The goal of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis is to be just as international as Pokémon itself, and helping aspiring Pokémon wikis in languages we don't yet have is a great way to help achieve that goal. However, if we don't even know who the possible aspirers for Encyclopaediae Pokémonis's ninth language even are, there's no way any growth can take place. If you speak or understand a language that's currently not represented in Encyclopaediae Pokémonis and happen to find a wiki in that language with aspirations to join Encyclopaediae Pokémonis, then don't hesitate to drop me a line. Remember, an aspirier can't grow if they remain sheltered from the world!

If you understand Brazilian Portuguese, or know someone who does, then the Portuguese arm of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis is in desperate need of your assistance. Many, if not all, of that wiki's articles are in dire need of improvement, be it massive cleanup or even adding some real content to begin with. Their sysops are never around to handle things, and their interwiki bot has done nothing since late September--of 2008. The fact that a trusted member of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis has fallen into such disrepair is disturbing, to say the least. Brazilians do not deserve quality this low. If you can help improve the Portuguese end, then I highly recommend you do so. Today.

Colosseum

So is it really true that if i wanted a Totodile in my Emerald game for my initial playthrough I could get it into the game using Colosseum? -- D558 04:22, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Just as long as you meet the conditions for trading in Colosseum. The fact that you can use Colosseum to break some of the intended restrictions of the regional Pokédex for the country of Hoenn is often referred to in circles as the "Colosseum exploit", since you're, in a sense, exploiting Colosseum to get around normal trade restrictions.
Can't guarantee that a Totodile sent into an early-game Emerald via the Colosseum exploit'll want to become a Croconaw right away, though...--Shiningpikablu252 04:49, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
well what i was thinking is that i would send my hydro cannon totodile from XD to my LG or Ruby then to colloseum then to my emerald. maybe also pick up a beldum via Metagross in colloseum then breading it then sending it to emerald -- D558 06:43, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Team Rocket

Someone vandalized the Team Rocket page a few minutes ago. Should that revision be removed, similar to what happened with May? --rockersk08 01:36, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

You asked a sort of out of the loop admin. (His choice, not ours) we'll be taking care of it. MaverickNate 01:38, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

personal pics

hey a while ago i had too many personal pics uploaded to the archives so u had to delete one. anyways, can you delete the rest. theres only 2. here they are:

File:CustomBlastoisemetallicred.png and File:Pikachusunglasses.png

thanks --Usyflad10 04:11, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

SP252, these have since been removed by CoolPikachu!. —darklordtrom 08:00, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, they were already gone when I read it. --Shiningpikablu252 15:45, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Notability

See here. ht14 19:19, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

I need not be dragged into something like this. Most of 'em'll probably survive anyway without my help...--Shiningpikablu252 19:20, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Alright. Should I keep this though? ht14 19:21, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Eh, let 'em wage until you can get better opinions from other sysops. Just because I think most of 'em'll survive doesn't necessarily mean there can't be a surprise in the bunch...--Shiningpikablu252 19:23, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Donavadam and Twilightdragon21

Is it possible that these are two different people? They could be siblings for all we know. The other one seems like a girl. Anyway, I think you should have asked first. Donavadam has no reason to create a second account. --ケンジガール 20:02, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

I acted the way I did because it appeared to be blatant sockpuppetry. Donavadam explained everything very well. Since blatant sockpuppetry wasn't the case, I'm going ahead and reversing everything. --Shiningpikablu252 20:06, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Template

2 templates: {{HeldItems}} and {{Side Game}}. The first one needs some work with parsers as I told Trom, and the second one needs work with talk page. ht14 00:27, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

HeldItems: Just what appears to be wrong with it?
Side Game: Had to delink that one because it appears to not exist.
--Shiningpikablu252 00:33, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
See Trom's talk page. Section needed for R/B/Y items (such as Machop). Also, some may have 2 items (such as Horsea). ht14 00:46, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

oh ok

My mistake then. Thanks now I can have a transforming Smeargle. ^^--Darknesslover5000 20:01, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Just remember, it's not an easy task. A lot has to go right. If just one thing goes wrong, such as Ditto waking up, you'll have to start over from step one. And remember, the Ditto has to be the faster of the two. --Shiningpikablu252 20:04, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

hey I tried it out on my emerald. It didn't work--Darknesslover5000 00:12, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Talk:Pokédex

Wow. Thanks. The theory for merging a page worked in my head, but it didn't work in practice. Then I couldn't find the past discussions. Whereabouts did you find them? (And how do you merge a page properly? I've seen you do it...) —darklordtrom 03:49, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

