said above, most of them seem redundant/unnecessary after the initial basic explanation. Is that list meant to encompass all the non-trivially affected items (at least as far as you know)? Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:23, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
:::Yes, it's supposed to be a list of all the non-trivially-affected items. I ended up with the list because I wanted to clarify Life Orb only affected the HP reduction, Leftovers needs a specific mention, stats rising twice and halving damage twice also seemed like they needed specific mentions; that just leaves Black Sludge and Sticky Barb, which I ended up giving separate points in order to clarify that it affects both effects of Black Sludge. --Snorlax'Monster 15:28, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
::::Thinking about it, "active"/"activated" and "passive" aren't really defined. To my mind, something like Leftovers that's always active doesn't really get "activated" at any point/s. Something like Cell Battery or Weakness Policy is closer to something I'd say gets "activated". In short, I think it'd be better to just say "These items are affected: [list]". That way there's no ambiguity of people trying to interpret whatever we try to call those items; and you also don't have to have another list of "And actually, these particular ones are excluded..." Simpler all around. Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:39, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
:::::Well, I like to think of any item that plays the little activation animation as being activated. Of course, this does cause some issues in this case, since the Life Orb never plays that, but that can just be considered an extra item that activates. Leftovers certainly isn't a consumable item, but I also wouldn't call it a passive item since it specifically activates (I also like to think of the Flame Orb and Toxic Orb as activated items though, but they don't play the item animation, so I guess you might have a point). Also, it just occurred to me that I forgot to list the Shell Bell, which applies twice in the obvious way (I did test it with all the other items, I just forgot to add it); since you're presumably editing the page right now, better for you to add it than for me to cause a conflict. --Snorlax'Monster 15:45, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
Opera Mini.
Regarding this, Opera Mini is not a web browser, it's a thin client that renders OBML data. If it were a web browser, it would handle the code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.) by itself, as well as HTTP requests. Instead, it retrieves an "image" of the webpage generated by Opera's servers, which send it back to the client. Therefore, there's no point in mentioning it in the article because it has far bigger limitations than not supporting Ruby. SatoMew 20:49, 2 September 2015 (UTC)
:Good to know. The compatibility site just listed it as an incompatible browser so I listed it there. Interestingly, Ruby works on the 3DS browser but not the DSi browser. Hey, can you edit the Pokémon in South Asia page with the following info?
* M02 premiered on Hungama channel on 22nd August. It's opening and ending theme were skipped. It was based on the Japanese version instead of English version.
* Hungama had put S05 on Hiatus. After about 12 weeks, they resumed airing new episoes from Ep263 from 31st August.

Vietnamese translation of Gen VI
Over 2 months ago, after seeing this user (Kienkonlonton)'s explanation here (in your Talk Page), I immediately went to his/her Talk Page to ask for clarification, because the fact that I also live in Vietnam and I haven't seen any info about Vietnamese official Gen VI manga, even in the future. About other translations that are not Gen VI, maybe he/she took from official Vietnamese anime/manga, but I can't tell for sure that they're 100% accurate (I will check when I have time). == Removal of Hoenn Badge fan-made artwork plus additional concerns ==
Thank you for explaining your removal of the Hoenn Badge fan-art that I uploaded (although it took me quite a while to compile and format..sigh T_T); I had no idea that it was filler fan-art! I'm surprised that there is no usable Generation 3 Hoenn Badge concept artwork (unless Game Freak has some tucked away somewhere..; I'm not sure if the "Official Guides" for Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire and/or Pokémon Emerald have any visible art). Do you know if any of the other regions' Badge artwork is under "fan-art" status (such as Kanto or Johto, etc.)?
On a side-note, do you know if the 2 purported "Generation 3 logos" for Team Magma and Team Aqua that I uploaded to the Bulbagarden Archives are fan-art as well? Thanks in advance. Fenyx4 (talk) 20:33, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
:I believe the Aqua/Magma logos actually come from the game itself (right before you battle a Grunt).
:I'm fairly confident that Hoenn were the only fan art Badges (I actually tagged them as such for that reason). I never liked that we used fan art for the Hoenn Badges, so ORAS giving us proper artwork was really nice. In regards to guidebooks, I guess there would be such artwork in them, but I only have guidebooks for Gen IV and Pokémon XY. --Snorlax'Monster 03:49, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
Notable edits?
Hey SnorlaxMonster, I wasn't sure who to ask but since you're a fairly active staff member, do you think the subsections, "Effects on walking Pokémon" for the HGSS games in the pages Johto Route 42, New Bark Town, Blackthorn City, Lake of Rage, Ice Path, Johto Route 33, and Mahogany Town are notable? They've been added by the same user and they've been inconsistently placed in different sections of the page and sometimes reverted by other users as being unnotable. Should they be removed? --Wowy(Talk) 10:55, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
:I've considered those too, and it occurs to me that it might be possible to put them into a table on the Walking Pokémon page. I kind of think they're alright on the location pages, though (but also maybe not...IDK). Mostly they're just terribly difficult to fit well on those pages. Tiddlywinks (talk) 11:08, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
::That info should be on the Walking Pokémon page, and I think it's reasonable to put it on location pages too. As a subsection of the trivia section seems alright to me. --Snorlax'Monster 06:06, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
:::IMO if something is considered notable enough to be systematically noted on every/multiple applicable pages, then it doesn't belong under Trivia. I messed with the Ice Path page previously partly as a test (for action/comment by anyone who may concern themselves), and even if it's perhaps not ideal, I still regard it as better than shoving it under Trivia on every HGSS page. Tiddlywinks (talk) 22:49, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
::::Sure, I can agree to that (although technically we do treat "Origin" as a subsection of Trivia on every Pokémon species page). == Pokémon Picross Stage Listings ==
It appears they will be quite detailed. Check my Sandbox, where I've compiled some data from the two videos I have seen of gameplay so far (one of the goals in Area 01 is still "???" because I can't read Japanese, but I'll wait for English tomorrow). Since the size of this, for some 30 areas, will be easily over three or four times the size of the rest of the current page, and noting the precedent from splitting Shuffle, do you object to stage data being its own page with a more brief listing at the main article? The main article could just have a 30 row table with stage numbers along the top, listing the Pokémon in each area, and offering the link to the detailed page which is much bigger.
I can split this out of my sandbox to a unique page if this would be considered. CycloneGU (talk) 17:41, 2 December 2015 (UTC)
:I've done that split as I got to Area 04 pretty quickly. I also started working on a list of Pokémon like I did for Pokémon Shuffle; I am contemplating creating the associated template to go with it. It's all in userspace ATM (I'm still working on the list page, no template yet), but you can see what I'm up to, obviously. Looking to get these speedily approved so others can work on them without fear of userspace editing repercussions. == New template ==
I have managed to do a sketch of a template I would like to incorporate on the website. It is to be used in the Pokémon Manga section but can also be used for movie and anime.
Basically I needed to names all the Pokémon that was in this chapter/movie/episode with the moves they used in that particular section/movie.
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Bulbapedia:Sandbox#Pokemons_and_moves_they_used
I wasn't able to make it better, I am struggling with the templates codes, I've been trying to learn for the past 3 hours.
I would need to make the moves a color each, for their type.
Any thoughts ? MannedTooth (talk) 06:23, 20 January 2016 (UTC)

Breeding section in move page
I was updating the breeding section for new parents in ORAS and I saw you rightfully reverted Wide Guard to include chain breeding for X and Y.
Do you think it will be a good idea to split Gen VI into XY and ORAS columns, similar to how Gen V was split into BW and B2W2 (e.g. Hydro Pump)? Or do you think it will clutter the table even more than it already is?--Wowy(Talk) 00:23, 23 January 2016 (UTC)
:It would certainly make the page less cluttered, and I would prefer it visually. However, my understanding is that we're not doing that anymore (if you look at level-up learnlists, ORAS is noted with a tooltip rather than separate columns), and it's not possible with the current template. --Snorlax'Monster 04:53, 23 January 2016 (UTC)