You almost completed the merge properly yourself. The only step you missed was bringing the old conversations back onto the page. In the event of a merge where the restored revisions were already back in the history, all one would have to do is click on the date and time of the revision while viewing the history, click "Edit this page" while still on that prior revision, copy what's there, return to the most recent revision, go into edit mode there, and paste the content. Simple as that. --Shiningpikablu252 03:54, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
Ah, copypaste. I was thinking there would be a way of doing it that kept the history intact. Guess not. —darklordtrom 03:55, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
Merges are a bit tricky when it comes to their histories, I'm afraid. There is, sadly, no perfect method to complete a merge. Even the merge for Talk:Jessie's Yanmega had to go through a copypaste to properly show all comments that had ever been made about the subject. --Shiningpikablu252 04:00, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
Ah. Thanks anyway. —darklordtrom 04:03, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

HG/SS Leak?!

Sorry about reverting that pokesav page. It won't happen again. New to the system. Ps: The bulbanews article about heartgold and soulsilver on 9/9 may be fake. The link that is given is to a bad site. you might want to check the authenticity of the article.

Last comment by Actionfilmsfan1995

Thank you for understanding.
However, a leak?! That's not surprising. Pokémon is a big-name franchise, meaning that some sources might have planted insiders in the game stores, allowing the insiders to snag themselves a copy (or two, in this case), and voila! This isn't the first time this has happened to the Pokémon franchise--we've had leaks of either ROMs or physical copies more often than not around the time of launch. --Shiningpikablu252 22:03, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

An Observation/Idea/Question

A lot of the trainer types in the games (Schoolkid, Lass, Rich Boy, whatever) tend to give out money based on the level of their Pokemon. There's typically some sort of number, where if you multiply the level of their highest-level Pokemon by that number, you'll get the amount of money they give you. I think this magic number changes between generations, but I'm certain it's there. I've checked several trainers and most fit the "magic number" rule, there's a few outliers but most follow it.

The reason I bring this up is because I noticed that the Trainer templates have coding worked out whereby entering the Pokemon's Pokedex number and level, instantly calculates the exp they give you. So, my idea/question is, if the money given by trainers is universal based on their classification and Pokemon, is there maybe a way to code a template that calculates the money they give you in the game way? Just plug in the Trainer type and the Pokemon level and get the money they're likely to award you? Drake Clawfang 06:20, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

I'd suggest finding someone to analyze the game code to look for full evidence supporting such a theory. While I have seen some suggestions of such a system myself (the Elite Four proper, not the Champion, in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald), for all we know, this might all be coincidence and the game might program the money given on a per-trainer basis. My : Try asking experts in looking inside the game code. They'll give a damn about what you're looking for, trust me. They can give you a far better answer than I can. --Shiningpikablu252 15:35, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
Alright, do you know of anyone like that here I can speak to? I don't know the Pokemon Community all that well. Drake Clawfang 16:10, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
'Fraid not. You're best asking someone you do know and relaying your request. --Shiningpikablu252 16:11, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
I don't know anyone, though, that's why I brought it to an Admin. This is the only Pokemon Site I've ever been an active member of. Drake Clawfang 16:20, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

What if I were to examine each trainer and work out the pattern myself? Just to make sure, I looked at the Sailors from Gen 2. With only one exception, all of them award you money equal to the level of their strongest Pokemon times 40. The sole exception is a Sailor with an abnormally leveled team (31, 33, 26). So my theory is sound, it's just needed to work out the pattern for each trainer. Drake Clawfang 17:26, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

If you have a minute...

Hi Pikablu. If you have a minute could you possibly fix the articles for move over on the archives? Thanks! –MasterKenobi 23:40, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Rotating Images

Your comment on the Giratina edit reminded me something I wanted to ask. Is it possible to have the eyecatches (the little picture before entering an area) rotate by time of day? For example, I know for a fact that Slowpoke Well's eyecatch changes by day and probably so does the National Park's. Thanks. –MasterKenobi 00:03, 26 September 2009 (UTC)

That sounds like a good idea, actually. Might be a bit more complex as opposed to the Altered Form and Origin Form Giratina, but it's certainly worth a shot. All we need are all such images and such a system can be successfully implemented. --Shiningpikablu252 00:06, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
We were actually intending to do that once all images are obtained. Ilex Forest is, as far as I know, the only one currently operational. —darklordtrom 00:11, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