Quick question
Lady Ariel recently brought up a question about the translation of 영화관 for the Korean events. It's been translated "Cinema" for Gen IV events, but "Movie" since Gen V. When she asked for my opinion, I thought it should be translated "Cinema" or "Movie Theater", not simply "Movie", since 영화관 refers to a place, while "Movie" refers to the actual film. Lady Ariel mentioned that the titles were changed to "<Movie Pokémon>", since that is what the similar Japanese events use. So, is "Movie" an accurate translation of えいがかん in Japanese, or should we rethink the translation? Wowy(토크) 11:03, 15 February 2016 (UTC)
:えいがかん means "Cinema", not "Movie". I believe Lady Ariel and I had discussed this before, but I don't remember what the reasoning was to go with "Movie" (it might have been to match the European events). I'd say it would make more sense to make the Japanese and Korean ones "Cinema", since that's the correct translation. --Snorlax'Monster 13:53, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

Mew glitch
The main reason I had the move template hidden was that I was not completely ready to bring up a talkpage discussion on it, but I will try to create one within the next three days to start the process. I do want to note that I really do believe that the Mew glitch is an extension of the Trainer-Fly glitch since we do not always need to use a Long-Range Trainer. After all, fainting to a wild Pokémon while in a Trainer's line of sight is enough to trigger the glitch, as in Viridian Forest. The reason why it isn't really discussed is that after the Forest and up to Mt. Moon, you cannot faint in front of a Trainer and in Mt. Moon there is a Rocket you can escape from. (At least, I do not know if anyone has tested combining the "Walking with only fainted Pokémon" glitch with this one.) Btw, does the 'R' in Range need to be decapitalized? I had presumed that it was permitted since that was how it was formatted prior to editing. --Super goku (talk) 18:57, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
:I guess that's a fair point about "long-range Trainer". It specifically requires a Trainer that battles you lock eyes with, not only a long-range Trainer. At one point I believe I suggested "Trainer escape glitch"; I had thought "Trainer-Fly glitch" was the most common term in the glitch community, but looking around it seems "Trainer escape glitch" might be it (e.g. the Glitch City Labs page is at Trainer escape glitch).
:I did try doing the glitch with Jessie & James in Yellow by losing to a wild Pokémon, but I would always end up battling them when I returned, even if I battled a Trainer first.
:It's not a proper noun, so the 'R' shouldn't be capitalized. --Snorlax'Monster 09:47, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
::Using the term "Trainer escape glitch" should work instead of "Long-range Trainer." I think that the minimum requirements could be defined as a Trainer that encounters you by sight and using an item (Escape Rope), a move (Teleport/Fly/Dig), or a method (Fainting in a wild battle/Using a glitch item) to prevent that battle from starting. (I do want to note that I might argue for a split instead of a move, but I am not really sure which would be better.)
::Er, did you remember to flash the Start Menu between the wild Pokémon and returning? I have done something like that which meant that I was matching a Trainer ID rather than the Menu ID. Chickasaurus did discuss the issue on the Talk Page.
::Ah, I see. I kinda get into a weird habit of capitalizing every word at times. Thank you for the correction.
::To add to this a bit while I am working on making a final decision, would it be alright with you to alter the Methods section? I understand that it is how the glitches were first done, but there are some adjustments that can be made. --Super goku (talk) 02:25, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions song specification
Hello. In regards to this edit, the reason I posted the "Incomplete" tag was to see if the songs could receive more specific identification in addition to what is already there.
As an example, take the entry "... (from )" from the Introduction section, designated as #7. Granted, I am not aware of the exact songs used at each concert, but based on the on-screen mentioned source, the time when the "..." quote is used in-game for Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal, and on this officially-sanctioned preview video, I would presume that this song is Champion Lance's battle theme from Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal Versions (and by extension, Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions), which is shared with Red (and, if I recall correctly, Silver) - known on the Pokémon HeartGold & Pokémon SoulSilver: Super Music Collection soundtrack as "Battle! (Champion)" (admittedly, this is a rough example since the actual Pokemon Gold/Silver songs have not been officially provided yet, so all we can make do with is the HG/SS song names as a basis). Similarly, I would presume that "The Day I Became King (from )" is at least in part based on "Coronation Day" (which had the Bulbapedia translation of "The Day I Became King" at one point) from the Pokémon Black & Pokémon White: Super Music Collection soundtrack.
I do not know if each "entry" within the setlist are just orchestral arrangements of individual songs (like "..." being based on Lance/Red's Pokémon Gold/Silver battle theme) or if they are orchestral arrangements that are medleys instead (with "..." being combined with some other Pokémon Gold/Silver songs to form the medley). I was wondering if people who have actually visited the concert could supply the identity of what songs were actually used during the concert for each setlist entry, and we could use the titles from the various "Super Music Collections" as bullet points (or worded in some other format) under each setlist entry.
Formatting Example:
The Day I Became King (from )
*Basis: Coronation Day from Pokémon Black & Pokémon White: Super Music Collection
*<other songs as needed>
(Note: I am listing 'Coronation Day' in italics instead of quotation marks, per how Project Music lists song titles.)
TL;DR: In addition to listing the setlist song titles that were used during the Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions concerts, the article should also provide the titles of exactly what songs were used (whether explicitly used or just as a melodic basis) from the core series games, if applicable.
Thanks in advance for taking this suggestion into consideration. Fenyx4 (talk) 18:47, 14 March 2016 (UTC)
Hidden Ability Legendary birds to be available in Europe talkpage blocked
Hi! I was trying to create a talkpage to the news about the birds in Europe. I wrote some new details about the distribution in videogame stores in Italy, but Bulbanews blocked the creation because of the external link; I'm a Pokémon Times staff member, maybe you know the website, and I had added the link of the original news for confirmation. I don't want to do something wrong or insert unvoluntary spam, so I'm asking you first about what to do now. The webpage also gave me a captcha at that moment, but inserting it didn't allow my edit. Thanks a lot! IvanAipom93

::I've tried again and the captcha doesn't appear most of the times; when it appears, it's at the bottom of the page, and by inserting it and pressing enter (there are apparently no buttons), nothing happens. Once in a while it appears at the right position, but inserting it just refreshes the page with the same "anti-spam filter" error. There's no Adblock in the process. Anyway, yes, the link you've found is the right one; it briefly says that the legendary birds codes will be given in Italy from april 1st to 30th, in some videogame stores that will participate to the event (their identities are still unknown, but usually GameStop is involved in every Pokémon event here). == Comprised of ==
Hello I wanted to talk to you about the issue with the phrase "comprised of" I noticed on the Sinnoh article you reverted ForceFire's edit when he added back "comprised of" in your summary you put something like "comprised of is incorrect" so I guess you agree with me that it is not the best phrasing for this encyclopedia. Whenever I have changed "comprised of" to an alternative ForceFire or Tiddlywinks changes it back without justifying it in the edit summary. They have said something like it doesn't need to be changed but a lot of people think it is incorrect so changing it to an alternative will avoid the issue altogether. Surely if it doesn't need to be changed in the first place it doesn't need to be changed back, is that not also edit warring? They keep changing it back just because they think it is "okay". == Steam Eruption's behaviour on frozen targets ==
I personally tested the move's behaviour, with a Volcanion hacked to know both Scald and Steam Eruption for comparison. Against frozen targets, both moves show the same behaviour:
* Move hits
* Damage calculation
* Target thaws out on the next move (standard thawing message, with no reference made to Scald/Steam Eruption)
Scald and Steam Eruption were each tested five times against a frozen wild Pokemon, so unless RNG somehow managed to roll a 1-turn freeze for each and every trial (hence my earlier uncertain edit summary), I am confident that Steam Eruption will thaw the target out, with similar behaviour to that of Scald.
If you need a greater number of trials for confidence, please let me know, and I will go and test more. Chenzw (talk) 12:23, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
:I have tested Scald in-game myself (in fact I double-checked right before making that edit), and the freeze is removed right after the move hits. There is no possibility of a one-turn freeze, because that can only happen when the frozen Pokémon actually moves, whereas I did it on my own Pokémon in Double Battle and wasted its turn by using an item. If it appeared to be thawing right before the Pokémon's next move, that was purely due to the imperfect way you set up your tests.
:Your conclusion is probably correct, but since it is so easy to test this without having any uncertainty at all, I would rather do that. --Snorlax'Monster 12:45, 31 May 2016 (UTC)

Dunno where else to suggest this except a staff member's talk page, since it's not exactly something I can put together in my userspace, and since our Head of Games seems to have been offline for months, you seemed to be the person who is next-most-closely-involved with our core series pages. Anyway, I think it would be very useful to have a Category: Protection moves to include Protect, Detect, Spiky Shield, King's Shield, etc., and a Category: Moves that can break protection to include Feint, Phantom Force, Hyperspace Hole, etc. This way, we could just link to these categories when describing the interactions between the two types of moves, instead of having to list every single one on every page for any of these moves (and having to update the descriptions every time new moves are introduced). == Wondercard/5 layout ==
Hi, I'm leaving you this message because you are one of the most recent contributors to the template Wondercard/5.
I have identified performance issues with this template, such as unnecessary rendering of hidden tables, and layout engine crashes on some browsers. I have proposed an alternate method to achieve the same visual layout with more lightweight markup at Project:Sandbox#Wonder Card Gen 5 mockup. It has been suggested at Template talk:Wondercard/5, however, that all layout elements on this wiki must be HTML <table>s, and never HTML <div>s, <blockquote>s, <p>s, or any other element. As you are familiar with this template, I'd like your input on the matter, especially on whether you find the nested layout tables more helpful for editing than a lightweight equivalent. People editing the wiki feel like it's a good way to display two pieces of information in the same place, but for readers it's actually the worst way possible. == Multi Battle vs. Double Battle ==
Would you be able to help differentiate Multi Battle from Double Battle? From our definition (both before and after I reworded it), I guess you can equally make Double Battle a subtype of Multi Battle.
My best guess would be that (in the games, at least) it is a Multi Battle whenever the player controls only one Pokémon in a Double Battle (has teamed up with another Trainer) — and that whenever two different Trainers approach you, it's just an ordinary Double Battle. However, I don't know whether that actually contradicts some info from when Multi Battles were introduced/advertised, and I was hoping you could recall (or redefine, or whatever).
(Also, I didn't quite understand why you removed the statement that "there are no specific Trainer classes that can only be encountered in Multi Battles". While I wouldn't necessarily call that statement relevant/notable, from my understanding, it's just saying that there is no Trainer class that can only ever be encountered in Multi Battles (and not in singles/Triples/...), which I guess shouldn't be implied by any definition.) Thanks! Nescientist (talk) 14:54, 11 August 2016 (UTC)
:Any potential Multi Battle-exclusive Trainer class would be a Double Battle-exclusive Trainer class, so I don't see the point in noting it. Memory Girl

I saw your comment about a separate page for the Memory Girl. I've actually been doing some research on memories over the past few days since there's so little information about them out there (even Serebii doesn't have a page on them - HA!) Obviously as a new user I can't create the page myself, but if you could do it I'd be more than happy to contribute my findings. One thing though - should we have separate pages for the Memory Girl and the memory feature itself, or should everything be kept on one page? The memory page would have a list of all possible memories and feelings as well as what triggers each memory; I'm not sure if that would be too much to include on the character page or not.--♪ Rebel Rebel, how could they know? Hot tramp, I love you so! ♪ 17:30, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

Does the "memory" concept serve any role aside from the Memory Girl? If not, I don't see why we would want a separate memories page. --SnorlaxMonster 17:33, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
I hadn't considered that, good point. Having everything on one page seems like the best way to go. Although I wonder if maybe the page should be called Memories instead of Memory Girl, since the bulk of the information will be on the memories themselves rather than the character. On the other hand the memories are essentially character quotes, so I don't know. Whatever you decide is best.--♪ Rebel Rebel, how could they know? Mossdeep City backdoor house

Is there perhaps a reason the QR Codes for the backdoor house are not on the wiki somewhere (like perhaps List of other event distributions in Generation VI; or on Mossdeep City itself, maybe in a gallery). You linked them in your edit summaries. Tiddlywinks (talk) 02:54, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

I think they should be on the wiki somewhere, I just didn't know where to put them. If you have a good place, by all means add them. I don't think they should be mixed in with other event distributions though. --SnorlaxMonster 04:37, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

PMD move mechanics.

So I was planning on researching PMD move workings in near future (so far, I've noticed that for some reason, there seems to be two counters for drops and I have no idea how the other works, but seems to be cap at 4 uses). I've also noticed that German wiki has that nifty images to mark PMD targeting. The only place we have PMD info like that are the PMD-exclusive moves. Eridanus (talk) 12:38, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

Dream World Artwork

The Roseli Berry, Kee Berry and Maranga Berry articles each list their PGL artwork as Dream World Artwork despite these berries being introduced in Gen VI, and the fact that Gen VI does not have a Dream World. Yeah all the Dream World artwork should probably be referred to as PGL artwork. --SnorlaxMonster 01:51, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

Heads-up on Soaring in the sky

Greetings. I hope it's okay if I'll leave my question here? I feel like situation with duscussion of renaming Soaring in the sky went a bit too far with everything, not to telling about that aside of just decision to move it somethere, there's now also template asking about splitting it apart... and everyone in tell is now just talking about what suits them best in matters of article name, even though there's already redirects from alternative article name pages. Maybe as member of Bulbapedia Staff, you can simply put an end to that discussion? i don't know... have a private discussion with other staff members on that topic for a bit, while talking on more important matters... as talk-page in Soaring in the sky now looks ridiculously long, as I see it. Thanks for your attention. TLN (talk) 06:16, 9 February 2015 (UTC)

NSW 2000 Crystal info

I'm not sure of the best place to put this on the wiki. One of the screenshots is an early version of the PokéCom Club trade room (go here for a better copy), while the other is the nurse asking which room the player wants to use for trading: Cable Club room or the PokéCom Club/mobile room (pic: モバイルと ケーブル どちらを つかって こうかん しますか?; unused English text: Would you like to trade over a GAME LINK cable or by mobile phone?)

The name "PokéCom Club" comes from unused English text, by the way (proof). The Japanese version doesn't call it something different. つうしんクラブ is CABLE CLUB in the English versions and the green NPC in Cherrygrove's Pokémon Center also calls it COMMUNICATION CENTER.

There's a POKéCOM CLUB upstairs in any POKéMON CENTER. There, you can battle or trade with a friend far away by using a MOBILE ADAPTER.
To link up, your friend must have the same kind of MOBILE ADAPTER as you.

vs.

ポケモンセンター 2かいの ポケモン つうしん クラブ で モバイルアダプタをつかって とおくにいる おともだちと たいせんや こうかんが できます
つうしんは おなじ しゅるいの モバイルアダプタを つかっている おともだちと してください

Then again, the unused English text also calls it MOBILE ROOM, which I suppose is モバイルルーム in the Japanese version. — SatoMew 18:12, 9 February 2015 (UTC)

Template:Helditems

Could you please update Template:HeldItems so that it is compatable with OR and AS? I am asking you because you are familiar with how the template works and have done so for previous games. PartHunter (talk) 07:45, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

Done. I really think that template needs to be overhauled so it is easier to maintain. --SnorlaxMonster 13:26, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

Memory indices

Why do you think the memory indices are relevant? Is it just something like, for anyone who might want (and be able) to hack their Pokemon's memories? Personally, I don't see much use to be gotten out of adding the indices or a great benefit for most users.

FWIW, going by a post on the Project Pokemon forums by Kaphotics, it seems pretty clear that the game just uses a 0-based index into the list of memories or locations or feelings. And our lists are the same as the ORAS text dump, excepting the absence of a few memory indices in the text dump that apparently have no data (06, 09, 0C, 10, 15, 19, 1F, 2A, 2C, and 3C). Tiddlywinks (talk) 13:19, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

Personally, I like info to be as detailed as possible. It feels like it's similar to List of locations by index number (Generation VI). Occasionally, these kind of things have relevance. However, it's incredibly minor and might not be worth the effort to collect them. --SnorlaxMonster 13:23, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

Wobbu-Palooza! characters

Are you fluent with Japanese and have access to the Japanese version of Wobbu-Palooza!? There are two characters named Shinji and Yahichi who are created on my userspace. I can't tell who they are as their names were only listed in Pokeani and in a Japanese-related matter. Pokeani also lists Tatsuro who is on the same page as Shinji and Yahichi. Help Requested!

Please verify that my sdex template is set up correctly, then move it to that location (I thought of creating it there but held off) and assist in setting up the first reference at User:CycloneGU/List of Pokémon by Pokémon Shuffle Browser number‎; I'll be able to do the rest from there. =) One thing that will be needed is the correct Pokémon images instead of the ones from other games, but that won't break the table if missing. CycloneGU (talk) 17:37, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

I'm going to need to look over it more carefully later, but the imediate issue I notice is that you're using "SDex", which refers to the Sinnoh Pokédex. Perhaps ShDex? --SnorlaxMonster 12:57, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

Zorua/Zoroark event-exclusives

Awhile ago, Solar Dragon and I had a disagreement over Deoxys being the first event-exclusive to no longer be as such. I asked Arc about it, but she was undecided. You've since altered Deoxys' trivia so that it's not an issue, but it still is for Zorua and Zoroark. Your thoughts? glikglak 21:44, 1 March 2015 (UTC)

I'm going to say just call it non-notable trivia and forget about it. It's a "first" rather than an "only"; IMO, we should only really worry about "only", not "first". You also have to exclude transfers from spin-off games (e.g. Ranch Mew). --SnorlaxMonster 13:08, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
The current trivia for them isn't saying first to switch, but rather only non-Legendary to have ever been. Which, if considered true, I'd say is still notable. glikglak 15:12, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
In that case, you're also ignoring Spiky-eared Pichu and the Rotom forms, although I guess you can since they are forms and not species. It's also ignoring Phione. I still think it's better to just leave it out. (If the trivia does stay though, it should be "non-Mythical and non-Legendary Pokémon".) --SnorlaxMonster 05:56, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

List of Pokémon by Pokémon Shuffle list number

I believe this page is ready to move to the mainspace as it is. However, the associated template, Sdex (could be renamed to "ShDex" since Sdex is reserved for Sinnoh), might still use an improvement I want to ask about. Are we working to get the Pokémon Shuffle images on the Wiki for use instead of the other images in there? I know some fan sites already have all of them, but assume we are adding our own copies.

Other than the images question, I believe the pages are ready to be moved and would like your input. CycloneGU (talk) 04:29, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

I am still looking for input on whether these can be moved. CycloneGU (talk) 23:28, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
We don't currently have plans to upload images from Shuffle. However, it would appear that Phiraptor28 has uploaded a bunch of Battle Trozei images, which look to be the same. It would be worthwhile asking him/her about his/her source, to see if we could get more. I think Shuffle images would be useful. --SnorlaxMonster 14:59, 28 March 2015 (UTC)
I think it would make sense to get the images people would expect to see in the game. Other sites have already done so, so while we can't just use those images from that site, we look bad by not having them ourselves. They can then be linked to Pokémon pages in the SideGames template as well as on the list page.
I've also changed the title of the section, which was outdated. CycloneGU (talk) 16:08, 28 March 2015 (UTC)

Soccer/Football

I won't go on about this, but "football" would only(!) be ambigous in the USA. *le sigh* - unsigned comment from MasterZeroFlash (talkcontribs)

Well, Bulbapedia uses American English (matching virtually all official material), so that's the most important place that it's not ambiguous. However, it's also ambiguous in other countries that refer to a different sport as "football", such as Australia (where I live) and New Zealand. --SnorlaxMonster 17:21, 14 March 2015 (UTC)

Style/anime appearances

Hey there, SM!

I wanted to ask:

1. Do photos of Pokémon count as appearances? Such as on Sandile's page.

2. And regarding style, shouldn't the subsection Other on a Pokémon's page under the section Anime appearances be a subsection of Major appearances? For example Mantine's page hasn't Other as a subsection. But the real questions is: is it really necessary for that section to exist, if under the Major appearances section does not appear a link to a Pokémon which has its own page such as Pikachu or Dewgong? Because Other refers to other Pokémon than the one which has its own page, right?

Thanks! --DJWolfy 12:29, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

I'm not really sure about the standard for formatting anime sections on Pokémon pages; I'd suggest asking Kenji-girl. However, I'll do my best to answer your questions.
 1. I think I've asked Kenji-girl about this before, and she said photos count as minor appearances. I forget how we handle statues though.
 2. IIRC, Bulbapedia staff had decided against the "Other" section before (as seen on Mantine's page), preferring the appearance be classified as either major or minor. --SnorlaxMonster 12:37, 22 March 2015 (UTC)
But Kenji said on her page that she is quite busy and may take some time to answer...
So, should the Other section on Mantine's page and on other's Pokémon with the same issue be removed? --DJWolfy 13:26, 22 March 2015 (UTC)
I guess you can remove the "Other" section. --SnorlaxMonster 03:58, 25 March 2015 (UTC)

Another question regarding style. When a sentence ends with the name of an episode which contains exclamation or question mark or any other graphic signs, do we add a period after it or no? Example here.--DJWolfy 12:56, 25 March 2015 (UTC)

Here's one I can answer with certainty. If it's an episode title such that the exclamation or question mark is in italics, our convention is to include a period after it. It doesn't apply for stuff that's not in italics though, like Pokémon Trozei! --SnorlaxMonster 13:19, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
So, in other words, here (after hello, pummelo!) the style is right while here (after the Flame Pokémon-athon! and hi-ho silver wind!) the style is wrong, right? (Sorry if am repeating myself, I just want to be sure of everything).--DJWolfy 13:24, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Yes. --SnorlaxMonster 14:55, 28 March 2015 (UTC)

Mega Lucario Rankings

I can confirm based on past research that rankings are region-based. Apparently, in Japan, the top 50,000 players got the Lucarionite. That said, it's removed from the game now, so I can't verify the current top five; I just know that I got it on both my systems. CycloneGU (talk) 17:15, 23 March 2015 (UTC)

It is accurate, as I have used it several times and it still won't back up save data because no compatable save data exists. Also, the log-in info saved is saved to the system in general, and is saved by the operating system, not the game (because it is the Nintendo Network ID log-in info). Like I said above, can I welcome new users in their talk pages? I saw other users that are not admins nor jr. admins welcoming new users in their talk page. I just want to confirm. Pokéfan95 (talk) 10:15, 6 April 2015 (UTC)

Anyone can welcome new users. However, it's preferred that experienced editors do this, since if new users have questions they are likely to ask the person who welcomed them. --SnorlaxMonster 10:18, 6 April 2015 (UTC)
Ah, ok. Maybe I will do that rarely. But I already experience wiki editing, because I am from Wikia (not the Pokémon Wikia). So, I know the basics, like linking articles, applying templates on an article, etc. Well, thank you for confirming. Pokéfan95 (talk) 11:07, 6 April 2015 (UTC)

Inkay evolves into Malamar in Level 30 while the 3DS is held upside down

Would you confirm this for me? If this is correct, I will undo my edit and add a reference. Go to http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/w/index.php?title=Malamar_(Pokémon)&curid=180245&diff=2267931&oldid=2266379 to see the difference of my edit to the previous one. ThePokémonFanSince1995 06:02, 7 April 2015 (UTC)

I saw you undid my edit. I know the Nintendo 3DS has a gyro sensor, but I just want to confirm, because References are an important thing. ThePokémonFanSince1995 06:12, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
It's worth asking, do you even have a Gen VI game, and have you tried to evolve Malamar? You don't seem to have said that you personally evolved Malamar without doing anything special, which should be the obvious point of contention. And if you don't have personal experience that something is wrong, rather than making a big assumption and removing it from the page, it's better to post a comment on the talk page explaining your apprehensions instead. Tiddlywinks (talk) 12:04, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
Actually, no. But I can't just believe that you need to evolve a Pokémon using your gyro sensor. It would be confusing to those who are new to Pokémon, except if Nintendo or The Pokémon Company really said it in public (they would have said it in a trivia). But nah. I am now believing in you two. I hope Nintendo won't think this way of evolution in the future, even though it is for promoting the 3DS. Because it will become confusing. Atleast this is an obstacle to completing the Pokédex. ThePokémonFanSince1995 12:15, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
For the record, I saw his undoing of your edit, and he confirmed that its true. He literally did say after all that his Inkay never evolved even past level 30 when he didn't hold his 3DS upside down, and only did so once he hold his 3DS in an inverted position. There isn't really a need for complete references here, especially since Goodra and Sylveon are both examples of Pokémon that have weird evolution requirements as well that have been confirmed via gameplay. EDIT: Also to note that in regards to this evolution requirement, other websites seem to agree here. ScraftyIsTheBest (talk) 13:03, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
Let me chime in that I have attempted to evolve Malamar and did not turn the system upside down in time. It appears you have to have it upside down as the level is gained. If it's upside down at the correct moment, even if turned back around before you see the evolution screen, then it will evolve. Just turning the system upside down right before the expected evolution screen is not enough to evolve it. CycloneGU (talk) 23:52, 7 April 2015 (UTC)

About autoconfirmed

I have a question, if a user is autoconfirmed in Bulbapedia, is the user also autoconfirmed in Archives and Bulbanews? Actually, I wanna upload .png replacements of .gifs, but I am not yet autoconfirmed. So that's why I put the template gif to the images I need to replace (and because they are too many, I marked them as minor edits so those users viewing the Recent Changes can hide minor edits instead). Thank you! --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 00:58, 11 April 2015 (UTC)

No, you have to become autoconfirmed on each site separately. --SnorlaxMonster 02:37, 11 April 2015 (UTC)

US seasons template

Seeing the previous seasons, I think the XY series seasons should be named The Series: XY and Kalos Quest. The previous seasons also omit the Pokémon in the name and hence these should also do it to maintain consistency. PikaTepig999 06:58, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

Rumble Pages

I had removed the TOC intentionally. Is there a reason why it needs to be there? If anything, we can link the stage names in the intro to the anchors below. CycloneGU (talk) 23:30, 25 April 2015 (UTC)

What reason is there why you think it shouldn't be there? Removing it takes a specific effort. --SnorlaxMonster 15:51, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

I just didn't think it looked right since the stage names are also listed in the intro. Hence why I said I'm all right with linking them from there. Granted, moving the TOC to the right side might still work. CycloneGU (talk) 16:16, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

Why is there a need for a bulleted list in the intro? Could that not be removed and the TOC reinstated? --Abcboy (talk) 16:21, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

It could, but the reason I removed it is because I thought it looked odd to list the stages, then list the Legendaries, then list the stages again. And it's right to list the Legendaries. CycloneGU (talk) 17:46, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

Adding after a test: this might work, but again requires noting the TOC where we want it on the page. It doesn't look right listing it after the Legendaries, as I noted, because I determined noting where they are there (to save people hunting through the tables and for ease of reference) doesn't make sense to come before the list. The default location without the marker is right before the first header, which would not make sense. CycloneGU (talk) 17:52, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

It's not like the pages are large; scrolling isn't going to be a detriment to people, so listing the Legendaries at the top isn't necessary. If someone's looking for Legendaries, they're going to go to the Pokémon's pages, not run through all the locations. glikglak 18:16, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
Except that, right now, they can't do that. There is no addition to the template for Rumble World yet. I do see Rumble Blast has been added to Template:SidegameAvail but the last edit was July 18, 2013‎. There need to be three variables for Rumble World to be able to properly note all Pokémon as there are a few that have three locations, and many with two. Once that is done, then I can take on the task of going through the pages once my list is completed from the game data. CycloneGU (talk) 18:38, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
I'll add to the above comment. I looked up Shellder at randon to see how other games are treated. I saw:
|md=Stormy Sea (1F-8F)
Silver Trench (1F-8F)
Far-off Sea (1F-8F)
Marvelous Sea (B1-B5)
Fantasy Strait (B1-B5)
Something like that would work, but with a "rumbleworld" variable. It allows room to list specifics of where in each case. "rumblew" could be mistaken for Wii or Wii U (there is a Wii U entry obviously), same with "rw", but "rworld" might be safe as well if preferred. CycloneGU (talk) 18:56, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

Arceus Types

see this.

I already confirmed the Arceus one myself, as I had Normal on Thursday (April 30), Fighting the next day (yesterday), and Flying today. So, in other words, we could put this to a calendar. We can use that switch in the Bastion of Beginnings table at Legend Terrain.

I can't confirm any of the others, but if you were to play and get Arceus today, see if it's Flying type. My suspicion is that the data is set the same for everybody for these things so everyone has the same experience the same day. I wonder if the Deerling/Sawsbuck types are also affected by this, hence why I only found Winter form; I'll do stage revisits to that locale someday after I finish the Arceus hunt for all 18 (and Mew!). CycloneGU (talk) 16:07, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

Following up, I am doing research at Mediawiki on pulling the remainder from a division operation. If an 18 element switch is programmed (something like Shaymin's page calculations on showing its Sky Forme; Genesect also uses a switch, as does Castform), and I can get that remainder bit figured out, I can experiment in my sandbox and see if I can get a formula working as I'll have everything I need at that point; dividing the date subtraction by 18 and pulling that remainder is what will determine the type that shows in the table next to Arceus on that page load. For instance, May 2 minus April 30 is 2, divide by 18 is 2 remainder (obviously) and thus the player gets a Flying-type (I got that today, and it's May 2 LOL); May 31 minus April 30 is 31, divide by 18 and remainder is 13, thus Psychic-type will appear on May 31; June 23 minus April 30 is 54, divide by 18 is clean with no remainder, so Normal-type will appear on June 23. This would update directly into the table. Obviously I'll copy the table to my sandbox for experiments once I have the remainder information and figure out the formula. What's the order for the types to appear? Identical to the list in-game when you go to filter by type.
The only question from there is if changing the 3DS system date wrecks it or makes Normal Arceus always appear. Genesect and others might also use days calculations; Unown definitely requires experiments once I finish getting all of the Arceus. CycloneGU (talk) 19:01, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

tt

Does tt works also in mobile platforms? I wanna know if it works. Thank you! --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 09:27, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

If I may...
My understanding is that the code generates with the underline like in regular browsers, but there's no mouse to scroll over the text, so the TT tag does not activate. I had this discussion with Tiddlywinks once and he said something about not liking the TT tag because mobile users never see it, so I try to avoid the TT tag as much as possible. A suggestion to consoles and handheld consoles

How about if the page will show shortcuts, like List of Pokémon by Pokémon Shuffle list number? It will be like this. (Sorry for my bad English, I don't know how to say it) --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 10:08, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

Shortcuts are used for lists because their titles are constructed and not necessarily obvious or memorable. Console names are just the names of the products, so shortcuts are unnecessary. --SnorlaxMonster 11:09, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
Okay. (Don't forget to delete User:Pokéfan95/Test.) --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 11:31, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

"Eight Hearts"

It was merely an example. If a player has three Hearts when the update is applied, the player will have those three Hearts and five MORE Hearts upon being updated. That was my own example and was NOT false. I now have 6 in the back because I got three more bonus Hearts from Streetpass situations. CycloneGU (talk) 07:00, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

It said "a player can have five free Hearts (from the update) and three remaining Hearts from before the update for a total of eight Hearts". That indicates that only 3 of the Hearts you had before the update would be transferred, which is not true. I can now see what you were trying to say, but what you wrote was incorrect. --SnorlaxMonster 07:03, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
Ah, probably got the wording mixed up while updating everything else. I'm clarifying it now. CycloneGU (talk) 07:04, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

Regarding Shadow Blast's damage category.

While it's true that Shadow Blast doesn't make contact, much like Aeroblast, Shadow Blast is of the Physical damage category. I can prove that by directing your attention to the game's coding; in this slot 0xBC04F3, Physical damage is 1, Special Damage is 2. Not only that, Shadow Blast causes Counter to react instead of Mirror Coat. I did that by using what I call the "Hols Method". Hope that clears up the debate that's been going on for so long.IM-T-MAN2 (talk) 17:04, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

Thanks! I would recommend leaving this comment on Talk:Shadow Blast (move), since that way other people who read my comment there know it has been checked. --SnorlaxMonster 04:34, 1 June 2015 (UTC)

Oh Lord

I'm going to suggest using the four-line formatting I used on mine. I'll edit that in on your design. CycloneGU (talk) 04:30, 1 June 2015 (UTC)

I guess so. I figured that since there was already an existing one in the userspace, I may as well move it if the location pages were going to be created. --SnorlaxMonster 04:33, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
I didn't know of the existing one; I tried using several variants and didn't think to use "Zones". I'm actually tempted to remove the Wikilink on that since an article doesn't exist for it, and this seems to be the only reference to it (unless there's a "stages" article or something it can jump to). DP149

Hello, I would like your confirmation on a certain subject. In this episode in the Japanese dub, it basically confirms that pokemon of the same gender are unable to act that way (being attracted to each other) normally (like in the games). Brock says this when looking at Pikachu and Piplup.

But, I was watching a subbed version of the episode though.

Still, I decided to listen carefully about what he was saying. While staring at Pikachu and Piplup, he mentions to the others that pokemon with the same (onaji) something being impossible (arienai) to act that way. The only thing about Pikachu and Piplup being the same is their gender, so I thought it was correct. Plus, the machine that made the pokemon act that way manipulates the move attract to make even pokemon of the same gender able to feel the affect for each other.

I asked Umeko this already, but I'm not sure if that user was active anymore though (since 2014? I'm not sure). Can I have your confimation about it though? I want to be sure about it as some sort of connection to the games too.-- --Handmaiden 101 (tAlk) 12:06, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

I don't have access to the Japanese version of the episode, nor am I confident enough in my Japanese to be able to answer your question anyway. However, Dogasu's Backpack is a great site for this kind of thing, and in the DP149 episode comparison it pretty much confirms what you said. --SnorlaxMonster 12:11, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
Okay, I'll add it in the trivia of the episode. --Handmaiden 101 (tAlk) 14:18, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

StreetPass and ORAS

Both times that you've edited the StreetPass article, you've removed the part of the intro where I put that it is (a unique) part of the ORAS games. I really don't feel this is right. The functionality within the ORAS games is patently different from the system functionality (most egregiously in that it very much does not require people be in local wireless range) and should have equal billing, so to speak. Tiddlywinks (talk) 10:22, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

First of all, I think equating a method of communication with an in-game feature because they share a name is inappropriate. The article should be about the communication method, and any stuff about the ORAS game mechanic can be mentioned in its own section or another article.
However, I don't see where that feature of BuzzNav is referred to as "StreetPass" in the game. The manual mentions that it collects StreetPass data, but it makes sure not to call the function as a whole "StreetPass". I'll admit, I haven't used BuzzNav much, but from the in-game prompts, it appears to refer to it as "updated news". Does the game store data taken from the internet in the same place it stores StreetPass data from all games (and thus causes the auxiliary light to be green when there is new data)? If you disable StreetPass in ORAS, can you still get data from online? --SnorlaxMonster 10:58, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
The reason I created the StreetPass article was specifically to explain the ORAS functionality that you're describing as "updated news". Looking around carefully, while various places tend to throw around the term "StreetPass" in the context of BuzzNav and that mail icon, I have to admit that it's not strictly clear whether or not that's a name they've given to the news/etc that ORAS collects when it connects through the PSS. This is complicated by the fact that I've never had the first opportunity to play with the "classic" 3DS StreetPass functionality and see what sorts of responses it can produce in ORAS and if there is a different explanation than I assumed for the use of "StreetPass" in those places. At the same time, it may also be that I have heard people describing their experiences with the 3DS StreetPass and it giving them the same sorts of results as I've gotten by connecting through the PSS, and I misunderstood them to be the same thing. Finally, the fact that when you click that mail icon in BuzzNav after connecting through the PSS it says, "You've passed by [X] people!" definitely doesn't make things any clearer either...
In short, though, I can't know how or if I'm right or wrong (and what should rightly be done about it) unless someone can explain to me how much the 3DS system StreetPass overlaps with the sort of stuff you can get just by connecting through the PSS. I tried to explain what I thought I knew when I made the StreetPass article, but if I got it wrong, no one has made that clear to me yet. Tiddlywinks (talk)

Dungeon infobox map image

Hello I wonder if you or anyone could add map location images on Mystery dungeon articles just like on Poképédia for instance fr:Falaise Trempée just to show you what I mean? Since they already have those I mean can't we just take those images and insert in our articles? --Raltseye (talk) 14:18, 17 June 2015 (UTC)

Ideas for Template:Fan site

Hi I wonder if it is possible for this template used on wiki articles to have the link that Bulbapedia use for linking to that wiki between number of articles and forums for example super mario wiki I was thinking we would have a section saying:link=smw Example:

|articles=yes
|noarticles=15,721+
|link=smw
|forums=yes

Was just thinking that if you liked to know that information that should be available on the page in itself. --Raltseye (talk) 10:52, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

I don't understand your suggestion. Could you try rephrasing it? --SnorlaxMonster 13:25, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
My idea was that if you needed to link something to a different wiki (if ever, I don't know) then I thought it would be smart to put that information in that template, so that you can easily find that information, on the page. --Raltseye (talk) 14:21, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
Oh, I see what you're saying. The abbreviation Bulbapedia uses are just an internal thing only relevant to editors, so I don't think that's necessary. BP:LLT should suffice. --SnorlaxMonster 07:42, 12 July 2015 (UTC)

Uh...

You or someone took the time to remove a username from several edits at Pikachu. Unfortunately, the edit reason for the reversion of the user's edits shows that username. CycloneGU (talk) 22:56, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

I wasn't the one who deleted those revisions. I'm not sure why it was done, since vandalism is usually only hidden when it includes offensive material or advertising, whereas that user just inserted junk. Likewise, typically the username isn't hidden unless it meets either of those criteria, or it is impersonating someone. Anyway, it's not like there was anything of significance hidden, so it's not really an issue. --SnorlaxMonster 10:21, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
I know, I thought it weird that someone went and hid it for vandalism, myself, for the reasons you mentioned. As you said, not a big deal, I just noticed it. I don't think I saw a log that showed who it was in Recent Changes, though I'm sure the actions are logged if I were to dig. No need though. LOL CycloneGU (talk) 12:13, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Yeah, I guess they're going to try and match it to the East Coast American timezone (whereas it went live for PAL as soon as it struck midnight in Australia). --SnorlaxMonster 15:46, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
Yes, because Eurpoe and Australia are the PAL region. Too bad they don't match it to Newfoundland; that's the first part of the NA region to get to midnight. I'm testing for avasilability but not doing a 7/24 download.
I'm actually hoping X/Y can download it, but I'm not confident. It wouldn't accept the HA evolved starters from Unova, either. That disappointed me. Symbiosis, Eject Button, double effects

On Symbiosis, you wrote:

When the Pokémon that was switched out by the Eject Button is switched in again, until it is switched out, if its item is activated its effect will be applied twice.

Always good to have a second person try and interpret these kinds of things. --SnorlaxMonster 15:06, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
Power Herb was listed there because it's the only item that can be consumed that would allow you to then immediately use a Gem that you were passed via Symbiosis; however, I guess it is adequately covered under the "otherwise" sentence. --SnorlaxMonster 15:14, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, I guess I'll add a distinction for items that aren't affected then.
I still kind of don't understand the list of items (Black Sludge/etc). Like I more or less said above, most of them seem redundant/unnecessary after the initial basic explanation. Is that list meant to encompass all the non-trivially affected items (at least as far as you know)? Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:23, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
Yes, it's supposed to be a list of all the non-trivially-affected items. --SnorlaxMonster 15:28, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
Thinking about it, "active"/"activated" and "passive" aren't really defined.
Well, I like to think of any item that plays the little activation animation as being activated. --SnorlaxMonster 15:45, 29 August 2015 (UTC)

Good to know. The compatibility site just listed it as an incompatible browser so I listed it there. Interestingly, Ruby works on the 3DS browser but not the DSi browser. I'll remove it from the list. --SnorlaxMonster 13:38, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

Red and Green SGB palettes

How could we integrate this on the wiki? 1, 2 SatoMew 11:37, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

I have no idea. Maybe bring it up on the forums? Not sure whether SGB palettes could fit on the SGB page, or if they should have their own page (since there's also the SGB2 with its own page). --SnorlaxMonster 13:38, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

Edit request

Hey, can you edit the Pokémon in South Asia page with the following info?

 • M02 premiered on Hungama channel on 22nd August. It's opening and ending theme were skipped. It was based on the Japanese version instead of English version.
 • Hungama had put S05 on Hiatus. After about 12 weeks, they resumed airing new episoes from Ep263 from 31st August.

Can you add this to the page in the respective sections? → PikaTepig999 08:42, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

Please bring this up on the talk page there. If you did and didn't get a response there, I'd recommend bugging a staff member with more experience in that page (e.g. Adyniz). --SnorlaxMonster 13:38, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
I had asked another admin, but they seem to be inactive. And Adyniz is on Hiatus. Why don't you add it? If there is any problem I can try to solve it. → PikaTepig999 08:38, 8 September 2015 (UTC)
Is there a problem regarding proof or source or something? → PikaTepig999 10:40, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
This very good source tells that Episodes from 601 (using production codes i.e. last 2 digits for episode number and first two digits for season number) started from 31st August 2015. Is this a good enough source? → PikaTepig999 10:50, 10 September 2015 (UTC)

But I haven't received any reply yet. Can you consider remove the translations which he/she added until further confirmation? About other translations that are not Gen VI, maybe he/she took from official Vietnamese anime/manga, but I can't tell for sure that they're 100% accurate (I will check when I have time). Thank you very much! --Yen01 (talk) 10:10, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

Ah, yeah, I did see your reply there (I put their talkpage on my watchlist when I messaged them, to see their reply), but I forgot about it. I'll ask them again to confirm, but if they don't reply soon I'll remove it from the pages. --SnorlaxMonster 13:38, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Thank you very much! But I can assure 100% that Vietnam hasn't had any official Gen VI manga yet. The only Pokémon manga published here is Pokémon Adventures (I am in fact the one who informed you about its publication here), which has only been released the first 3 volumes. Anyway, thank you for your quick reply! --Yen01 (talk) 08:10, 8 September 2015 (UTC)
Is it long enough? Good thing the XY series is going to air in Vietnam on September 26, so we will have official sources soon! --Yen01 (talk) 13:31, 23 September 2015 (UTC)

Removal of Hoenn Badge fan-made artwork plus additional concerns

I believe the Aqua/Magma logos actually come from the game itself (right before you battle a Grunt).
I'm fairly confident that Hoenn were the only fan art Badges (I actually tagged them as such for that reason). I never liked that we used fan art for the Hoenn Badges, so ORAS giving us proper artwork was really nice. In regards to guidebooks, I guess there would be such artwork in them, but I only have guidebooks for Gen IV and Pokémon XY. --SnorlaxMonster 03:49, 21 November 2015 (UTC)

I've considered those too, and it occurs to me that it might be possible to put them into a table on the Walking Pokémon page. I kind of think they're alright on the location pages, though (but also maybe not...IDK). Mostly they're just terribly difficult to fit well on those pages. Tiddlywinks (talk) 11:08, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
That info should be on the Walking Pokémon page, and I think it's reasonable to put it on location pages too. As a subsection of the trivia section seems alright to me. --SnorlaxMonster 06:06, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
IMO if something is considered notable enough to be systematically noted on every/multiple applicable pages, then it doesn't belong under Trivia.
Sure, I can agree to that (although technically we do treat "Origin" as a subsection of Trivia on every Pokémon species page). Your Ice Path suggestion looks nice. --SnorlaxMonster 01:39, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

Pokémon Picross Stage Listings

I've done that split as I got to Area 04 pretty quickly. LOL Can you help? =) CycloneGU (talk) 02:50, 4 December 2015 (UTC)
I haven't touched Picross yet, so it might be better to ask someone else. I'm not sure which staff are actively playing the game. --SnorlaxMonster 06:06, 8 December 2015 (UTC)

Some things to be deleted

Upon further research, Bloop Slash turned out to be a pseudo-move that game calls upon when using Lob Orb (although it has a convincing name unlike other pseudo-moves). Vertical Cut is actually called Spin Slash. Someone did a bad job by copying and pasting the thing from Serebii (how did that went unnoticed for so long? maybe because the move went unused so nobody could check it easily). There's also pages about staff of Red, Green and Japanese Blue in that category, but someone else marked them so I don't know about them. Eridanus (talk) 14:13, 10 January 2016 (UTC)

New template

It would certainly make the page less cluttered, and I would prefer it visually. However, my understanding is that we're not doing that anymore (if you look at level-up learnlists, ORAS is noted with a tooltip rather than separate columns), and it's not possible with the current template. --SnorlaxMonster 04:53, 23 January 2016 (UTC)

KTCG + 500 edits milestone

えいがかん means "Cinema", not "Movie". I believe Lady Ariel and I had discussed this before, but I don't remember what the reasoning was to go with "Movie" (it might have been to match the European events). I'd say it would make more sense to make the Japanese and Korean ones "Cinema", since that's the correct translation. --SnorlaxMonster 13:53, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

How does one get confirmed on the archives? I read that it's the same principle as here, that is, time and edits, but what's there to edit? MannedTooth (Talk) 13:58, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

Categorizing files, tagging files, etc. Check a:Special:UncategorizedFiles for some, but there don't seem to be many right now. --SnorlaxMonster 14:04, 15 February 2016 (UTC)
I mean, since I'm a confirmed member here, is there any way to confirm me on the other side, I will upload pictures and that will count towards my edits? MannedTooth (Talk) 14:07, 15 February 2016 (UTC)
Uploading does not count toward edits on Bulbapedia, only on the Archives (likewise, editing Bulbapedia does not count towards edits on the Archives). There is no way for you to transfer your Autoconfirmed status from Bulbapedia to the Archives. --SnorlaxMonster 14:10, 15 February 2016 (UTC)
I know that, I meant like confirming me manually so that I can start uploading, but that'll have to wait apparently. :P Thanks! MannedTooth (Talk) 14:12, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

I think the Gen 6 article should be protected

I just had to remove some speculation saying that gen 6 is the only gen not to revisit its region. Since all the details about Sun and Moon are not yet here, and third/sequel versions could arrive afterwards, I think Gen 6's article should be protected. Yamitora1 (talk) 12:41, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

It's true right now, so I don't see an issue with having that as trivia; if some Generation VI game that revisits Kalos is announced, then we can remove the trivia as it ceases to be true. Sun and Moon are confirmed to be Generation VII, so I don't think there's really an issue. --SnorlaxMonster 12:44, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Surfin' Dude

Does he deserve his own article? After all, Dude has one despite not having much content. We know he has a Pikachu and the article would list his in-game dialogue under the Quotes section. He also mentions ramen and yakisoba in Japanese Yellow (iirc) or dogs and burgers in English Yellow. SatoMew2 (talk) 17:06, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

I think try a userspace draft. I'm not sure if there's enough content, unless you want to add him as an "In the games" section to the page Victor (EP067). --SnorlaxMonster 09:49, 1 March 2016 (UTC)

I guess that's a fair point about "long-range Trainer".
I did try doing the glitch with Jessie & James in Yellow by losing to a wild Pokémon, but I would always end up battling them when I returned, even if I battled a Trainer first.
It's not a proper noun, so the 'R' shouldn't be capitalized. --SnorlaxMonster 09:47, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
Using the term "Trainer escape glitch" should work instead of "Long-range Trainer." I think that the minimum requirements could be defined as a Trainer that encounters you by sight and using an item (Escape Rope), a move (Teleport/Fly/Dig), or a method (Fainting in a wild battle/Using a glitch item) to prevent that battle from starting. (I do want to note that I might argue for a split instead of a move, but I am not really sure which would be better.)
Er, did you remember to flash the Start Menu between the wild Pokémon and returning? I have done something like that which meant that I was matching a Trainer ID rather than the Menu ID. Chickasaurus did discuss the issue on the Talk Page.
Ah, I see. I kinda get into a weird habit of capitalizing every word at times. Thank you for the correction.
To add to this a bit while I am working on making a final decision, would it be alright with you to alter the Methods section? I understand that it is how the glitches were first done, but there are some adjustments that can be made. --Super goku (talk) 02:25, 2 March 2016 (UTC)

Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions song specification

Hello. In regards to this edit, the reason I posted the "Incomplete" tag was to see if the songs could receive more specific identification in addition to what is already there.

As an example, take the entry "... (from Gold, Silver, and Crystal)" from the Introduction section, designated as #7. Similarly, I would presume that "The Day I Became King (from Black and White)" is at least in part based on "Coronation Day" (which had the Bulbapedia translation of "The Day I Became King" at one point) from the Pokémon Black & Pokémon White: Super Music Collection soundtrack.

The Day I Became King (from Black and White)

- unsigned comment from IvanAipom93 (talkcontribs)

I'm imagining you just got the captcha wrong. Try purging your cache and submitting it again. If it still doesn't work, just give me the link here or via Special:EmailUser/SnorlaxMonster (unless the link is this, which I just found). --SnorlaxMonster 02:03, 19 March 2016 (UTC)
I've tried again and the captcha doesn't appear most of the times; when it appears, it's at the bottom of the page, and by inserting it and pressing enter (there are apparently no buttons), nothing happens. We're also giving out some codes in a contest on our site. If some of this information is useful, use it as you wish! Well, I hope this situation can be useful as a bug report too! Thanks again for helping --IvanAipom93 (talk) 10:37, 19 March 2016 (UTC)
Where did your site get this information? I don't see it on Nintendo Italy's site, the Italian Pokémon site or the Italian Pokémon press site. Did your site get this directly from Nintendo?
I'll get back to you about the Captcha issue. --SnorlaxMonster 10:49, 19 March 2016 (UTC)
Yes, we are constantly in contact with Nintendo Italia, we got this information directly from them. They also gave us many codes to distribute in advance (some of them have been put as a price in our writing contest), but they told us that the official distribution in stores will start in april, as we said in the news --IvanAipom93 (talk) 12:31, 19 March 2016 (UTC)
Now we also have full details for the Italian distribution: each player can reedem 2 codes at once, and these are the stores where the distribution takes place. --IvanAipom93 (talk) 23:53, 27 March 2016 (UTC)

Comprised of

Please allow people to change this phrase to a more precise and expressive term. Thank youRatchet and Clank 1995 (talk) 11:09, 19 March 2016 (UTC)

A Spanish Pokémon Wiki called WikiDex

Hello there, I was wondering about this wikia and if it is notable for it's own page here at Bulba since The Pokémon Wiki is. If it is, I volunteer to create and maintain that page in that case. I'm wondering specifically since we do not really have an outspoken friendly relation with wikia, so I'd thought I'd ask first, just to be on the safe side in case of it would not be considered notable or allowed. --Raltseye 18:14, 28 April 2016 (UTC)

I see no reason it wouldn't be notable. It's of significant size and presumably a major part of the Spanish fandom (esp. after the EP Spanish wiki died, but probably before that anyway). --SnorlaxMonster 04:34, 13 August 2016 (UTC)

Steam Eruption's behaviour on frozen targets

I personally tested the move's behaviour, with a Volcanion hacked to know both Scald and Steam Eruption for comparison. Against frozen targets, both moves show the same behaviour:

 • Move hits
 • Damage calculation
 • Target thaws out on the next move (standard thawing message, with no reference made to Scald/Steam Eruption)

I have tested Scald in-game myself (in fact I double-checked right before making that edit), and the freeze is removed right after the move hits.
Your conclusion is probably correct, but since it is so easy to test this without having any uncertainty at all, I would rather do that. --SnorlaxMonster 12:45, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
Oh, I understand now. I went ahead just now to set up a Double Battle as you described, and confirmed Steam Eruption's thawing effect. Chenzw (talk) 13:05, 31 May 2016 (UTC)

Home media and digital media releases

On the pages of Seasons, we include listings of the home media releases of the seasons. Currently, only DVD releases are included. Digital Media releases, such as iTunes/Amazon video, can also be considered home media releases in a way. Hence shouldn't they be included too? What do you think? → PikaTepig999 10:21, 2 June 2016 (UTC)

I think it would be nice to keep track of them, but I don't want to have to do it myself. --SnorlaxMonster 04:34, 13 August 2016 (UTC)

Suggestion

I hope you like this idea! Thanks! Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 15:39, 9 June 2016 (UTC)

Moves that break protection would be a good idea for a category, now that Hoopa's signature moves mean there are quite a few. You'll find that I already made protection moves 2 years ago. --SnorlaxMonster 15:46, 9 June 2016 (UTC)

Wondercard/5 layout

Hi, I'm leaving you this message because you are one of the most recent contributors to the template .

I have identified performance issues with this template, such as unnecessary rendering of hidden tables, and layout engine crashes on some browsers. I have proposed an alternate method to achieve the same visual layout with more lightweight markup at Project:Sandbox#Wonder Card Gen 5 mockup. It has been suggested at Template talk:Wondercard/5, however, that all layout elements on this wiki must be HTML
s, and never HTML
s,
s,
s, or any other element. As you are familiar with this template, I'd like your input on the matter, especially on whether you find the nested layout tables more helpful for editing than a lightweight equivalent. ライケン Rigel Kent (talk) 01:35, 18 June 2016 (UTC)

Move entries

Hey, I want to ask you about something that has been bothering me for over a year now. The Gen 6 column on move articles. [2]

I've read one of your posts where you said that dividing the Gen 6 column was not possible with the current template. I want to ask why is that? I looked up the source and while I don't fully understand it, it doesn't seem impossible to replicate the subcolumn feature. I understand that the problem here is not with laziness but I'm really curious why this hasn't been done yet.

Oneofthosedf (talk) 16:19, 19 June 2016 (UTC)

Could you answer to this? I'm curious what is the reason behind it.
Oneofthosedf (talk) 23:56, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
I don't actually know why the template is that way, only that it is. Personally, I think it would be better if it was handled the same way for all generations. You should ask talk page for the specifics of why it is that way. --SnorlaxMonster 00:17, 10 July 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for your response.

Berry trees

FYI, I uploaded every regular Berry tree stage (that is, everything but e-Reader Berries, which might or might not use Enigma's animations), so now we need to replace the placeholder Generation IV images in Generation III header sections, like here. Eridanus (talk) 10:04, 20 June 2016 (UTC)

Status condition

Hello there. As I've noticed you've further improved the definition of non-volatile status quite a bit, I would like to gently direct you to this discussion as well, in case you have not already noticed it yourself. I would appreciate your input there. Thanks. Nescientist (talk) 19:08, 26 June 2016 (UTC)

Stance Change

I was just wondering why we couldn't use a time swap on that page? Time swaps have been used on many different pages for Moves in the same template? Not arguing that we absolutly should, just wondering why not? Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 07:39, 9 July 2016 (UTC)

I really think we should avoid them whenever possible. People editing the wiki feel like it's a good way to display two pieces of information in the same place, but for readers it's actually the worst way possible. What makes it even worse is that its presence on the page is entirely non-obvious to readers. --SnorlaxMonster 07:41, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
I get you. Is there not maybe a way the template could be ammended to show two mini sprites at once? There are lots of minor MS sprites, mostly gender differences that don't consitute a new section on the template. Of course the problem would be Furfrou which has way more than two Mini Sprites (Think I just awnsered my own question) Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 07:50, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
I think Furfrou can just use the default MS and not worry about its trims. The only gender differences which have different MS are major ones, so that's not an issue. I like handling it separately for each form anyway (see Forecast for example). --SnorlaxMonster 07:54, 9 July 2016 (UTC)

Higher Resolution Image Requests

I noticed that you were uploading higher resolution images today. The File:GO Storage Upgrade.png image is currently a 148 x 148 image.

Here is a higher resolution image:

Global Link Change

Due to the upcoming release of Sun and Moon, the Global Link system for the Gen. VI games will discontinue some of it's service options in later October. Here is the official news article to prove it: [3] -Tyler53841 (talk) 01:45, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

Thank you for posting the news article. -Tyler53841 (talk) 05:05, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

I know it has been like over 3 years since I mentioned that site that shows the obedience mechanics, thanks for adding them! Daniel Howard Fernandez (talk) 14:49, 25 July 2016 (UTC)

How do I become autoconfirmed?

How many day and edits do I become autoconfirmed? Princess Peach (talk) 18:54, 5 August 2016 (UTC)

For informal purposes, I have since provided information on this on Princess Peach's talk page as the same question came up elsewhere from the same user to additional users. Feel free to keep an eye there in case there are other specific questions. CycloneGU (talk) 19:34, 5 August 2016 (UTC)

Camp Pokemon

Hey! So I was planning on adding Camp Pokemon to the side games location on each Pokemon. (I already have a list of the roughly 150 Pokemon in it) I was just wondering when it says color=beauty color, what color would I use? IHHeroes (talk) 18:52, 7 August 2016 (UTC)

Multi Battle vs. Double Battle

Any potential Multi Battle-exclusive Trainer class would be a Double Battle-exclusive Trainer class, so I don't see the point in noting it. Unless we get Triple Battles with multiple Trainers on each side and consider those Multi Battles. --SnorlaxMonster 04:34, 13 August 2016 (UTC)

I have two questions.

Images like File:001.png still display BW2 sprites. When will they be updated? Why are there no such files for Generation VI Pokemon?

Some templates, like User Rain and User Loner, aren't protected. Should they be protected? sumwun (talk) 00:23, 13 August 2016 (UTC)

There are no equivalent sprites anymore, which is why we now use artwork instead of those sprites. They will not be updated unless we get some equivalent replacement.
Yeah, I guess those usertags should be protected. --SnorlaxMonster 04:34, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
